@@beckettferguson4888 I’m not saying people should change their career plans or give up on personal goals. What I’m saying is the advice to automatically break up just because high school is done is arbitrary at best.

Thank you for keeping mine and her dream of high school sweethearts alive, you're a saint!
I’m gonna be honest Incoming freshman usually don’t have that much control over their classes. It’s not always as simple as just “not taking” a Friday class
Yeah exactly like I was just told by my advisor that i had to take my math class every day, including friday. Monday, wednesday, friday classes are so common too like i wish but we don't control that.
Yeah, for my Friday class, everything was taken except that Friday class. My Tuesday class is at night, and I would've chosen something else if that class wasn't the only one not completely full.
A lot of this is awful advice. You don’t necessarily get a choice in your class schedule, especially freshman year. In the working world you don’t just “get fridays off”. Taking even just one class on a Friday keeps you busy and focused on school. And if you’re so quick to dump your boyfriend because of a location change, you’re easily the problem and I hope he finds someone worth his time.

You owe money with community college as well & plus community college limit your degree level it’s a good starter to get your associates and then transfer but if you got high career path goals you may need student loans & to attend graduate & university colleges
Pro tip, don’t listen to this girl. If you have a strong relationship in high school don’t break it just because of university, you need an actual reason why the relationship isn’t working to justify breaking up. Almost all of the strongest marriages are between people who started dating young. Theres been tons of study’s done that say that as the amount of relationships someone has increase, male or female, the less likely it is that when they marry someone the marriage will last. The likelihood of being happy during that marriage also decreases every time the amount of previous partners rises. My parents started dating at 15 and have been married happily for 34 years. My uncle started dating his wife at 17 and has been married for 40 years. I may agree to the statement ‘don’t compromise your dreams or where you want to go to school just to stay with a high school boyfriend, and don’t try long distance since it will never work in university’ but her take is stupid. Also, what degrees can you take where you have a small enough course load and enough freedom to not take Fridays classes? Anything to do with science or engineering makes you take 5-7 classes a semester with at least three labs a semester and buisness schools usually have you taking the same, except their labs are presentations or case studies. That leaves art’s degrees, which aren’t worth taking in the first place. I’m in engineering, but the arts options I’ve had to take have all been so unbelievably easy that I didn’t have to study, outside of homework assignments, even once, and yet the lowest grade I got in any of the 5 classes I took was 96. Anything that easy isn’t worth 20 grand a year to be learning.
My parents started dating after college and they have been married for 18 years. Grandparents started dating after high school. I don’t think any of my family are high school sweethearts. I know my pastor and his wife were high school sweethearts but that’s about it.
Ur statement about needing a reason to justify a break up is dumb, you shouldn't need a reason to break up with someone. If I don't want to date someone anymore, I should have the right to end it because I want to.
not her saying that your shouldn’t date your bf from high school in college like bffr a lot of people end up marrying their high school sweetheart plus imagine saying to your partner “sorry i have to break up with you cuz im going to college” like what that’s so stupid. don’t break up with someone just because you’re going to college if you have a healthy and nontoxic relationship. plus please don’t drink in college and don’t drink period but especially in college. college is a place to learn not to mess around and party, you’ll have time for that afterwards.
exactly my boyfriend and I plan to stay together and try to make it work. Even if it will be difficult we are both willing to try. Plus I need to be focused on my studies anyway, not trying to find new potential partners lmao

Ask for help. How is this not on there? If youre struggling with something and you have an exam soon, don't assume it won't be on the test because IT ALWAYS IS! Ask your professors, ask the people around you, get a group together. It's not high school where you can just not study and still get a good score.
