This truly was a secretary’s car. The original was called that but this one embodied it. No V8 until 1975 and even then limited to a two barrel. I know towards the end it received some performance options but it was no longer competition to a Trans Am or even a 350 LT Camaro. I guess at that price level it would have been a good import fighter, like the Celica . Dimensionally as well.
I don’t think the Mustang II gets the respect it deserves. They sold very well. And the 302 offered in 1975-1978 was basically the same as the one offered in the early fox body Mustang . In fact the fox body had the same 4 cylinder and v6 engine choices as the Mustang II.
1974 sold lot more over the 1973 gas shortages in 1974 , fox body lasted longer give me. 83 GT convertible and a 91 LX 5.0 coupe did like the V8 75-76 mach I
@@youtubecarspottersguide1 I cruised a lot in a friends Mustang II King Cobra white blue stripes 302 manual quarter window louvers fun cool car think it was a 1978 . I miss my Fox body coupe an 87 silver 302 lightly modded ..I wish I kept it. Got a nice 5 series BMW now though muscle & comfort 👍
@mattfarahsmillionmilelexus5783 I have a 1990 Fox GT. Inside reminds me of the escorts of the day, that is until I'm pinned into the seat with my carbon foot print.
@@alangee79010 My daily is a '92 5.0 coupe, and I have a '93 Cobra that I bought new. Blower, heads, brakes, springs, etc. The coupe is stock, the Cobra is what I take out if I'm feeling like going sideways. LOL on the interiors, couldn't agree more.
I find it hard to think of the Mustang II as a fancy and elegant car, because I remember seeing so many beater examples.

I've always thought all of these models we're sporty, sexy looking cars!🤩
I had a girlfriend who had one of these...got it new in 74. We had A LOT of fun in that car!!!
liked the 3 door fast back Mac I , I built a model had pictures on my wall 1975-77 would be my choice if I was 16
They removed the word "performance", and replaced it with "luxury". 😆 Still, a popular and decent car.

IMHO another on of ford's blunders. But I liked the 120 MPH speedo.
It was a popular car. I wouldn't exactly call it a blunder.
@MisterMikeTexas in the style department. My opinion😁 Amarillo, TX.
@@alangee79010 It's all relative. There are those who don't like Fox GT convertibles. Just sayin'.
