@@trevorporter6528thank god? I don’t know if a lot of people are looking forward to rebooting Superman to be young again while we just had that recently and in most media…. People have been waiting for a portrayal of an older Superman who isn’t “figuring out his powers” again, and actually fights other super powerful OUTSIDE earth, or facing galaxy threats. But James Gunn got rid of Henry Cavill literally after he said we are working with Cavill on this and had him do an official return post, only to get rid of him two months later…. With an idea he had barely a year before when in 2021 he had zero intentions on doing a Superman film as he didn’t see in any fun in the character. It’s just sad he’s alienated so many people have been waiting for YEARS for Cavill to have another shot as an OLDER, more mature Superman. That’s why this is such a wild thing to do.
In retrospect the beginning is sadly hilarious, it's like watching a little kid being excited that the family is about to go to disney world only to find out later that your dad is abandoning his family and the trip cancelled
I like how in the last video he didn't want to spoil the 'big surprise' but then in this video, with his costume in the thumnail and title, he might as well have just said it anyway.

i get what your saying, but if you paid attention to social media the rock was hinting and mentioning pretty much the whole time that superman was coming. so it kinda is already known. but I get it you don't want to be spoiled, but also remember this is Angry Joe, the biggest Superman Fan. you should have seen this coming 😂

The only promo I have seen for this is the trailers, and occasional ads that I get on other platforms. I still think it's a bit ill-advised from Joe to directly spoil it in his title and thumbnail, but it's whatever really.

In the comics, the "90's skateboard kid" becomes Adam's stepson, as he ends up marrying his mother, and then shares his power with both of them. If they stick true, the kid accidentally causes an internation incident with his powers, which breaches Waller's rule about staying in Khandiq. When Supes responds to the incident, that is where the fight with Black Adam can occur.
Ahhh, that's interesting to know. I'm not a DC comics fan so I'm coming to a lot of this pretty fresh. I mean, I know the basics, but not details like this. Thank you!

You’re the first reviewer I’ve seen mention the curl! That had me flipping out. I smiled the entire way home… Also I’m not sure that Waller sent Supes to him. I think he just heard their conversation and showed up.
The bright blue suit, the beautiful S emblem and the curl, it was perfect. Cavill is Superman literally straight from the comics. I hate that his tenure as the character has been so mistreated.

The lady didn't just say Shazam! to free him from his prison, she also saved his life! On top of that, she's the mother of the kid who reminded him of his son. Also, she's a citizen of Kandaq. So she's one of his fellow people who are oppressed similar to how he was. He didn't attack her initially because she didn't immediately attack him like Intergang did.
She didn't know it was a prison to start with...

Maybe she wasn't sure what was sin there, but she knew he was trapped somewhere and she was able to read the text, which I believe said that it was a prison. She knew exactly what she was doing when she said Shazam! She wasn't going to release him until Intergang showed up, so she clearly did it to give herself a chance to escape from Intergang.
I watched it last night. She didn't know till it was explained to her later. She thought it was to summon him, not prison

It doesn't really matter if she knew he was imprisoned; she still freed him. That at least gave him pause, if not made him a bit grateful to her.

The best plothole is that the main villain is descendant of the original king who did the crown, and has enough eternium to make couple of bikes, but not enough to make another crown for himself. Like come on. You had enough insight to know that his kid cried when being shot with an arrow, but not enough to have a knowledge to make another crown?

@@Antwannnn not enough action, unnecessarily goofy, forgettable villain without any cool or memorable fight scenes with him, inconsistent pacing & plot, & stupid mcguffin.
Now, I'm not insinuating that Black Adam was perfect, but it understood what it was & just focused on giving us good, solid action sequences & the heroes looks dope af. Both movies had inconsistent CGI though.

Love to see AJ's enthusiasm and happiness when it comes to Superman! It's almost infectious.
That being said, I like how Alex is steadfast and critical when he needs to be. It's almost like he's the voice of reason, the objectionable critic who calls out the dog shit and explains why it's not ok to give a film a pass.

Heck, if Superman works with Amanda Waller, who has no problem getting civilians killed to cover up messy government secrets, why would he have a problem with Black Adam, who's not nearly as bad as the Suicide Squad.
Then it’s not really Black Adam. You neuter the character and make the only reason to fight him yet another villain that they have to team up to fight. That’s not real character conflict.
Ok I got a good idea on how to tie these movies together.
Let's say in Shazam 2, Billy and his siblings..... they suck at being superheroes and the 2 witches are about to take over the world with their magic, as you do. In the process, Billy and the Shazam Family come to the realization that the metal from Black Adam's homeland has the power to negate the staff the witches are using.
Billy goes to Kahndaq and steals the metal without permission from Black Adam, pissing him off. The Shazam Family stops the witches and wins the day, but then Black Adam shows up and utterly beats the breaks off of Billy and his siblings before taking Kahndaq's metal back. Word gets back to Superman and the two square off from there?
Honestly, that seems like the best way to go about turning Black Adam into a true antagonist for the Justice League while tying him to Shazam and getting the fight The Rock wants between Superman and Black Adam. Any thoughts? Too back AJ won't read this.

I agree honestly i never been a fan of henry cavill superman dont get me wrong hes great as kal-el but i think clark kent is just as as important and i never seen clark kent in him same problem i had wiv new batman r patz sucked as brice wayne dc movies arent in a postion to take risks with changing characters personalities but saying all that as i have done recently i think angry jowle show is way to critical of everuthing i was expecting a mediocre movie and i ended up quite enjoying it not a masterpeice but would put it on par with some of mcu early movies a good stepping stone in the right direction

They didn't even ATTEMPT to make Black Adam a villain or an antihero during any point in this movie. They just immediately made him a hero who happened to kill the villains instead of knocking them out.
I need an antihero movie where they explore more into the idea of being an antihero rather than just saying “Killing bad”
Well for one u can't kill black adam off. And for another, we will probably get shazam vs black adam and supes vs black adam some time as well. So don't worry, if dj knows what he's doing, we will get those movies where he's the bad guy.

I think the movie should’ve been like “ *Sicario* “ where : A young, hopeful superhero gets his first assignment “Assist with the overthrowing of the Kahndaq government” and that he has to link up with his partner (Black Adam) and as this young, hopeful, by the books hero gets to know Adam he’s introduced to a morally grey world.. and by the end Adam’s ruthlessness had rubbed off on the hero - and the hero retires his costume… maybe he goes insane and is sent to Arkham. But the hero’s innocence also rubs off on Adam - leaving them both changed by the end of the movie..

They should’ve shown Black Adam as an antihero with him wanting revenge somehow at the end against the wizard, leading to him hunting down Shazam now. Shazam has his movie, then at the end it shows him looking out across the city at Black Adam and cuts to black without any dialogue or fight.
