Actually, it's the opposite. When you go inside some of them they are disappointed especially with the older homes. They just used a draftsman to put rooms together. Sometimes the lay out make no sense and they are not as elegant as you would thought. The new homes have more ambience.
Big up yourself! We're so glad you enjoyed the beautiful flowers and got to catch a glimpse of Jamaica's natural wonders. Stay tuned for more vibrant scenes and blessings from our island! Blessings.
Big up yourself for the kind words! We truly appreciate your support and enthusiasm for our adventures. The views were absolutely breathtaking, weren't they? It's comments like these that inspire us to keep exploring. Bless up and stay tuned for more beautiful tours!
Haha, glad you enjoyed that moment! Tom always knows how to bring a bit of humor to the journey. Thanks for watching and sharing a laugh with us. Big up!
Hey, we're thrilled you found us and are loving our content! Your positivity adds shine to our work. Do stick around as we've got lots more coming. Big up yourself! 🚙
One of my absolute favorite things about Jamaica is you can paint your house whatever color you like. It allows people to express themselves and its part of why we find these videos so interesting. Variety is the spice of life! New subscriber, thanks for showing us around 😊
We're glad you enjoyed the views of the neighborhood! Capturing the beauty and uniqueness of each place we visit is something we love to do. Thanks for appreciating the scenery with us. Stay tuned for more awesome views in our upcoming adventures!
Fences! they're a work of art - every one. The welder built a gate like Buckingham Palace gates for me! in SWSt.E, I'm going to stop being ticked off - seeing these style fences gives me a warm, proud feeling. 🇯🇲 ❤ 💚 🇯🇲
Absolutely love hearing that! Fences really are an art form, and it sounds like you've got a real masterpiece on your hands. Big up yourself for sharing those vibes! 🇯🇲 🇯🇲 Blessings!
We're so glad to hear you're enjoying the journey with us to new and beautiful places across Jamaica! It's truly heartwarming to know that we can inspire and share these experiences with you. Thank you for your love and support-it means the world to us. Love you guys back!
Elephant Man's house, with its distinctive features and the energy around it, definitely adds a unique touch to the area. Madge's comments highlight how diverse and vibrant the culture is, even through the lens of architecture and celebrity homes. Thanks for sharing this bit with us!
Great video. I mistakenly commented on another video that you should get your daily exercise not realizing you did this great video walking. Excellent scenery. Thank you Madge and Tom.
Madge, thank you for smiling . You are so pretty and you have a beautiful smile. Your husband is too hilarious. He brings joyfulness to the videos. Love u guys
I lived at the first house on the right on highland close..back in 1979..you can barely see it when the video starts...thanks for this and your link to your drive down riverside drive as I lived at 24 riverside back in 1973...if you could..do a tour of temple meads...which is off jacks hill and barbican road?..Judge Chutkan from the Trump case was our neighbor..thx in advance.
Thank you for the nice comment. I’m glad you found us, and that we found you. I added Temple Meads to our list of places we hope to visit someday. Big up yourself and blessings! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for this, as you showcased my childhood home!! The one with that “ impressive” driveway that went downhill. 😂 It wasn’t too bad once you learned how to drive in it. Our Mum taught my sister and I how to do hill starts on it. Over time we even learned how to reverse up and reverse down it, because of necessity!!🤣 One foolish person tried to turn around on the road using our driveway and his car got stuck sideways!!! He had to get it towed. The neighbourhood has changed a lot. Highland Close does continue up and over and links to Chancery Hall and has connection to Smokey Vale, and from there into Stony Hill. BTW, in case no one said, the community that is on the top of the hill where Mannings Hill road runs, is Amour Heights and West Oakridge. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I’ve walked that path many times coming home from school. Cheers!!
Big up yourself, and thanks for sharing those nostalgic memories with us! 😄 Sounds like that driveway gave you lots of valuable driving skills! The story about the car getting stuck sideways is classic 😂. Appreciate the update on Highland Close and the connection all the way through to Stony Hill. Also, big thanks for the info about Amour Heights and West Oakridge! Cheers to many more trips down memory lane! Bless up yourself!
I remember Heavendale. It’s an old neighborhood with old working class money. You should take a tour of Meadowbrook, too. Many of the old residents left back in the 70s and 80s to foreign. Aunty Mazie is right though. Many of the original owners died out, some leaving no will; others, their generations have no interest in the property. It’s sad. 🇺🇸🇯🇲
I have another video of Riverside Drive. ruclips.net/video/F0UZG7__0kQ/видео.html Thanks for commenting. I know you’ll enjoy the Riverside Drive video. Blessings ❤️❤️🇯🇲
Hello Tom & Madge. I enjoyed very much watching your videos. Your luxury house tour videos are awesome and they highlight Jamaica well. I have not been back to Jamaica 🇯🇲 in a long while. Is it possible for you when you have some time to tour the University of the West Indies campus in Kingston? Perhaps your next episode could be the college tours of Kingston. Also, can you please visit Hope Gardens and Zoo, located in uptown Kingston. Anyhow. Thanks a lot for showcasing Jamaica and I just want you to know that I’ve shared out your videos to many of my friends and family. Enjoy.!!
Yes, UWI and Hope Gardens next. May some parts of New Kingston, Norbrook, Barbican, Cherry Gardens, Beverly Hills, Stony Hill, Liguanea, the new parts of Constant Spring Rd, etc.
Thank you for your kind words! We truly feel fortunate to have each other and believe in taking great care of our relationship. Your encouragement and positive vibes mean a lot to us. We're committed to supporting and cherishing each other through all our adventures. Thanks for being a part of our journey and for sharing such a lovely sentiment!
Thank you so much for the encouragement and kind words! We're grateful for your support and blessings. It motivates us to keep improving and sharing our adventures. Here's to more journeys together!
Thanks guys for featuring my old home town back in the sixties) l grew up on border Ave with my beloved aunt, the view from #16) was spectacular.. although I'm now living in Florida.for decades,l still have vived memories, of the never ending black mango trees, still my favorite today at (73) next to it was that old #11) mangoes.. man it gives me the chills when I look back! Still a great place to reside... those old houses still stands today...
I'm from the UK. My ex lived on Highland Drive. I went to Meadowbrook High School in Havendale. My Grandpa built many of the houses in Meadowbrook/Havendale.
I grew up on Highland Close. Thank you for bringing me back there, so many pleasant memories. I didn’t read your title and thought to my self, hey! This street looks familiar!!! Pretty steep to walk on a hot day.
I like the extra lawn space outside the brick fences before the curb. That is something I rarely see up north. I have forgotten about that feature in Jamaican homes and I have been building architectural model houses out of card stock since I was ten in the U.S. Nice work
Glad you enjoyed the extra lawn space! We love showcasing features that remind folks of home, especially for those far away. Your cardstock models sound amazing; keep up the creative work! big up yourself!
Tom, Madge those palms at the entrance to the property are a variety of the giant phoenix palm. That looks like the canary island date palm. They grow quite tall and are one of my favourites. They however have some seriouly dangerous spikes on the boughs. You don't want one of them to stick you. At the right side of the next property entrance, the low palm-looking plant to the right of the garbage receptacle is actually a cycad - not a palm. Love it too. It's easier to control its growth in a large pot. When in the ground it's likely to spring off a lot of suckers or off-shoots and you have to frequently detach them else the plant can get disarranged and untidy. Finally to the right of the cycad is another variety of the phoenix palm - the phoenix roebelenii or the Pygmy Date Palm. It's a neater one for your garden if you have limited space. The boughs also have spikes but smaller ones of course. Keep up your tours. You guys are such a lovely couple.
We must take you along with us to help us identify these delightful plants and trees. 😂😂 We really appreciate your knowledge about the flora. Big up yourself and Nuff Respect!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🇯🇲
Thank you Tom and Madge , Havendale bring back memories , i use to live on Mayfield Drive ,the place is still beautiful , i love my Jamaica so green and lush and fruitful.. thank you guys..
It's wonderful to hear that our visit to Havendale brought back fond memories for you! Mayfield Drive is indeed a beautiful area, and we're so glad to know it still holds its charm. Jamaica's lush, green landscapes and fruitfulness are truly special, and it's a joy to share these beauties with you and everyone who holds Jamaica dear to their heart. Thank you for joining us on this journey and for your lovely message. We love Jamaica too, and it's our pleasure to bring a piece of it to you, wherever you may be now. Blessings ❤️🇯🇲❤️
East Mead is up there somewhere too I think. You can’t always go by google maps. I’ve found that out a few times reaching a dead end when the maps says otherwise. 😂😂😂

