I always took the relationship between the men in the lighthouse as less literal, meaning they were attracted to the essence of the other. Basically, toxic masculinity can't exist by itself, since you can't be the dominant figure without a corresponding submissive subject. The old man cannot exist without the young, since he cannot dominate if there is nobody to dominate. The young man cannot exist without the envying of his superior, without any competition whats the point of ambition? This struggle for power, this need to be in control, I never took anything romantic from it.

THANK YOU. Expect for the toxic masculinity part, screw you. But yeah, I saw NOTHING sexual when it came to the two.

The Secret of the Shining is about Perception and only when your mind is at a level of fear and mania can you see the Ghosts it's why when Wendy is terrified she seems the bear costume ghost, actually most interesting is the concept of the chess piece concept that Jack Has always been there could be explained like a chess board used over 100 years at some point one of the pawns is going to go through the same series of events and really that's what the shining is about.

I'm queer and i enjoy queer themes in movies, but i don't care if it lacks it. That being said, i just think it's funny how mad people get over queer characters in media, acting like it's a new thing. They're just too ignorant to realize it's been all over media since the beginning. I prefer this way of doing it tho, rather than the modern approach, but i appreciate both

No, the shining ability is something in all the Stephen King universe It's given to kids who have face some sort of trauma or abuse.

Also the pressures and criticisms on men IRL are not in our heads, they're VERY real. Subtly pushed, but VERY real. Being a gay man, you only maybe experience a FORM of this. Straight men, EVERYONE is literally our critics, literally this video being a perfect example lol. The irony is lost on you lol. Hell you can even say women face a form of it too, but not as much as men and straight men specifically. If men don't make sacrifices with their time, money, body, labor...The world falls apart. We're ALWAYS criticisms to be "good" men, to do what's right, to sacrifice for the greater good. And if not, then what good are you? These are ALL very real, just because you don't face it being gay, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

This is a very confusing comment. It seems like you're both saying white privilege exists while also being an MRA.

To clarify the term, "masculinity" means the state of being male, whether born so or presenting as such. "Toxic" in pop psychology and politics means violent criminal behavior in families or couples. Together, "toxic masculinity" means heinous violent crimes by boys or men committed under social or internal pressure, substance abuse, or extreme emotional stress as part of their culture's male role as patriarchs, warriors, and leaders.
