I brought 2011 polo 1.2tdi Highline last year in 1.61 lakhs 90k kms on odo Pretty good condition, did few little repairs like door lock, 1 of coolant pipe change, new fog lamps and headlamps and service which costed 10k approx... Great car, i love its interiors, no 13 year old car got better looks and feel than that, loaded with features like tilt/telescopic steering, defoggers, electric orvms I never regretted my decision

I would say be active on olx and other used car platforms... Or you can see cars around new delhi, as it has 10 year diesel policy, people are willing to sell their 2013-14 polos for a good price

My friend luckily got a 2014 Verna Fluidic in 2.5 lakhs got CNG fitted coated around 70k and now that car is good to go until die driven that car very fun to drive even after getting CNG installed with desent mileage 😊
Got my Corolla Altis...2009 last year. It's been an year and not stress.....pn the car, completed the fitness check of car and I don't hace to worry for next 5 years..... it's my 1st car and I think I made a pretty good decision considering there is not a single mechanical issue even after a year no plastic rattles and any check lights. Maruti Suzuki celerio diesel is really underrated, lovely to drive small car. Maintenance is low, fuel consumption is low, power is ok, electronics is also really good especially the sound system, all power. If you get one in the market. Go for it and It’s more spacious than any alto.
I have purchased a used 2006 innova for 2lac , since a year with minor repairs its quite reliable and has never ever broken down on road, just need a good mechanic friend, and if possible keep it as your second vehicle as at times it may need a minor repair visit every 2 months, but overall highly recommended for a hardcore diesel manual car enthusiast.
I've seen 2015 Vw Vento TDI DSG highline. they are asking for 6 lakhs should i buy it or negotiate? I think i can easily get them at around 5.5Lakh. And yes it's DSG. Is it okay to buy DSG?
TDI DSG is a death combo as the dq200 is unable to handle the torque of this engine. Hence best avoid it. Manual TDI is the way to go or petrol automatic.

Buying used car in the states is a different feel ppl buy used car coz they are passionate about the engine design and in India it’s opposite sell the old one to get money instead of it sitting still and not having attachment to cars

Honestly it’s difficult to contact direct owners because dealers have taken over all the classifieds so best is to visit reputed dealers in your city, test drive multiple cars and if you like something get it checked at the service station before buying

Paying green tax is a straightforward process in most states. The used car market right now is such that most car prices feel inflated which is why getting good cars on a tight budget is difficult.

If we buy car from 2011/12 it can be driven only for 4 more years and even less in case of NCR rules. Not sure if that makes these good purchases

Depends on how many kms and how the car is maintained. If you like a car, take it to any VW service centre and get a full check up done

Cruze was amazing back in the day. Even now it’s decent but spares could be an issue and many cars tend to be abused.

Petrol manual can be had for that much. Asta (O) and AT variants command a premium. Diesel variants are priced a little higher too

Online classifieds and local dealers. Also most of them have a tendency to heavily mark up prices, but negotiate that much too
