Despite being an electronic artist, after looking up his methods, it turns out he uses a lot of field recordings for his rhythm sections. And he avoided using any type of drum machines. He did however literally sketch his ideas for his tracks out on graph paper. He says his intentions are to explore different ways to conceive music while keeping the feel of it organic.
I think people have already been doing this subconsciously manually when creating rhythms but, great video info and Maxforlife plugin really helps.-thx-cheers!
Dude this is so cool! I am a new producer that spent a lot of time listening to Psychedelic Rock and hope to bring that influence into my sound. One of my favourite bands King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard uses stuff like polyrhythms, interesting time signatures & microtonal tuning to create an amazing vibe, this tool will be perfect for adding some of that spice to my own sound! i do that with the max for live Rozzer seq. recommended by tom hades but anyway the euclidian looks fun. for poly theory the video from Andrew Huang helps me a lot

The Euclidean driven version of the track at the beginning just sounds like it's got a delay added to certain elements. Maybe a dotted note delay. I think this whole thing has gained traction because people feel like they're cooler saying "I use Euclidean rhythms" because it's sounds interesting, but the theory is much more interesting sounding than the music it produces. Also, did you think Kraftwerk's beats were boring? If the other elements going on in the song are fantastic then it doesn't matter if you're beat is very simple or minimal. In other news, there is NOTHING worse than saying "maths" or "do the maths". (How many different types of math were you planning to do at one time?) It makes about as much sense as saying "drink driving" lol. I hate the way British english is melting together with American English, but I suppose it was inevitable with unprecendented 24/7 access to each other via the inter toob.
quick question, when you were using the perimeters and testing the rhythm, i noticed that there is no midi clip, but in the final result i say midi clips, how did you convert the rhythm into a clip? also very great tutorial, and keep up the good work Will

Coming from Bulgaria where odd time signatures and syncopation for spacing notes is very common in folklore music I always found western notation systems lacking or making it difficult to represent music that isn't the normal 4/4 or 3/4. At the same time those rhythms feel very natural to play on an instrument. So if you are looking for esoteric musical concepts you might want to check time signatures like 7/8, 9/8 13/8 and 15/8

I believe FL Studio has an in-built Euclidian Sequencer, Euclidean Rhythm Generator. Right-click a channel, and choose Advanced Fill.
P.S. That bass was making my monitors rumble ;-)

It will but you might need to use a difference Euclidian sequencer. They all have similar functionality though, so it shouldn't be a problem!
