I LOVE YOU!!!!!!! THANK YOUUUUUU! trying to animate characters in blender vs cascadeur is synonymous to trying to make clothing simulations in blender vs marvelous. GAME CHANGER
Great video! I learn a lot! I wish you would do another more expansive video regarding all the polishing tools and how to "read" them within your workflow. I am not good at reading and utilizing trajectories, autophysics etc. Your suggestion for the fulcrum motion cleanup was very helpful. I am learning to pose my character, but I need to be able to cleanup and polish after I finished the poses. Maybe you will have some videos ideas for that. Keep up the good work!
Thank you :) I will keep that in mind. Creating these videos require a lot of time to get to know the tools better and then plan the content. However I would also like to get more into these topics.
You can export your animation as an fbx (or usd, or dae) and import that file to Blender. I would recommend to first have the character in your scene in Blender, then import the exported fbx to the same scene and use that action on the original armature. You can also try this addon: ruclips.net/video/3J5R1G-g8Ig/видео.htmlsi=FrtDfr7TMqBkCdQY Unfortunately it doesn't work on MAC, but should work fine on windows and linux.
So you still need to pay that 99 dollar indie edition then.. making it not free. Only within cascadeur itself. You can't use it anywhere unless you buy a licence. @AronNemeth95
Do you know if there is auto physics for the fingers to clean up already posed animation? For example, fingers clipping through the body or clipping through other fingers. Are there rigid body collisions in Cascadeur for those mentioned situations? Does auto physics in general help with clipping issues for example arm twisted too far or arm or hand going through body or thigh?
But this is not free.. yes, doing all the stuff within the basic free licence works. But you cannot export it, you are not able to use it outside of cascadeur unless you get at least an 99 dollar indie licence. Unless somehow you can import .casc to blender, maya or unreal.

Sir, Im trying to import UE5.5 animation into cascadeur as fbx to clean up the animation in cascadeur and re-dispatch it back to UE5.5. Can you please suggest any relevant video/link if there exists one in your channel?
Hi. I did this process exactly like the video, but it only animates the first frame. I only have one single pose .Do you know how I can solve the problem?
Make sure that the whole interval is selected on the timeline where you want the animation. And check that reference is shown correctly on that interval
Hello friend, thank you so much for sharing super useful video. I just have a small question that the video reference was gone after saving the file and open again. Do you know how to fix it? Thank you.
Hello, Did you delete or move the folder where the image sequence was generated? If so you can try to restore it. Otherwise you will need to reimport the video
What are your pc specs? I selected about 200 frames from a tiktok dance video just to test and it took me about 16minutes to render (I'm using a RTX3080ti with a intel i9 11th gen) i saw yours only took 3 minutes that's why i'm curious.
Hello! .. I've completed the Quick Rigging, imported the 11 second video clip which previews the 11 seconds, or at least the part I want, yet when I click 'Mocap', it only wants to replicate the first frame only!? HELP!?...
You need to select the interval on the timeline, where you want the mocap to be applied. So if your source video is 30 fps you need to select around 330 frames.
Thank you for the detailed explanation! I can definitely see myself using this in my workflow; I have just one question, are all the features used in this video available in version 2023.1? Can anyone confirm this. Thanks
Every feature I showed here were already present in 2023.1, but the motion capture got much better in 2023.2. So if you can I would recommend to update to it.
Why am I getting this error when I'm trying to enable autophysics. " interval length for selected center of mass is 3 frames ". Does anyone have solution for this
You have apply physics on selected interval enabled probably. Try to select the interval where you want to apply physics or turn off apply on interval.
Can you import two or more reference videos in the same scene? Lets say you had a front and a side view recorded. This would be awesome I think. The videos would of course have to be in sync before import, I guess.
Importing two videos is possible, you just need to set two different directory where the image sequence will be generated. But unfortunately when generating mocap only one reference can be used.
@@razaverses You can see an example here: ruclips.net/video/Q5WlS47jQ1w/видео.htmlsi=NPsylNhPWWcjkrm5&t=115 It really depends on your video so I can't say for sure, but most likely wont work as expected
So I used the mocap for a 30 second dance I made. But the final product is the character doing most of the motions correctly. EXCEPT... My character is floating too high. So it looks like my character is on his tip toes the entire time. Is there a simple solution to fix that? I dont want to have to drag my character down and flatten the foot (shift+Z) for every single one of the hundreds of frames. So in short I guess I am asking whats the best way to fix that? (My work around, which I suppose isnt too bad I suppose. Is that I just Mocap individual key frames or key poses. Then just use Interpolate Bezier Clamp the gaps. Now its not terrible but just takes waaay longer than coming up with a solution that fixes hundreds of frames all at once. )
If deactivating the toe controllers with Shift Z fixes your problem, you can do it on the whole interval. You need to select the interval on the timeline, activating the work on interval with the red button above the object properties and then pressing Shift Z

Unfortunately there is no self collision yet neither collision with other meshes. So that's something you have to do manually for now.

It was only recently that they restricted exports to only .casc. When he made this tutorial, the animation could easily be exported.
So it's outdated, he needs to remove the video
