I like your videos. Thanks for making them. The only time I installed headlight screens was on a trip with a 1/2 truck from Edmonton to Yellowknife, back in 1984. 500km of gravel after passing the Alberta Northwest Territory border. Those screens earned their keep! The gaps in yours look like they could let little rocks through, but maybe that would just crack the plastic a bit. Back in 84 the whole headlight would just be gone from a crack in the glass. Thanks again!

The screen is a good upgrade and hopefully stops the big rocks , Sounds like you have some awesome memories on two wheels and that is what I’m hoping to do,

Nice. I bought T-Rex crash/engine guard, radiator guard, luggage rack and their bash plate that comes up higher that protects the exhaust. It has a plate that can be removed to access the oil filter. Honda center stand, Motortek pannier racks, rear mud flap and Barkbuster handguards. Like you, a waterproof box on the luggage rack except mine came for harbor freight.
How are you liking all the mods mate ?
Sounds like you got a sweet setup, I love the rear waterproof pelican box, it’s flat for putting things in ,locks tight and no rattles👍
Great, the only change I made was remove the large R-Rex sliders on the crash bar and replace them with wheel spools as sliders.

got this already ! Good stuff; one mistake is putting on center stand and adventure pegs; very hard to get to the side stand.
That’s the main reason I never got centre stand,haven’t needed it yet 🤞

Hi Jimmy. Mods look great. Do you know if you can keep the centre stand and fit the bash plate? I know some bash plates on the 500X require the centre stand to be removed. Thanks, Ray.
I believe so ,I went with SRC for that reason, I would just give them a call as the friendly as and wealth of knowledge when it comes to what works, I did and they even thru in a bonus

put on SRC bars also but the right side is too close to the body. ; need access for any lights to be mounted
I believe my bars are the original, there is a new src crash bars and I’m not sure how they fit?

I have the same crash bars and bash plate from SRC. Have you had any issues with engine vibration with the crash bars at higher revs? Mine tend to really buzz around 5000 rpm
Hey mate I had the vibrations also but after the crash bars & bashplate & footpegs the vibration seems less,I also rang my dealer and he said most bikes have a certain point with vibrations as they are chain driven.
loosen up the bolts first then start the engine for 1~2 mins then after turning off the engine - tighten it up starting from the front to back.
When changing the oil and filter, looks like you have to remove the bash plate. Is that easy or difficult?
Bashplate removal is very easy as it attaches with hex bolts to the brackets that is on the bike frame ,so it’s easy removed,I haven’t tried to change oil and filter with it on but looks like you could in a pinch.
a shad top box mounts ez on the rear platee ?
Not 100% sure as we can not get shad box in Australia at the moment.The plate has lots of mount positions so I’m sure it wouldn’t be to hard to mount.

can the mirrors be moved out off the windshield brackets ?
The mirrors are good where they are for me.Not sure why you would want them more up front as they are out the way and provide a good view of the lane/road behind you.
Who makes the luggage plate and the nice plastic box?
Hi mate ,SRC Adventure moto,I believe they don’t have any stock ,the box is from a auto shop it’s like a pelican box for camera gear.
use a std; Shad mounting plate on the std rear plate and your good to go for a shad box

Thank you for commenting and yes planning on a two week adventure trip of Tasmania,I will be doing some videos of my camp setup and testing gear in Australia first,I will be going with my friend and mechanic Micheal and he has a Indian ftr so that will be interesting.
