Never backed down. Broke Conor, twice. Baller hotsauce. While he was never a champion, he made it. Absolute one of the best to never do it. Future hall of famer for sure.
Honestly he was never in the right place at the right time Conor beat Jose Aldo to capture feather weight belt then beat Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt… he never could someone like khabib maybe not even Charles
I might be biased because he's from my hometown but the man showed me that you don't have to have the belt to be a Champion. He's been in how many FOTN and FOTY? he's competed with men who are in their primes who were bred to fight and did so when they were toddlers. He's taken brutal losses and never hid his emotions. He really is a fucking modern day Samurai.
Being from Louisiana myself Dustin is definitely my favorite fighter and even if he does retire I think he doesn't have anything else to prove he's a champion in my eyes
The man has nothing left to prove to us. He is truly the people's champ. But I wouldn't mind seeing him fight for the belt (and hopefully getting it) one last time
Nicely done, Clinched Teeth! The Diamond is a legend. Every single fight he was in was entertaining, and that's all I could ever ask for from a mixed martial artist, champion or not.
Dustin is my favorite fighter. It will be sad if he retires, but I totally get it if he does. He left an undeniable legacy in the MMA community. I wish him the best of luck, no matter what he chooses to do
He's definitely an amazing fighter... Top 5 favorite yes... As far as top 5 best, I think it's #1 Jon Jones #2 GSP #3 Anderson Silva #4 Islam #5 Volk... Next would be Khabib but we will never know what he could have done! He definitely could have been the 🐐... The only weakness was his striking
Thank you so much for this video. My favorite fighter of all time, so much respect for this guy. Someone I can truly relate to, and someone who has inspired me to pick myself up and be the best version of myself at different times in my life. Mad respect, Dustin… thanks for all you’ve given us fans. I think I might shed a tear the day my boy retires 😂.. it’ll for sure be the end of an era.
I'm a big MMA fan, Dustin Porier has always been one of my favourites. And I legit cried when he lost to Islam... regardless, though, amazing man, and it was a wonderful career! Also, another great video!
Love Dustin always an entertaining fighter. Shame about his last bout getting submitted and I think he's considering retiring right? If he won I think he would have. One I'd the best to ever do it for sure. His ability to be tired and still retain his speed and accuracy is a testament to his dedication to the fight game. I think he was always a boogeyman of the division if you ended up on the other side of the cage against him you knew you were in for a brutal, fast and furious fight. He doesn't let up, the pressure he puts on his opponents is non stop. I hope he gets to retire and ride off into the sunset. I think UFC should recruit him as a commentator for sure. He speaks well and is obvious very smart when it comes to the sport. I think he would be a great commentator.
Dustin is a better fighter and will go down as a bigger legend than most fighters who have belts. Compare Dustin to Jones. Jones is the fake GOAT and been a champion for over 10 years…but Dustin is the one people will remember fondly
He’s beat champions and lost to them just like one he’s a champ to me though he’s come up short each time actually love his heart and fighting style respect brother
Just my lowly opinion, but the belt doesn’t even cross my mind when I look at or back upon fighters. How they did it and how fun they were to watch is all that matters and Dustin is among my favorite
Fuck yeah!!! Dieing for New content no 🧢 glad to hear from you again watching this soon as I get home. Then I'll probably rewatch it a hundred more times lol
Islam saying that means a lot! He's one of the greatest fighters in the 🌎 and if he stays healthy, he will surpass Jon as the 🐐. If Alex moves up to HW and wins that 👑, he becomes the 🐐. IMO, those are the only 2 fighters in the running for that status... DP is an animal! Amazing fighter and good, humble man.
Dustin is just 35. Still got a bit more in the tank. He needs to crank it up to 1000% this time around against submissions. I still believe he can win and it's gonna be the sweetest
Folks beat enough prior champs and did good enough against 2 goats and the best submission artist ever for me to consider his interim belt an undisputed belt I've followed Dustin since wec , but when Conor beat him and I got to witness him pick himself up and rebuild himself, even coming up short duirjng the rebuild and still push it . That inspired me, and to this day when I'm struggling, I think about how Dustin must have felt on those losses and how it must have felt to finally come full circle and tko his nemesis. Or him pushing thru those gaethje calf kicks😮😮. I dont watch MMA because I'm some violence obsessed sociopath.. I watch it because it inspires me. And Dustin is the definition of inspiration
Great dude in & out of the octagon. Regardless of never holding a title I can't help wonder if he was asked if he could remove his 2 wins vs Conor or hold a belt if given the choice. For me those 2 wins, especially the last one had to be as much or more satisfying than holding a belt-- especially with how personal McGregor made it.
Funny that he's talking about fucking Miller like he's a legend and he's already been in 25 fights then. He was such a good and fresh commentator at the Periera Vs Jiri, 303. I think Dustin has a lot to give at ESPN, I hope he will.
To me Dustin is the golden boy of the mma that everyone loves, but I find him to be boring. He's a pretty boy that can fight but is never the most talented.
I'll keep saying he would have been Champion had he not chosen the third Conor fight but he sold out and i hope the millions he made get him a replica Undisputed belt

Conor sucks...... but he smashed him in the first fight. And the HOF is missing loads of better fighters. You really tried his hot sauce?

One of my favorite fighters, and an all-around terrific human being who gives back to the community. This was an excellent coverage of his career.
What an amazing person outside of the ring. That's what sets him apart from the other best in the cage
