Similar story with my first marathon. Was going for 3:45, hit all the splits until mile 20 but then my peroneal tendons on both legs gave up. Had to walk to a 4:24 finish. It was an excellent lesson though. No matter how much you research or train you need to run at least a couple of marathons to understand your body and how you need to battle the beast called a marathon. Going for my 3rd one this fall with the goal to hit 3:45 this time!
Thank you for sharing! That’s crazy that that happened to you as well, nearly the same thing. You are so right though. You got stronger though and your body should know what to expect on the 3rd one. Good luck this fall!
Thank you for sharing. Vancouver marathon is on my list of races for 2025.
Thank you for watching.
Awesome, you'll really enjoy it and the city!

love the content!
Thank you for watching and the support!
Nice video, congrats. I didn't realize the elevation change there! (fyi, Toronto Waterfront Marathon is much larger..)
Thanks🙂 Vancouver had around 25000 participants this year between half and full marathon. They advertise it as Canada’s largest marathon 🤷♂️
You forgot to mention the endless hill ascent at 10K and then the long descent into 21K. Both legs killers.
That is very true. They are not to be underestimated!
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Nice video! I thought Toronto was biggest marathon in Canada?
I think Toronto Waterfront marathon is Little bigger but Vancouver is the largest point to point marathon.
