    Now that would go beautifully with my 52 Jeep Willys!!!

    It seems to me that it might be easier, more aesthetically pleasing, and more secure to add width to the neck, and use the bridge screws to secure the neck to the box. Of course that would mean adding the width after the neck is in the box, so scratch the easier part from my description, but still might be worth a try.

      I have done it both ways. Both have their pros and cons.

    I wonder if you could ghost a pickup inside of an ammo can.

    "IYAAYAS" Ammo !! love it man. I'm a Chief Navy Aviation Ordnanceman ret. , we're "IYAOYAS". My last tour in the Nav I was at Eglin AFB, the Fleet liaison for the AIM-120 AMRAAM working with the Air Force Ammo troops. Just started with CBG's. So far I have one Snowden and a Ellbogen. Great video, lots of good info on the set up.

    Nice. What do you think about a bolt on neck? The box is certanly strong enough. I have a grandson who is really into vintage military stuff, and he plays guitar. Seems like a perfect blend. Thanks for the idea and tips! What is also cool is that you don't need to disassemble the whole guitar to get inside.

      Thank you! I am not a fan of bolt on necks, I like the neck going through the box for a 3 or 4 string.

      @@robertbyrdsguitars I'm just learning. I'd love to hear why. I'm finding out one reason first hand. I have a bolt-on from another misguided adventure. I thought just bolt it on and go, but getting it square is a challenge

      The metal of these ammo cans is a bit thin and the neck would bend around too much...

    • @robertbyrdsguitars
      @robertbyrdsguitars  7 месяцев назад

      @@mikehunt8968 The neck extends inside the box so the metal is not bending. Bolt on would not work for sure.
