"The Truth does not fear Investigation." LOL! Don't you just love this one? The (totally incorrect) assertion that the Holocaust is the one and only aspect of history whose memory is protected by denial laws is one of the oldest denier chestnuts. In fact, thousands are. Germany's 'Disparagement Laws', for example, ban denial of _all_ nazi crimes:-
Criminal Code, Section 130, Sedition: *"(3) Whoever publicly or in a meeting approves of, denies or downplays **_an act committed under the rule of National Socialism_** [...] incurs a penalty of imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or a fine."*
      www.gesetze-im-internet.de/englisch_stgb/englisch_stgb.html#p1241
In the Czech Republic, the Law Against Support and Dissemination of Movements Oppressing Human Rights and Freedoms of 2001 prohibits denial of _all_ nazi and _all_ communist crimes: *"The person who publicly denies, puts in doubt, approves or tries to justify **_Nazi or communist genocide or other crimes of Nazis or communists_** will be punished by prison of 6 months to 3 years."*
      www.ihgjlm.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Laws-Banning-Holocaust_Denial.pdf
If the "Truth Does Not Fear Investigation" brigade possessed one shred of credibility, then they would know this; and if they had one crumb of integrity, then we would see them complaining about all the other events we're banned from denying, belittling or trivialising in equal measure, wouldn't we? Do you see them doing that? Neither do I. Now show us one denier who does not trumpet his or her affirmation of the Holodomor, _which is covered by exactly the same laws in at least three countries,_ the primary sources for which consist of _eyewitness accounts and documents_ (which they do not accept for the Holocaust) from exactly the same 'Judeo-Bolsheviks' they flatly reject as liars on the Holocaust! Does that sound like the behaviour of normal, rational human beings to you?
Come off it. The existence of a set of laws is not the reason why people deny the Holocaust - and ONLY the Holocaust; it is just a convenient excuse for them to play the victim card, and one which only holds water as long as they misrepresent the facts. And since they readily accept other events subject to the same censure, deniers look ridiculous when they say only lies need laws to protect them. _The_ truth might not fear investigation, but _theirs_ demonstrably does.

He can twist facts, sometimes by taking things out of context.... and in that respect he has many similarities to pro-Allied historians, who do the same. Nevertheless, not all Irving argues and claims can be dismissed, not least his criticisms of Winston Churchill and allied war crimes. The Second World War is currently the most abused aspect of history.... by many sides... and most accounts are neither neutral nor well balanced, including that of David Irving. It is a pity David Irving did not have the discipline to stick to facts without taking things out of context, in order to put Hitler into a more positive light than he deserves. Nevertheless, he does have some quite solid critique of the Allies, which are hard to fairly disprove....

Mr. David Irving is not infatuated with Hitler to the extent that he loves the man. He simply understands that every leader, whether it's Churchill, Hitler or Roosevelt, is/was at heart a ruthless person in their pursuits. The difference between the leaders is minor at best. This gentleman is a wealth of knowledge. I wish he was my history teacher in school. People are stupid to think he’s anti Semitic, not true at all. First of all, history is written by the winners. Mr. Irving is a great researcher of the facts, he’d make a great detective. He just writes the facts. Had Germany won WW2, Mr. Irving would be banned in Germany because he would write all the facts on how the war was won, and some of those facts would be embarrassing for Germany. He does not deviate from the facts. He doesn’t play favorites. His book on Hitler’s war should be required reading for any historian. He is a proud Englishman who thinks Churchill bankrupted England during WW2. As an American, I respect Mr. Irving. I know he doesn’t think too highly of Americans mainly because of the way he was harassed while lecturing in the states. Most Americans respect and admire this gentleman. I feel bad that he has to go through all this crap with immigration just to give his in-person lectures in the states. For God sakes, this gentleman is harmless and is just a great historian and he’s no harm to anyone. Christ, most Americans aren’t even interested in history and couldn’t care less about it. He lectures for the students of history and political junkies. The only thing about him that’s alarming to a few people is Mr. Irving simply tells the facts to history. And to some people, they find the facts a little embarrassing. Let him alone, there’s only 20 or so people that are interested in his talks when he lectures in a city. It shows you how illiterate and dumbed-down we’ve become when it takes more energy to stop him from coming than it does to the actual people interested in listening to his talks.

He later accepted he was completely wrong on this. He done that while simultaneously claiming that because he couldn't find one document from Hitler explicitly stating that we should kill the Jews that we can ignore all the other people around Hitler saying that there was. That part where he said that only a tin can and a piece of barbed wire was ever found at Sobibor really staggered me. I mean we're talking about a quarter of million people that would have been killed there, and none of them dropped a piece of jewelry, a coin or lost a button while waking that final stretch to the undressing rooms? And none from the mounts of clothing and personal items that the victims left ever dropped to the ground while being moved. Not to speak of the SS guards and executioners, the Ukrainians and the "Sonderkommando" that lived there permanently, must have been several hundred or thousands of people. They all must have eaten, the SS men at least drank frequently, and supposedly had orgies, and they never left any rubbish, the way all human habitation does? Or is the suggestion that the Germans bulldozed the entire top-layer of earth away too?
I also think the suggestion that the methods of execution, ways of disposing of the bodies, and site of the graves etc. are trivial questions, is absurd. One of the largest massacres in word history, and a unique one in the way it was carried out, and the methods are an irrelevancy? If anything, whether or not Hitler knew, or how much he knew is the trivial question, although I understand that he's coming from a very particular point of view.
