I luh the Homeaglow. Help without the guilt of asking a loved one
Hi Kayla! This video had me balling my eyes out in the beginning. Seeing you, mom, and granny gave me so much joy! I truly miss my mom and granny dearly. ❤ If you haven't done so, you ladies should definitely have photos taken of the 3 of you. 😊 As for the door, I think the color is fine. Change the wreath that would be your pop of color contrast. Love how beautiful and big your hydrangeas have gotten. 😊
Your hydrangeas needs watering. The leaves appear to be drooping and you should add some slow release fertilizer like Espoma Plant tone. Sprinkle around the drip line or perimeter of the plant, scratch it into the soil and water it in. I’m sure all your bushes need to be fertilized. Be careful pruning blooming bushes so you don’t cut off the blooms for that year. Prune gardenias after the last bloom. Looks like your front is shade so when choosing plants for your window boxes, be sure they all have the same light requirements; shade or part shade. I don’t believe there is enough sun for the gardenias on that side because of the tree and your front is shady. You can dig them up and plant them in your flower bed in the back. The door looks good as is but you could use a darker shade of the same color for more color. Purchase a more vivid wreath. You will definitely make it beautiful.
Definitely if you don’t like the door change it. You should feel great and it should put a smile on your face when you drive up.

Was beautiful feeling watching 3 generations of ladies working together
aww thank you! i cherish these moments!! 🤗
That's what came to my mind as well, I was going to say the very same thing!
(Just wanted to add, about the color of your front door, pull one of the colors from your nook in your entryway where the bench is, from the beautiful wallpaper the door color will tie together and bring the outdoors indoors).
Brought tears to my eyes!
Hello Marcus and Kayla, are you saving your leaves to mulch and for compost? Leaves are a great weed barrier for a food garden
I love the look of the door. Being very colorful is great, but painting your door to match your shutters is a very subtle way of saying I no longer have to scream I have arrived because I am already here. You can always add some color with a wreath. You, Marcus, your mom, and grandmother did a great job.
@@lisalovett5902 thank you boo! 🫶🏾 Marcus loves it as well so we’ve decided to keep it for the rest of summer and revisit the idea in the fall
I agree. It’s a great backdrop for bold colorful wreaths throughout the seasons.
Owning a house 🏠 is a blessing and it's so nice to see young people taking pride and care of your investment. So a house becomes a home. So happy for y'all. The support of your family is another, amazing blessing. Great job 👏🏾😊.
Such a sweet comment! Thank you so much ♥️ we try our best!
Watching 3 generation of women. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ so beautiful
thank you boo! 😍♥️
Three generations ❤️ what a blessing!
🥹🫂 biggest blessing!
Beautiful ❤
It is such a blessing to see three generations of women working in the yard together. In harmony. May God bless you your mom and grandmom.
I love how you and Marcus works together as a couple..count it all joy!!
Yas! Thank you so much! 😍
From a male perspective, I like the door. I would do more color in the door wreath. Hydrangeas leaves will naturally wilt in this Georgia summer heat, especially when in full sun, not really a way around that. Use a granule time release fertilizer on the side underneath the tree. That side isn't getting enough sun. The fertilizer will help.
Oooo thank you!! Taking notes 📝
And Marcus loves the door color as is too 😂
I use Holly-tone on my hydrangeas and water them once a week. More frequently if it’s too hot.
@wandadelacruz2486 very familiar with Holly-tone. It's pricey. I get wilted leaves no matter how much I water, especially during intense heat.
The color of the door is beautiful. It allows the plants to pop.
I agree!; the flowers are the show
I think the door looks fine it matches the shutters. What about a more colorful wreath? The wreath is dull. It's summertime try a wreath with yellow in it. Something brighter that makes the gray door pop.
Okay I’m gonna try that! The wreath just isn’t hitting like how it was last year lol 🙃 thank you!
So happy to see you continue to carry the tradition of allowing the elders to contribute their wisdom and knowledge. What a blessing!!!
