I would like to just personally thank you for these amazing and informative videos for the exams. I have my actual GCSE exam tomorrow and this is great revision material and has helped me to memorise and summarise the key points in the poems. I have just watched over all 16 and am very grateful, hope this helps me to do my best in my exam!!! Thank you :)
@@Ameera_Khan no but they really helped me get my head round what my teachers were saying as the lessons were so rushed. Especially in lockdown, my teachers didn't teach at all.
mr bruff, i have my GCSE exams tomorrow and I have been banging out your 5 min revision vids. i've watched all of them and am confident for tomorrow's exam! thank you so so much you are a life-saver!! also my friend (civan) really enjoys your videos and has watched the long revision lessons for the poetry cluster and has even asked our english teacher to put on your videos for our lesson ! once again, thank you very much :)
Okay so for this question, you will need to analyse three quotes from each poem. Once you have done that, pair the quotes one from each poem. This is so you can compare them. The structure you follow is TRME. T- response to task ( use the words in the questions for this) R- the quotes EMBED THEM!!! M- point out the methods ( adjective verbs etc...) E- what effect does this quote have on the reader THATS FOR ONE QUOTE The second quotes do it again but for the other poem. This is in the same paragraph. Our school does this all the time and all of us get grade 8 and grade 9 for this structure
Tunas cam never stop moving 8nless they die maybe its a metaphor for the pilot as when he stopped and turned around it was as tho he died to his family
hi could you please see if my Mr birling analysis is good or not be honest Arthur Birling is seen as an egotistical, dominant patriarchal figure ,this can be seen as symbolically he is placed at the top of the table and the use of the imperative "This has nothing to do with you Sheila, now run along" and the condescending quote"I don't like your tone".Arthur Birling also believes he has a sense of wisdom and experience as he said "I'm talking as a hard headed practical man of business". Priestley undermines arthurs intelligence by the use of dramatic irony, since the play was set in 1912 but written in 1945 the audience is aware of the two world wars and the sinking of the titanic both which Birling claimed to not happen as he states "Unsinkable ,absolutely Unsinkable" and "The germans dont want war nobody wants war" this leads the audience to believe Arthur as a traditional fool since he was incorrect on his proud predictions the audience is also led to believe is also wrong on his capitalist beliefs and selfish way of life "A man has to mind his own business and look after himself" and "A man has to make his own way look after himself and his family too-of course." Arthur Birling is used by Priestley as a representation of a self-serving capitalistic society and shows how flawed capitalism is by showing that Birling is a traditional fool.