Wow! I lived in Havendale years ago before I went to live in Meadow Brook Estate. It looks so different now. Thanks for sharing. Haven't been there in years.

Madge is very fit and works at it. Tom needs to go on a walk every day to get fit. We’re enjoying your great comments. Be sure to subscribe and watch all our adventures. ❤️❤️🇯🇲❤️❤️
The homes in Havendale are older homes and are built strong. My grandmother grew up in Havendale, back then it was considered upperclass but I think now it’s more middle class. I still have family there.
Havendale.......working mans Beverly hills........even today those houses will catch a good penny.......built to last.......and of course there is the location.......

That was an upscale neighborhood in the 70s/80s. Homes are still gorgeous. I notice no sign of kids in the neighborhood. I wonder if it is now a predominately seniors' neighborhood. It seems to be a very quiet area.
The view from the top is spectacular.
Thanks for taking us along with you. It feels like I'm right there with you.
It is still a very quiet neighborhood, and the houses maintain their value.
I wonder too. I didn’t see any children off camera either.
Beautiful place I use to live in Heavendale some times ago thanks for sharing
Very cool. Thanks for watching. ❤️🇯🇲
Back in the day, I think up there was called Highland Circle, had friends living there 😊

I'm thinking of retiring in Jamaica
YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!🏝
You should. It’s paradise here.
Years ago, that was was to place to live. Had lots of returning residents. I heard developers are buying up the older homes and building apartments.
Developers are sure building a nice condominium up there.
@@RedButtonJournal I am now retired, tired of the cold, wish I had the money to buy a house in Havendale.
@@thepassportlife Same way. I like that area.
You sure this is heavendale.?I know Heavendale to be closer to redhills road on the flats.
Havedale is a good sized area. It does go from Red Hills Road and all the way to Mannings Hill.

The homes in Havendale are older homes and are built strong. My grandmother grew up in Havendale, back then it was considered upperclass but I think now it’s more middle class. I still have family there.
We really like the area. Madge’s sister used to live there.
@@RedButtonJournal oh nice! It is a nice area though.
Indeed, those houses are built to last.
@@glenoneill3950 Yes indeed. The walls are solid cinderblock. No sheet rock walls roun deh. 😂

Crime is still in effect and most of us are scared
Many do return when they retire. 👍👍👍
Many speak abt crime but many are also not able too because they are not in a good place financially to return home
@@winsomebarnett7067 Fact, so crime is used as an excuse.
Some are here having a hard life and left all there beautiful land back home to other people. Jamaican land retains its value

Am like you when it comes to dogs in JA. Love walking and looking at the beautiful houses but the dogs terrify me. Sad to say.
I don’t know why the dogs frighten me so. I’ve never ever been bitten by a dog. 😂😂😂

This area I’d consider to be safe. 👍
