Climbing the Highest Mountain of Bali - Mt. Agung (3142m)

In June 2022, we climbed the highest mountain of Bali (3142 m / 10308 ft) starting at 10 am at Besakih temple.
We hiked to the campsite at Pos 2 for 4 hours and stayed there overnight, before doing the ascent in the early morning (3am) to see the sunrise at 6am.
The hike is difficult, but with the camping break in between, everyone should be able to do this hike. The descent is the difficult part, as you will descent 2000m in hight after seeing the sunrise and going back to the start.

Hi there, just watched your vlog which was great. I completed Mt Rinjani last week which I found pretty challenging.
Now that you've done both Rinjani and Agung, how do they compare?

Hey Dave! Congrats on hiking Rinjani! I didn't end up going to Lombok so never hiked it. You will be able to do Agung if you did Rinjani. It's a bit steeper but very doable for a fit person. Hope you enjoy Bali!

If you like climbing mountains, you should go to Kawah Ijen (Ijen Crater) in East Java. Check it out on yt :)

If you want to climb a higher mountain, then Mount Rinjani in Lombok.
