All i have listed can happen in an instant and life is changed forever. What he may have built financially to safeguard his retirement and his family's welfare can change dramatically for the worse. The winners are lawyers every time. If you Dad is over 70 or really any age, please try again, and explain to him WHY you are asking, that you are not wanting anything but to make sure he gets to enjoy and leave his hard earned assets to those he wants and not anybody else . @@dinahbrown902 I don’t think you want me to go there. But since you asked, here it is. Fathers have daughters. Not the other way around. So, it’s not her responsibility to do anything. It’s her choice. I don’t know the woman personally to know what she did or did not do. For all we know she could have been his caretaker at the end of his life. She might not have been who her father called on in his time of financial need. What we do know is her father made her the executor of his estate. Why? He trusted her and based on her representation in the courtroom it clear why he trusted her. She’s competent and honest. It’s also clear why he didn’t make his brother the executor.
Money brings out people’s true colors. You and this uncle would make a perfect pair. There are people in my family I wouldn’t trust as far as I could throw them. However if they need and I have, they got it. If they pass away the last thing on my mind is stalking their children. Give to people out of love and compassion. If you can’t afford to give, don’t.
