explore/exploit also is such a great concept, thank you so much for these longer videos. i listen carefully and lots of the time i discover new, highly applicable topics and concepts from these videos that otherwise i might never have come across. explore/exploit is one such highly applicable concept that i've had it on my mind ever since i first watched your other longer video, before i did any incremental reading on it (i still have it sitting in my priority queue)

Personally, I use this effect jointly with the priority queue as a buffer against reading. Rationally, I know there's too little time to process everything, but my emotional brain does not prioritize in the moment. So I import most things into SuperMemo to protect myself from wasting my time in the moment. I do this intentionally with the conscious knowledge that the vast majority of my priority queue might never be processed
    *tl;dr:import now, ask questions later*

in other words the priority protections goes lower and lower, no wonder why Woz change it to position rather than percentage in SM19, as four decimal points was no longer enough LOL

@PleasurableLearning He did? That sucks bad tbh, sounds like SM19 so far is a downgrade in every aspect the more I keep hearing about it, starting with the lock in to 1 computer. The relative nature of the priority queue and some uncertainty when it comes to the exact position is a feature I greatly rely on, same as the adjustable level of randomization

only the priority protection (stats window) not the element priority (element window)

Hello, SM19. I have a problem where my answer area is always very small, even though I've set up the format in the template. I can only create my format template by using Ctrl A. However, if I use the cloze template, the automatically generated answer area becomes smaller again.

That is a well-known non-implementation. The item is templateless as has no concept, os you get the default looks. I actually covered this in my recent videos from James. What I suggest is to have a dummy concept "to do" or "imports" so you always have a concept that can autoapply the templates
