what is Jon Snow is Craster's kid...Craster banged Lyanna and all the other princesses of westeros and then went back north...What if Craster is the prince that was promised and he will return and defeat the Night King. Craster is another Targaryen and before the sack of Kingslanding he went north to hid until the time was right. He was giving the White Walker's his children as a way to deceive them and Craster will use that to get close and kill the Night King

*Jon Snow* as *King In The North* or *Warden of the North* is more appropriated than probably the last 10 guys before him. He was *raised in Winterfell*, served at the wall, *lived beyond the wall*, climbed the wall, saved the wall from the *7th great wildling invasion*, became *Lord Commander of the Night's Watch*, faced the *White Walkers*, died and came back to life, put northerns and the free folk to fight together and won the *Battle of Bastards*, killing the usurpers. No one is better for this duty than him!

made me tear up a little bit, because the only thing that was proven by the discovery of John's parents was that NED STARK is the SINGLE GREATEST PERSON of all time, took the shame of adultery, lost his right to the iron throne just to save a kid

I agree with a lot of what you wrote except the Iron Throne part. What right to the Iron Throne did Ned ever have lol? At no point did Ned ever consider taking the throne himself to be a realistic option, the plan was always to seat Robert there.

    • @heavystorm1614
      @heavystorm1614 8 лет назад +6

+Electricladyland1994 I don't get it either, but I believe the plan to put Robert on it was never solid from the start. Which character was it, that remarked that had Ned wanted the throne, he would have gotten it?

    • @89Dualstrike
      @89Dualstrike 8 лет назад

ned stark was named hand of the king by robert baratheon and later (while robert was in his last minutes to die in his bed) robert told ned to take a piece of paper and write down, blabla robert names ned from house stark to king of seven kingdoms, ned did not want it, but robert simply made him king...
you all know the outcome, renly left KL so ned was pretty much alone in KL with a handfull men, no baratheon arround and against the lannisters and the KL-guards

    • @LordCorlys
      @LordCorlys 8 лет назад +31

      heavy storm
It was Cersei who said it, to which Ned responded, "I've made a lot of mistakes in my life, but that wasn't one of them". Which is my whole point, the OP is suggesting Ned gave up the Iron Throne to protect Jon which simply isn't true. Ned never wanted the Iron Throne to begin with regardless of Jon's situation.

Ironically Robb Stark did intend for him to be King in the North of he should die without any son's.
He actually left it in his will!
He didn't want Sansa to be Queen because she was married to Tyrion.
On his way to the Twins he had a confrontation with his mother about it.
    Check out this quote:
“Young, and a king,” he said. “A king must have an heir. If I should die in my next battle, the kingdom must not die with me.
By law Sansa is next in line of succession, so Winterfell and the north would pass to her.”
His mouth tightened. “To her, and her lord husband. Tyrion Lannister. I cannot allow that. I will not allow that. That dwarf must never have the north.”
“No,” Catelyn agreed. “You must name another heir, until such time as Jeyne gives you a son.”
She considered a moment. “Your father’s father had no siblings, but his father had a sister who married a younger son of Lord Raymar Royce, of the junior branch. They had three daughters, all of whom wed Vale lordlings. A Waynwood and a Corbray, for certain.
    The youngest . . . it might have been a Templeton, but . . .”
“Mother.” There was a sharpness in Robb’s tone. “You forget. My father had four sons.”
She had not forgotten; she had not wanted to look at it, yet there it was.
“A Snow is not a Stark.”
“Jon’s more a Stark than some lordlings from the Vale who have never so much as set eyes on Winterfell.”
“Jon is a brother of the Night’s Watch, sworn to take no wife and hold no lands. Those who take the black serve for life.”
“So do the knights of the Kingsguard.
That did not stop the Lannisters from stripping the white cloaks from Ser Barristan Selmy and Ser Boros Blount when they had no more use for them.
If I send the Watch a hundred men in Jon’s place, I’ll wager they find some way to release him from his vows.”
He is set on this. Catelyn knew how stubborn her son could be. “A bastard cannot inherit.”
“Not unless he’s legitimized by a royal decree,” said Robb. “There is more precedent for that than for releasing a Sworn Brother from his oath.”
“Precedent,” she said bitterly. “Yes, Aegon the Fourth legitimized all his bastards on his deathbed.
And how much pain, grief, war, and murder grew from that?
    I know you trust Jon.
But can you trust his sons? Or their sons?
The Blackfyre pretenders troubled the Targaryens for five generations, until Barristan the Bold slew the last of them on the Stepstones.
If you make Jon legitimate, there is no way to turn him bastard again.
Should he wed and breed, any sons you may have by Jeyne will never be safe.”
“Jon would never harm a son of mine.”
“No more than Theon Greyjoy would harm Bran or Rickon?”
Grey Wind leapt up atop King Tristifer’s crypt, his teeth bared. Robb’s own face was cold. “That is as cruel as it is unfair. Jon is no Theon.”
“So you pray. Have you considered your sisters? What of their rights?
I agree that the north must not be permitted to pass to the Imp, but what of Arya?
By law, she comes after Sansa . . . your own sister, trueborn . . .”
“. . . and dead. No one has seen or heard of Arya since they cut Father’s head off.
Why do you lie to yourself? Arya’s gone, the same as Bran and Rickon, and they’ll kill Sansa too once the dwarf gets a child from her.
Jon is the only brother that remains to me.
Should I die without issue, I want him to succeed me as King in the North.
I had hoped you would support my choice.”
“I cannot,” she said. “In all else, Robb. In everything. But not in this . . . this folly. Do not ask it.”
“I don’t have to. I’m the king.” Robb turned and walked off, Grey Wind bounding down from the tomb and loping after him.
After this Robb made Northern lords bear witness of his plan to make Jon heir.
""Robb stood, and as quick as that, her fate was settled.
He picked up a sheet of parchment.
“One more matter. Lord Balon has left chaos in his wake, we hope.
I would not do the same.
Yet I have no son as yet, my brothers Bran and Rickon are dead, and my sister is wed to a Lannister.
I’ve thought long and hard about who might follow me. I command you now as my true and loyal lords to fix your seals to this document as witnesses to my decision.”"