Yesss! You’re totally right! It’s a tradition 🫂🫶🏾
Your house is beautiful! A black door would make it look elegant and classy. Love seeing your mom and grandma helping out. Marcus is a great husband.
Give the front door a pop of color. Maybe a Sunny Yellow 😊
I was thinking yellow as well
Yellow is such a pop of color and inviting
Absolutely yellow, I was thinking the same thing.
Beautiful!! Okay! That’s at the top of my list!!
Yes I vote this color too!
Y'all need to put a pressure washer on your list of things to buy...cuts down so much time!!!
Best time to pull weeds for me is after a rainfall and sometimes I garden in the rain if it’s not a downpour because the weeds come up so easily. Gardening for me is ongoing maintenance till wintertime.
I like the door color. Maybe add a colorful wreath that can be changed out with the season. Everything is looking beautiful! You and Marcus are doing an amazing job and really taking great care of your blessings ❤
Sometimes simple is more.
@@janetjohnson8066 trueeeeee 😅
The door looks fine! The gray door matching the shutters is NICE! A different color door with throw the color scheme off.
I love the work and the family time you guys put in!!! Maybe a wreath with a pop of color instead of changing the door color? I think it looks beautiful but we all know how you love color. Hence the green car!!! I was so happy to see her and her green glory! 🥰😂🥰😂
@@Klove514 thank you boo! Yall are right! The wreath is a little dull this time around!
I love watching young black couples work hard on their homes! It reminds me of myself and my husband! We fixed up (still are doing things) our home as well and it's such a fun, but physically hard thing to do! But it's so rewarding! You and Marcus have given us such great ideas and lessons learned. Keep up the good work.. and I know you likely already do this, but OMG, cherish your mom and grandmother! This was beautiful to watch. ❤
My pressure washer is my absolute favorite tool…best investment ever.
I loved the color of the door❤
Great job Kayla. ❤ I think Black Shutters and Red, Yellow or Teal Front Door. The shutters get lost on your house and so it loses the Wow factor. Whatever you pick, let it be as vibrant as your personality 😊
Kayla you and Marcus are such an inspiration. Your home is lovely and inviting. Watching you, I always feel like working on things DIY for my grandmother"s home. Lately I almost began feeling overwhelmed and sad. She is 94 yo and has dementia now. I am her caregiver. She was always a DIY and enjoyed carpentry. I just realized I learned from watching her. Watching you with your mom and grandmother made me realize I should start choosing DIY projects my Grand can still do. I grabbed a H&G magazine with a livingroom I was going to copy for her and showed her two color versions. I was shocked but loved that she chose the bold colored room instead of the mostly white. She even assured me that she can copy a painting she admired in the inspiration room.Thank you and Marcus for sharing. I'm going to have Grand start watching your channel with me. Been a super fan since you painted your car. BTW please fill that entryway vase with some of your beautiful real hydrangea blooms and save the fakes for later.😂🎉
I love how you guys take care of your house and make it a home and you are so blessed to have your family near you and have them over for helping ! God bless your little family!
@@ralucawilliamson2372 thank you so much 🥹🫶🏾🫂
I think a light blueish green for the front door will give just the right amount of pop of color but still compliment the gray shutters. So like an electric blue, or turquoise color might work.
Looks goof! Lots of work and Marcus dancing in the background had me giggling. And I like the grey door. It looks classy.
You are truly blessed to have the assistance of your Mom and Grandmom, its wonderful to see, they did a great job,❤ I think a Yellow door might BE Really NICE?! I look forward to seeing your pick. God Bless You and Marcus and the doggie❤
@@debrawilliams2781 thank you hunny! 🫶🏾🥹 they are a blessing
Hey, Kayla. This has inspired me to get back to my front yard and FINALLY put my plants in the ground. I’ve had the plants since early May, I believe. It’s definitely a lot of work and more than a notion. 😂
I love the planters. It gives the house a cottage feel.
The paint on the door 🚪 makes the house look elegant and elevates it. I do understand your concern with the color because you typically add personality to at least one element in your designs.
