In 2014, the NCAA modified the net contact rule for women's volleyball to allow players to touch the net, ropes, or post outside of the antennae without penalty if it doesn't interfere with play or is used for support. Players can also legally touch the net at any point during ball contact, or if they hit the net while turning away after already playing the ball.
@@jaimejaime1043 You can legally play the ball off of any body part, it doesn't have to be an emergency but is often referred to as such because you wouldn't choose to not use your arms in favor of your foot or leg because accuracy suffers.