I picture the show ending with jon sitting on a giant throne made out of dragonglass and valyrian steel, built for him after king's landing was completely destroyed and the iron throne with it. As the shot pans out we see sitting on Jon's left side is ghost, the direwolf and on his right side is his queen danaerys, the dragon. This union of ice and fire gives birth to a dynasty that lasts all of 2 years when gendry returns to take back the seven kingdoms through the enormous shoulder strength he has gained after all those years of rowing.

Jon would've been in danger if he'd been raised as a trueborn Stark. That would imply he's the son of Lyanna and thus Rhaegar. Safest to raise him as a bastard of an unknown mother. That's probably what his sister made him promise to do, right?
"Ned, tell everyone this baby is my son and the heir to the iron throne, I want him to get killed as soon as possible. Promise me."

Jon has the most satisfying arc, in that he goes from being the black sheep of the Starks and a steward at the Wall, to eventually becoming lord commander and now king in the north. He gets the most battles and has the classic heroes' journey arc which is a timeless trope that never gets old, which is why people probably love his story the most.

He didn't,well at least in the book he thought Dany was the only Targ left(not counting himself).
Poor Aemon, died without knowing his great great great nephew was besides him the whole time,in the end he still gave Jon the same advice he once gave to his brother(Aegon aka Egg) when he became king:
"Kill the boy and let the man be born".

Whenever I watch this tears come onto my eyes. First of all, to see Jon becoming a man and revenging for Ned and all of his brothers and sisters. Jon is perhaps the only one who is more like Ned Stark, he has honor and kindness in his heart. Watching all these men of Great Houses, cheering for Jon as King and asking for forgiveness. Despite the circumstances Jon avenged and fought to save his hometown and now he gets the credit he always deserved. He's no longer a bastard to them but the true "Lord of Winterfell". To see Ser Davos calling Jon the "King in the North" after so many years of worshiping Stannis is truly admirable and touching. Well done for this video!

Why? Catelyn didn't know Jon was Lyanna's. If you were a woman and found out your husband brought a kid he told you was his son from some woman he screwed while he was in the war, would you willingly welcome him with open arms? No, you'd be insanely pissed at your husband and wished that boy would be far away from your house as possible.

I don't get all this criticism Jon's getting for being a bad Leader, clearly his men don't think so.
His own flesh and blood is out there so he instinctively rushes out there, on his own, to help him.
And that moment he's out there, alone, facing down the oncoming Bolton Cavalry, saved by his men at the last possible moment, this Scene cements the Loyalty they have for Jon.
They know they're outnumbered, they know the plan is to wait, and they know to advance would more than likely mean their end.
Davos is no official Captain amongst the northerners, he has no authority over any man in that Army, they didn't have to charge when he gave the order. But they did, to protect their Commander.
Why would hundreds of men charge into almost definite defeat to protect a motherless Bastard?
Because he's a Good Commander and they believe in him.

This is truly a stunning video, and it remains my favorite out of all the Jon Snow (Targaryen) tribute videos out there. Jon Snow is my favorite character, always doing what he believes is right, self-sacrificing and taking initiative. There are two types of kings: the kind who stands on a hill and watches their men fight in battle, or the kind that fights alongside them. It's an easy answer as to what kind Jon is...

I love rewatching this every once in a while. You do such an amazing job of summarizing his journey. Thank you for sharing your art. I hope someone hires you to create movie / series trailers as you do amazing work.

Caitlin's line at the end is one of the most moving displays of regret that I have seen on film

people tend to forget how much shit Jon through and how much he's achieved and how he survived, just because he's a popular character who has his fathers (the one who raised) morals they call him stupid and useless, this video is a summery of how he is worthy of everything good coming his way.

You should do one for Dany as well. I bet there are all sorts of parallels. This was really well done.