Instead of a chair you could add a small table to the front porch.
Everything looks great to me! 💚💚💚
@@buyitbuilditfixit yesss! I hope you have so much fun planting boo! ♥️ thank you so much
U should go with black for the door to match the door trim. And use a wreath that would compliment the flowers in front. 🥰 But whatever color u choose will look great. I still suggest u should definitely put up a wreath.
Your Mom And Grandmother did an excellent job with the planters. Do a YELLOW or Emerald Green Door!
I'm fully on board with a nice green door.
Hey Kayla! I think that the area where you were talking about expanding the pine straw would make a great outdoor seating area. Because your front yard is so large, away from the street, & and there's lots of shade there, it would be perfect. I would consider a small pergola with a bench or 2 chairs added & a potted plant on either side.
They gray is lovely. If you want a pop of color Tiffany Blue would be gorgeous. Also brick gives off extra heat so your hydrangeas and window boxes will need extra water. Consider leaving the chair up and putting the planter behind it on one of the steps, if it's not too big. If it is at the bottom near the rail. Have fun playing with things until you get the look you love!😊😊
House looks great. A yellow front door would good
i think a sage green door would be really pretty
Your home has great Curb Appeal! I love the door color as is. It's elegant and cohesive with the rest of the front. As for the chair, can you see if placing it next to the house and move the planter in front of the chair. Basically, just swapping them. 😊
😩 , what would I give to have had experienced moments like this. You are a very fortunate young lady. May the most high continue to bless your family. Everything turned out beautifully 🙏🏾
Your home is lovely inside & out. To see you & your grandmom working together is precious. And, you & Marcus work together so well, what a treasure.💕
Leave the Gray door. Love it with the shutters.
Black mulch around the bushes would stand out more and define the area, separate from the grass. It's all blending together right now. Also, the front door could be a fun pop of color.
Great to see a young person enjoying the outdoors, doing something very beautiful and relaxing… God Bless sister
I would keep the door gray or black and add color with flowers and such. It looks very nice. You're so fortunate to have your mother and grandmother with you. I'm sure you know that. ❤
Hello Kayla and Marcus. Typically, I'd refresh my front/back yard areas up every season. ❣️
I’m so proud of you guys as young people. I had my daughter watching your show, and we enjoyed every minute of it, fighting over what color door you should get. You have a big beautiful house and yard, you’re doing the right thing in taking your time doing a little at a time. You’re also saving a ton load of money doing and fixing, and painting and scrubbing, digging and planting. What a blessing to have grandma in the mix. Can’t say enough how proud I am of you guys. Marcus doesn’t say much but he does a lot. Blessings and more blessings
I love watching dirt pour off my house and garage door when I hose it all off, which I just did. Instant gratification and accomplishment. I wash off the front and back of my house when I see dirt. I love your style of house, the same as mine.
Hi Kayla, I like the exterior makeover. 🤩👍🏼 It was a blessing to have your Mom and Grandmom lend a hand in the makeover. The planter boxes look nice. 👍🏼 I agree with you about the door color. Although the gray looks nice, it doesn't make a statement. Choosing a color that will give it pizazz will definitely add to the exterior makeover. And make it stand out. I'm sorry I don't have a color suggestion. 🤔 But I'm sure whatever color you choose will be a perfect choice. 🤩
Kayla+Marcus=An AWESOME DIY TEAM!!! I've said it before and will say it again, "Y'ALL ROCK!!" 😃👏🏽💜😃👏🏽💜😃👏🏽💜😃👏🏽💜😃👏🏽💜
Take care. Much love. 💜🙏🏽💜🙏🏽
I think the door color is very pretty and matches the shutters. Colorful summer wreath will brightened the door. The chair is a cute touch.
I like the door matching the shutters, it's elegant!! And also water your plants and shrubs!
