  • "The Father of St. Louis Ragtime," Tom Turpin, only wrote one surviving popular song during World War I, entitled "When Sambo Goes to France." This is one of a number of player piano rolls I recorded at the home of the late Trebor J. Tichenor in St. Louis, MO, May 23, 2012.

I was familiar with this wonderful piano roll performance. I have a piano roll scan of it and I'm glad to finally listen to it from a real piano! Thanks!

Hey, great tune! I think that piano is more out of tune than your piano Adam.
