I'm a Filipino, a language lover, and speak fluent Indonesian, basic french, and other. this video is so much fun and inspiring me again to continue my language learning. its been fun watching this awesome inspiring video.
I have only spent 3 months in Brazil 🇧🇷 my whole life. But I love the language, culture, and people. I read all the novels written by Jorge Amado and listened to MPB countless hours... that is why... obrigado
Do you find it difficult to switch languages like that? I have learned Spanish for 2 years and Thai for 1 year. Once I speak Spanish, my Thai is gone and vice versus.
Tim keeley, I really like this guy who has zero ego and a great personality. I really enjoy watching him. I am an atheist but I can easily say god bless him.

@fariastupiantigo I traveled twice in Brazil but the most important factors are that 1. I read all the novels of Jorge Amado and 2. I listened to MPB for literally thousands of hours 🎉Contact me I'm Facebook or email for a chat😊
Hi Tim, would you be interested in doing language challenge in different language families like a video on Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai or Latin languages. I am curious to see if those are actually sound and look similar in all 1 conversation.
I set aside a certain amount of time to study new languages regularly. For maintaining and improving I basically concentrate on the languages that I expect to be able to use in the near future.
@@polyglotdreamsHi, that is a good plan too and I do the same, like my spanish is on a high level, so I maintain that by watching movies, the news and reading and I am spending more time to learn german, my goal is to get that to the same level as spanish. I also want to learn french and japanese too.
Wow amazing u can speak indonesian language, ur indonesia so good nice to hear that . Rarely polyglot can speak bahasa indonesia., By the way i can speak 7 languages , germany , russian , italian , france , indonesia spain , portuges.a little bit maybe i wish can talk with u both and collaboration 😅❤🎉😊
Wow, keep going; what a nice job! Admiro la capacidad de aprender idiomas, sto iniziando questo stesso processo. Não sei até onde vou conseguir. Mes respects pour vous.
Hey Tim, excelent conversation!
I understand but l can not speak. Words dont come to my mind. When l speak the language. I am thinking too much to find the right words. Some people advised me to self talk and mirror talk. I wanna ask you. Did you practice self talk or mirror talk. Is it useful for speaking ? Do you have more advice for me ?Please please please ( I am learning english spanish and portuguese)
LOL you mean my dear friends Richard and Luca... we know each other for years and meet often. As for languages we all 3 share many Western languages, but I live most my life in Japan and am a Japanese citizen using Asian languages for more than 40 years (Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Lao, Vietnamese, Korean, Nepali, Indonesian/Malay... that is were we differ... I am much older than Richard and Luca so I have had more time to learn.
That's great to hear but I would rather speak less languages at a very high level than speak more languages just to impress. I learnt languages to pick up women now I use them to preach Christ and it is amazing how much the Holy Spirit helps in reminding you stuff and facilitating language learning like he did on day of Pentecost@@polyglotdreams
Butchering might be a bit overstated, it's understandable, but e.g. your x, j, q initals are wrong, -ue final is wrong (in 学) and tones overall a little wonky. Definitely better than the other guy though.
Perhaps it was a bit overstated, but your pronunciation definitely needs quite a bit of work if your goal is to sound natural. But it is at least comprehensible, which is the most important thing.

I have had about 5 decades of practice. You are still very young and new to speaking multiple languages.
Enjoy watching you guys, very inspiring!
Thanks for sharing that.
I was already quite impressed with your accomplishments, but I didn’t realize your Portuguese was so good.
I love Portuguese... I read all the novels of Jorge Amado and listened to Brazilian music MPB for 1000s of hours
Thanks, Tim. I always enjoy your vids. So inspiring. 😊
Bud, great to hear from you again! I really appreciate your input 🙏

It was fun hearing you both talk in different languages. I am studying, spanish and german, how do you prioritise the learning of the languages?

Tim's Brazilian Portuguese is very good. Personally, I don't use slang. It doesn't sound nice.
Thanks... I am not so familiar with the slang of recent decades... the last time I was in Brazil was 1984.

Impressive amount of languages, but it's a bit weird to say Chinese is not that hard while butchering the pronunciation that hard 🤔