Hi. I know this is probably out of your comfort zone but those doors look really nice either black or a rustic brown color like your entry way mirror frame! Just a couple ideas that would look nice with the white brick! And definitely no chair on the porch! 🤗
I have a big clean up done at the end of fall, beginning of spring and an end of summer - so that the outside stays pristine.
You and Marcus did a great job!
Front door needs a stand out color - yellow or aqua!
Cut the longer hydrangeas down so the the rest of the plant can get sunlight and air circulation thru the plant. As far as the gardenia bushes prune some of the branches a little. This will make them bloom. Under the tree plant shade plants like hostas and monkey grass. Also the ants and spiders could becoming from the hay you're putting down. Try spraying around boarder of house, windows and gutters to prevent this. Ortho Home Defense does well.
I love the door. It adds a cute innocent look that doesn't stand out too much but blends very well with the house.❤❤😊
Hi, glad you back. I thought I lost your channel. Did not know you had taken a break for a while. I just love your channel. The best video was your international trip. I'm glad I found you today. Have a blessed day 🙏.
The front door looks calm and inviting, I think it’s perfect
I think it looks elegant to me!! if you want a pop of color, it may have to be black or red!! You guys did great!! but!! if you decide to build a elongated porch, that would be awesome!!
I live in a condo so I only freshen up once or twice a year by using windex on patio windows, dining room window and bedroom window, sweeping off the patio and cleaning patio furniture etc. You all have done a lot of work once again and the place looks great. Thank you for sharing and enjoy. 💮💮💮🌻🌻🌻🥀🥀🥀🌼🌼🌼🌸🌸🌸🌹🌹🌹🌺🌺🌺
Hi Kayla! ANOTHER great video 💗 I spray off my house, pull weeds, water the flowers all that jazz about every 2 weeks. It stays clean and is easy to maintain doing that type of cleaning twice a month 🍃 For the door, look at DIY faux wood door projects! I think your door, with your style house would look beautiful! 🤍
The door looks great. Let your house and flowering bushes be your wow factor.
I think the most beautiful in this video is watching the three of you together.❤ Last year we had a bad storm that took out a 80 year old black walnut tree 8' diameter and a 40 year old one too. I've planted 2 pink dogwood, one white dogwood, a peach tree, Washington Hawthorne, and 2 crape Myrtle bushes. I've got a wildflower garden that came up with seeds instead of plants. Zinnias, hollyhocks, sweet peas. I've got a hydrangea bush, but I'm keeping it inside until the fall. 98` too much for it here. Tomatoes plants from seeds and sunflowers from birdseed lol. Your front yard is gorgeous.
We invest in a good house power wash after the pollen has subsided every spring. It’s totally worth it and will save you and hubby some time
Also the yellow leaves are normal when the plant or leaf is not getting enough sun because it’s hidden by other leaves or buds. Just continue to water them in deep at the root ball every other day for at least 8 minutes and your hydrangeas will thrive. Hydrangeas are sun lovers and need at least six hours of morning sun so if the shrub is in an area that is getting too much shade that is the issue.
I have a big clean up done at the end of fall, beginning of spring and an end of summer - so that the outside stays pristine.
You and Marcus did a great job!
Front door needs a stand out color - yellow or aqua!
Have a tree specialist come in to thin out the large trees so that the side of house will get more sun for the plants to thrive.
Kelly green on door. You could do rocks around the birdbath circle and then pine straw
You really has a eye for decorating. Been following you for years. Love Marcus and you, just wanted to mention that Marcus I saw you chilling on the roof when your wife was painting the front door.😊😂❤️
Hi Kayla, you are as beautiful looking 👀 as your flowers. You and hubby Marcus are amazing young couple, you make homeownership a must have. Your door looks 👀 very nice. Knowing you Kayla, you are going to change the color. You are the Queen of painting. Much love 2 you both. Sending God's prayers to you all.🙏❤️
You always do such a nice job maintaining and improving your home. It's obvious that being a homeowner and doing these things brings you so much joy.
