This felt like a podcast for me. This man is so knowledgeable in what he does year in and year out. Been watching from the start I can say he truly cares about the success of the franchise. God bless you, Sam Presti😭🫡
1 of 2 of my favorite press conferences of the year. I think a midseason is needed also . Another really great offseason by the PRESTIGOUS 1. Gonna be a great season, THUNDER UP !
@@J-Hue so he adds the big rebounder everyone wanted, the defensive stopper/ 3 pt most teams were targeting to add to their squad while basically keeping the team that went 6 games against the wests eventual championship contender intact. Man ive been so impatient for this season to finally start!! The culture Sam has built in this franchise over the years is wayyy ahead of the league in my opinion. This season and the future couldnt be brighter for this team/organization and its all thanks to the hard work put in by this franchise and its players over the years. P.S Thanks especially to PG for potentially the best Thunder trade OAT🤣🤣
@JayElDiplee After this offseason's moves they could be one of those teams. They may need KP to be injured to beat Boston. But I wouldn't be surprised to see them come out of the East. I don't think OKC is that safe out West either, looking at the offseason now. Minnesota looks like they took a step back, but it's a toss up on how big an impact Klay has for Dallas. If things go well for them, their top 4 scoring options could end up being the best out West.
Everyone's talking about the defense, but the offense this season should get to another level. Sometimes it was 5 on 4, and they had guards or 3s on Chet and the big would sag off the perimeter. Let's see how other nba defenses defend the team this year.
You guys got players who are a better fit, but don't actually produce a ton statistically. They'll have more room to operate, and should be more efficient, but Idk if their offense will jump that much. The defense should definitely be improved.
@@AD-oy8nm They still sold themselves short. Against the best teams, the more flexibility you have and more off nights you can afford from your stars and still wins the better. They should've gotten more back.
Our teams best opportunity to win a championship or two is in the next five years. I'm all for the Presti mindset, he's done great thus far, but lets not "growth and repair" our way out of a championship. The expectations are higher, as they should be. Yes, we have new players. Yes, growing pains will happen. No problem, but we need to start talking about conference championships being the goal in the next two years, and a championship within the next four.
I love that answer about the Christmas game thing. I wouldn’t even care cause it’s all about embracing the underdog mentality without all that national media pressure imo. Sam is such a wise guy, shoutout to him and this franchise from a Magic fan/Hornets fan #SmallMarketFranchiseFansUnite :)🫶💙🩵🧡
Except, the Thunder were born on third base. It’s literally in their DNA. How can you not say you’re not a third base franchise when you stole a team with generational talent (Durant, Harden) already on the team?
As high as the media is on OKC, I think Sam sold them a bit short this offseason. He had a chance to go get a Mikal Bridges and settled for Caruso over a few picks. This team will still be very reliant on a young core of guys who, some could still struggle. Unless they are looking to swing a big trade for a legit star big man to go next to Chet, idk what they're saving those picks for. At best, with this roster, you'll get a Bridges level impact player out of your best draft pick, but that won't materialize for another year or so. This offseason reminds me of their last go 'round where he drafted exceptionally, but then let tons of star and borderline star talent go and got little in return which capped the team's potential at around 60 wins when they could've had a dynasty level squad.
Lmao you are overthinking it too much. Caruso is an excellent player with Championship experience. Familiarity as well with the organization. Caruso and iHart were the best additions to fill their needs. Too bad Topic wasn’t able to run the 2nd unit with Cason and JayWill, Dillon.
@@808bboarder I'm usually not wrong on these assessments. If you have the chance to make a bigger improvement with little added functional cost and instead settle for less, you sold yourself short which lowers your odds of winning. But, if you'd rather underthink, by all means, do your thing. Laugh now. Cry later,. lol I hope I'm wrong. But, I'm probably not.
Sam is a softy. Don't like how he praises Silver, either. But whatever. Good GM, among the best. Says all the right things to keep favor. Now....let's get that 'chip.
He is not softy, but he is definitely overly optimistic. Trust me, he’s a workaholic; he stays up until 3 a.m. watching players' video clips or research , as mentioned by the international NBA expert whose house Presti stayed in. While being optimistic brings many advantages, however, winning requires a 'get it done' mentality. Does Presti create the environment we need to succeed? Absolutely. However, that success comes at a cost, and it must be paid by the players. We already have the right environment and the talent (Shai), so I hope the breakfast is over.
@@dillatronic4757 I'd add to that, Idk if he's willing to trade the assets necessary to put the team clearly over the top. Like last go 'round when he let mvp and borderline star (for a season or two) players like Harden and Reggie Jackson go for Kevin Martin and Enes Kanter, respectively. Letting a potential star in Giddey go for Caruso when you could've had a younger, bigger, better, more consistent version of the same player who's never been injured or missed a game due to injury in his career in Mikal Bridges for just a few picks extra, could've made the difference in them being a team with a good shot to win a title and a clear title favorite that teams can't really touch out West when healthy. For reference, once GS drafted it's young talent that would be it's core they gave up 3 players and 5 picks for Iguadala, who was absolutely crucial I them winning their first title and a key piece of every title that followed until maybe the last one. The truly dominant dynasty type teams usually have about 2 or 3 stars and then a player or two who can play like a star for stretches or for an entire series or two when needed. As OKC is currently constructed, if any of their big 3 struggle against a specific defense, who's gonna be that guy? They're good enough to win now, but Idk that they're big favorites unless their big 3 (namely JDub and Chet) take a big step forward. Even then, if one of them goes down, who can step in and fill the void?

Absolutely brilliant guy, love how he’s able to relate the game of basketball to the “game of life”
I can't wait for this season to start. I haven't missed it watching a game since 2012 season started and loved it all then. This past season the most.
Not trying to be funny but wouldn’t someone like Sam make a great president? How do we not have options like that? 😂
