- Here are a series of sequences I colourized from the first feature length stop motion film "Le Roman de Reynard". It blew my mind that this was completely designed and shot by Polish-Russian animator Ladislas Starevich and his daughter Irene Starewicz in 1929-1930. Later released in 1937.
A large influence on Wes Anderson's "Fantastic Mr. Fox". If you enjoyed this I highly recommend watching the full movie.
This has to be the best coloring job I've ever seen in a black and white movie it looks so natural with the rest of the movie and actually enhances a lot of it. Fantastic work!
This is unreal. I literally thought this was colourized as part of an official boutique remastered version coming out. Amazing job
I am really impressed by your great work, I hope we can be lucky enough to see the full movie in color, it really is a work of art and you implemented the colors too well, keep it up!
This is the weirdest stop motion I've ever seen. "Proto-Fantastic Mr. Fox"
4:48 I can’t be the only one who giggles at this moment of wonderful comedy? Even the sound is perfect.
Damn, thank you for sharing, the animation is incredible to be from especially considering what era this is from, definitely going to check out the full film. Love seeing your take color wise on all of these classics by the way!
I would ask for nothing else, if we got a 4k blu ray release of this film. This is my favourite film of all time.
Where is the rest?
Can't believe this film was made in 1937.
It was actually animated in 1929, the audio was recorded in 1937, shortly before its release.

Ivebeen a fan if this film for decades and it's never looked better. I love the pallette you've decorated the original with.
Do you plan a limited bluray release? Have you colorised the entire film? I literally need it!
Unfortunately I haven't colourized the entire film. I'm not sure who owns the rights but I would need their permission to release full DVD's.
I second the motion! Bluray, please!
@@RumbleDogPictures hey, just so you know, this film is in the public domain. Nobody has any exclusive rights to it, and you are free to alter and distribute this film in any way you like, commercially or otherwise. Moonflix has been doing the same thing for quite a while; it's perfectly legal :D
you did a fantastic job. I knew fantastic mr. fox reminded me of starevich work's! i really love putting these old movies up in the bg while i work
Would be fantastic to see the full length of this film colorized, it brings out so many details that get washed out by the b&w version.
Great work!
The animator wasn't russian but polish
Wonderful! Thank you for giving this a beautiful lift.
Was this perhaps the first ever animated feature-length film to depict a fox out of curiosity?
Well this is certainly better than the colorized version of "Plan 9 From Outer Space" 😁
When they add to stop motion to move fast it look like a 3d motion picture half claymation
This is not a children's cartoon I suppose)
You sir, are a magician.
Thank you for this.
If there is a god my dreams will be influenced by this
Seriously they really put a lot of simple motion in this for that day and age
Man I wish we could get a US dvd release of this film
GREAT JOB !
Just a mistake at 3:00 it's the wolf so he is not supposed to be ginger
He has the good colors during the ending fight
Thanks for letting me know, they look so similar in black and white I just assumed it was the fox. I almost made the same mistake with the wolf's children when they're watching their dad fight.
@@RumbleDogPicturesYou're welcome. You can be proud of your work ! This movie is my favorite one. As a French I'm proud that this is a french film !
Excellent work!! I'm covering this film in my next video, I'll link your wonderful colorization in the description!
6:21 I love ❤
Does anyone know anything about a stop-motion Puss in Boots made probably before 1970? I have a vague memory of seeing it in grade school around '70 to '74.
This is absolutely beautiful!
Beautifully done!
This is sick!!! I watched the whole thing in B&W and this is amazing!!!!
Thank you for sharing 👍🏻
Beautiful
So beautiful!
Amazing job! ❤
Very nice!