By the way, I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it, but Ivy is VERY invasive. You'll have to trim it often to prevent it from taking over your garden. I used to have Ivy in my front garden area from a previous tenant in the house where I currently live, and it would just take over everything and was sometimes daunting to maintain. We finally had to just pull it from the roots and get rid of it. It's very pretty, but it's a lot. Just thought I'd let you know.
Finally, I think a sage green door would be very pretty.
😍😍 Beautiful transformation! Loved that your grandma and mom helped you guys out! What a blessing ❤ I think you should paint the shutters black to tie in the black frame around the screen door. Then do a pop of color on the new front door. 🫶🏽
Once a year is way too long. It will get out of control. I clean the front and back of my house once a week. Of course in the summer. Pull weeds, clean lanterns and water the plants around the house. People always tell me that my house looked spotless
Oh wow! 🤩 That's great!!
You are not a boring person. You do you! My favorite color is green 😊 I always love to see what color your door will be each season lol
Happy Sunday
Those white flowers are just beautiful and I love that you have one on each side
The Hydrangeas are very thirsty, so you need to give them lots of water and at least feed them with nutrients once a month as they will have used all the nutrients in the earth. When it's winter, put some compost around the base that's rich in nutrients.
I think painting your door a soft orange to match the flowers in your window boxes.
Looks so lovely 😍
RED DOOR would be a wow for me. A red door signifies hospitality, protection and it is a cultural expression. Southern hospitality. Protection signifies the lambs blood that was placed to protect the firstborn, biblical reference. It would certainly pop and you could add pops of red in the flowers. It looks very clean and neutral now. You have never been afraid of color.
Fortify your soil with miracle grow soil. You could use mulch ,black is my fav color mulch. I use it to define around trees bushes and flower beds and walkways. Less expensive than rocks or stepping stones.
Hey Kayla girl. Have you ever thought about day lillies in your front beds? They are beautiful and they come back every year. Also they spread so you can split them up every 2 seasons or so and put them all over your property. So beautiful.
Love seeing u and ur mom and grandma working together...yes outdoor work is alot..I usually start right b4 spring once it starts to warm up ..Im in Ga as well..and when it gets super hot only early mornings doing touch ups...answers to ur questions yes i would give the door a pop of color but nothing too loud u said u wanted a cottage feel so maybe a soft pastel color..the hydrangeas love water so maybe set up a drip system on a timer for them as well as the window boxes ..also if u do hand water try not to hit the leaves but focus more on the root system that may help with the leaves turning colors..and yes i think a pine straw bed would be great..i had to do the same in my yard ..grass wouldn't grow so i added a mulch bed and added plants that dont require a lot of water or maintenance( mostly foliage plants)..but if i wanted a pop of color I could add a planter with pretty flowers..Good luck!!
What a beautiful transformation. I live the hanging ivy in the window boxes! 💚 I say you should make the front door a light yellow. That would be cute
3 generations is a true Blessing. I remember doing things with my Grandmother, Mother and Aunts and Great Aunts.
I love how well you guys work together and how hard you work to have a nice home. Also, I just LOVE your music. Some time I research so I can enjoy the play list. It is always great! Thank you for your attention to detail..
Hey Kayla and Marcus you guys are at it again sprucing up your home. I love to see how you two work together. It truly makes my Sunday evening here in the UK 🇬🇧 as I am in bed not feeling too well. 😫.
Thank you for brightening up my evening. Love ❤️ love ❤️ love ❤️ the hallway make over. Take care of each other. Bev UK 🇬🇧🙏🏾🙏🏾🇬🇧🇬🇧🌹🌹🙏🏾🙏🏾
The refresher looks great. I vote to paint the door yellow. Love seeing you & your family working together 😊
Talk about some deep satisfying cleaning! So beautiful watching you guys do this together ❤️❤️
It was a blessing to c the generations for sure! Made my heart happy ! U guys have come a long way with house! When I first saw Marcus, I thought what is he doing with that wig on😂😂😂😂😂😂 Just a suggestion, but pressure washing is awesome. I was amazed at how much that thang can clean! Everything looks great sis! Blessings to u and urs !
