DO NOT BOTHER. CHOSE SOMEWHERE ELSE. I SWEAR. THE UK HAS BEEN IN A RECESSION SINCE 2008. SALARIES ARE TERRIBLE. RENT IS HIGH. COST OF LIVING IS HIGH. THE JOB MARKET IS TERRIBLE. DO NOT BOTHER. TRY ANOTHER WESTERN COUNTRY.
It might be better than your home country, I acknowledge that. But I also implore you to look at other options. The UK is a sinking ship, the rich are already fleeing it en masse. You can get much more value for your work in a number of other countries, as well as a better value of life. The UK is a miserable place at the moment, and sure it could be worse but it has categorically been declining by every metric possible since about 2008
Couldn't agree more. Better value for money and better quality of life elsewhere. I say this off the back of 21 years living experience in the UK. Migrated September, 2004, just for the record.
This has been a very helpful and informative video, i also majored in petroleum engineering in my undergraduate level and got into tech last year. Started out with UI/UX design and currently pivoting to cloud engineering. I'm still unemployed, so I'm a long way off. But i like the idea of the global tech talent visa. Hopefully, things will come good for me this year. First step is getting a job right 😅
I am a developer with 5 years experience, but not involved in community projects or open source projects, what would you suggest I do, should I apply or get involved in open source projects first. My only contribution currently is I do technical writing. Will that be enough?
Technical writing alone isn’t enough. I will recommend that you find ways to contribute to open source projects or speak at conferences or join a program like AWS community builder
I have a lot of experience and an impressive CV. Do you think it’s possible to get a letter of recommendation from an estimeed professor in my field that doesn’t necessarily know me but can look at my CV and vouch for me? Others I know that I have approached have not helped me so I’m thinking out of the box
I'm a junior frontend engineer. I'm looking to move to the UK through the exceptionally promise category by the end of 2025. Currently trying to figure out how to get my evidences and other documents right.
Bro, I run a digital marketing agency called Tech O'Clock. And I have created many projects for different businesses. As a company we have built digital products like AItoCopy, MySEOTool and even created a custom analytics tool. While I am not a developer, I feel I can apply for GTV as a business developer. Is there a way you can help me?
@@techoclock8367 you can’t apply with digital agency experience, you need to work with a product led company or build your own startup. The best advice I can give you is to find a way turn Tech o’clock to a product. Think Neil Patel SEO products. In summary Tech o’clock needs to be startup with product led direction not agency for you to be able to apply to GTV

Think about your next video hitting 10,000 views instead of 488. I can help make that happen!
