I didn’t know he played a Cirrus. I thought he played the zodiac. Love em both. But I have a lot of respect for him for this. Such a patient guy

I'm just watching this to watch it, been playing for yrs but I made a mistake and took Dave for granted as a bass player. It wasn't till later on I paid attention to his playing a little closer while watching old 85-92 yrs.
I’m a guitar player and the only reason I’m watching this is because I was offered a spot to play bass for a band, so I’m going through basic skills that are on guitar but oh well
You don't have to like his personal decisions, but you don't have to hate the guy himself. A lot of people can't separate the two because they're emotionally immature. They probably also idolized Dave, which is foolish no matter who is being idolized.

If you have the music ear it will be easier for you to learn. It may be hard but if you really want to learn just practice hard and then you can do it.
Honestly, it just takes work. Some people get it faster...but it's just not easy or natural for everyone to keep time. Doesn't mean you'll be there forever. When I first started trying to play keyboard, it wasn't a cool instrument so to speak. So I got a guitar, didn't get into it. Picked up a bass and played with a guitarist, we programed a drum track to play with. Eventually I became a multi-instrumentalist. It took me longer than most people or so it felt to get good, I was lazy with practicing. My last thought is that drums are really tough as you learn to keep time because that is their primary function and the body naturally doesn't like to stay at 100bpm or whatever tempo, naturally you'll slow as you tire, speed up as you lag etc. Don't be hard on yourself! Eventually everyone who keeps practicing will get there. Being good with drums and being able to play some bass is a plus.