I really liked the door color. Actually, when you showed that first view of the home after cleaning and trimming the bushes, I thought this is such a pretty home.
I love watching your content. As a realtor, I love when I see homeowners making their house a home. Also, I definitely think you should leave the door color as it is now.
Y'all put so much love and attention into this home and it is absolutely beautiful.
Your house is definitely a home. You both put a lot of love and attention into it.
Hello Kayla,
You see the webs in the inner tree, you may have spider mites. There is strays for that and fertilize twice a summer. To promote blooms in the window boxes fertilizer weekly.
Love 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶 this house decor look for summer time.Wow😮 you &your husband real done it up. This Is some good summer house ideas Fabulous ✨✨✨✨
You are so blessed to have a mother that will pitch in and help you with any project. Always love seeing her when you have her helping you. Seems like she is such a great mom!❤
Hi Kayla, ALWAYS LOVE LOVE LOVE your makeover DIY's. We have SO much the same taste in decor etc. I agree an outdoor area requires 110X more work than we ever think !!!! I think I was lazy one Fall and STILL have dead leaves under shrubs and bushes and definitely need my son to get up on the roof to clean out the gutters. PLEASE, the dirt, spiderwebs, twigs ,etc. all over !!!! I put the hose on the highest power and blast as much as I can and wash down w/ soapy water like you did. I desperately need to touch up some spots w/ paint etc. It NEVER ends. I also have window boxes. Mine are black wrought iron w/ grass beds. Maybe that keeps the ants away ? Have you ever thought of hostas plants. They are SO SO easy to care for .Just plant. They grow to humongous proportions and will fill in any areas and make them lush and green Maybe around the birdbath ? I personally like the grey (but knew you wouldn't lol ) Try putting a much brighter more vibrant wreath on OUTSIDE of front door to give that area color and see if you don't change your mind. OR even if you paint it I would always hand my door wreath outside so it can be seen. Love the idea of wildflowers in window boxes but they may need some more color too or more vibrant colors to make them more lush looking. IF you do paint your front door also look on Pinterest for ideas .Look at color wheel for what complements the grey shutters .I know it sounds too dark but what about black. Your home is stately brick and to me grey, white and black are stately colors .The black door w/ super colorful floral wreath OR a white hydrangea summer wreath is chef's kiss stately. If not ,keep it grey and paint it an apple red in Fall !!!!Enjoy a safe, cool Summer !!!
I love the color of your door. Add a colorful custom made wreath and it will make the door pop.
A vibrant red colored door would look nice. A red door has been said to symbolize hospitality, luck, happiness, prosperity and protection. 💞
Yes, I think you should paint the front door if you want it to pop. I'm not sure what color-maybe a shade of green. Look at some samples online.
I love pops of color so the door popping is always gonna be a vibe. ❤
Hello it's always awesome to see your various projects. Happy Sunday and as always welcome back. You home is really coming along thanks for sharing with us.❤😊
A lavender door would be beautiful. Cool, classy color!
I love the door and the look of the front of your home. It looks sophisticated!!! Much love to all of you guys putting in the work. 🎉😊
You’re right! The front door has its own excuse to stand out, and to be an accent. It does look good grey but, go for it!
Your home and personality are beautiful, new subscriber. ❤
Loving the refresh for sure. I think you should pick a color from your favorite flower and paint the door. Right now I’m obsessed with sunflowers so I painted our door sunflower yellow 🥰
The bushes with the beautiful white giant flowers are hydrangeas. It looks like they might be limelight hydrangeas. I would suggest going to a plant nursery and talking to one of their professionals about how to properly nourish hydrangeas. They need to be fertilized in spring and fall, and, in Georgia heat, they need to be deeply watered once a week unless it rains.
Not new, just clean! It looks so good. The flower beds have come a long way and grown well. Great choices! All the things you are doing weve done too. We started early spring. A power washer is a great thing. I washed my windows and finally put out some triple shred black mulch. We live north though.
Everything looks great though...even the door.
