My favorite, that didn't make the list, was Daffy visiting a Doctor with a Mr. Hyde persona...but becomes a goofy baby at the end! This was an amazing list! Fantastic #1 choice! I personally remember seeing that one in color where the villain was wearing a red colored costume at the end of the short!
"The Impatient Patient", underrated short from Norman McCabe. I recalled it being a fixture on public domain VHS and also appeared on an official WB VHS "Tales from the Duckside" Strangely the only short that lives up to the title, which is a parody of the 80's horror anothology series "Tales from the Darkside"
Bye Bye Bluebeard literally gave me nightmares as a kid and the only thing that comforted me was reminding myself that he got outsmarted and blown up by a mouse.
Broom Stick Bunny Tree For Two Hyde And Hare Jekyl's Hide Gorilla My Dreams Boston Quackie My Little Duckaroo Rabbit Punch The Old Grey Hare Water Water Every Hare Honorable Mentions: The Impatient Patient Hurdy Gurdy Hare That's enough for a Part Two.
Those Jekyll and Hyde ones always freaked me out as a kid. Hyde and go tweet, Hyde And Hare and The Impatient Patient. were all pretty scary. Especially Bugs and Tweety's Hyde transformations.
The Porky/Sylvester spooky cartoons are pretty creepy. Murderous mice sneaking around while you sleep? Actually real except for them trying to kill us LOL.
One that doesn’t start scary, but definitely does become so is “Sniffles and the Bookworm”. Sniffles the mouse, and his friend, Bookroom, enter a bookshop at night. Mother Goose characters come to life from the books, and start singing a song. It’s all fun and games, until the Frankenstein monster comes to life and tries to stop it. The monster never says anything, and his design is so menacing. Totally a legit scary moment for me.
Hyde & Hare TRAUMATIZED ME. I watched it once as a kid, and Bugs PLEADING FOR HELP just scared me (I can still hear the screams, Doc!). The ending where Bugs loses it, berates the doctor for trying to kill him, and turns into a Mr. Hyde variation himself didn't make it much better. Sure, it had a light-hearted ending, but I was SHOCKED that it wasn't #1 on the list. Props to putting Hide & Go Tweet there, though.
Pardon a little bit of nit-picking doc, but Bugs never realises who exactly the good doctor is. He only gets offended because of the doctor suggesting that he drank the concoction (which he really did).
I’d love to see one of these for scooby-doo. You could do one for tv show episodes and one for movies. Though I think you would have to count out Myster Incorporated as that show is creepier in its entirety than any other scooby-doo show or possibly movie for that matter.
The scariest for me is What's Opera Doc. It has the most creepy scene in Looney Tunes history, where Bugs lies "dead" on a rock and drops of water fall on him from a broken flower. I can't still get with it...
Even scarier is right before that when Elmer whips up violent weather. Seems to me he did'nt just want to kill the "wabbit"; he wanted to kill EVERYBODY!
No "Water Water Every Hare"? I thought that was the better Gossamer vehicle, with its Vincent Price caricature Mad Scientist. And you showed a clip of "Hyde and Hare" but didn't choose it? That Mr. Hyde was the freakiest thing I ever saw in Looney Tunes! Plus it had the epic Bugs turning into a green Hyde rabbit!
Dodger: [to the Garbage Pail Kids] I don't think you're ugly, exactly. Valerie Vomit: You wanna suck face? Captain Manzini: Did you get the blood of a toad and the eye of a newt? Dodger: Nope. Dodger: [starting work unloading a crate] Do you sell much of this stuff? We've only had two customers and they didn't buy anything. Captain Manzini: Patience is a bitter vine, dear Dodger, but it bears sweet fruit. Dodger: Huh? Captain Manzini: That's from the Greek. It loses a little something in translation. Valerie Vomit: [Valerie Vomit, finds her hamburger wrapper empty] Ali, you ate my burger! From the garbage pail kids movie 🤣
Just watching the Stuttering Pig bad guy in your video gave me chills. The gap between the number 1 and the rest is startling. It's truly a horrific cartoon
The Stuttering Pig is probably the only Looney Tunes cartoon that after the first time I saw it as a kid, I was legitimately scared to ever watch it again for the longest time!
Here is one that is unsettling, "Now Hear This" (1963). That mindf--k by Chuck Jones is so confusing and artsy, that it makes you forget that you are watching a Looney Tunes cartoon.
Thanks for the Top 10 Countdown on the different Scary Looney Tunes shorts. Looking forward to who you will announce for next month's Cartoon Evolution.
Kinda makes me want a Looney Tunes horror film, not something like Quackbusters. Oh well. But I suppose some of my favorites include Transylvania 6-5000 and a few of the Witch Hazel shorts, measly due to art direction and atmosphere.
Personally, I thought that all of these cartoons were hilarious. Life With Feathers was the only one that came close to being disturbing, due to the cartoon’s depressing and grim plot. As for Case of The Stuttering Pig, the monster may be hideous, but his constant breaking of the fourth wall and his humorous defeat are hilarious.
I thought personally that The Big Snooze was particularly disturbing from its use of fast, abstract imagery and Elmer crying and being tormented psychologically by Bugs within his own realm.
"Pigs is Pigs" was actually a short I never saw as a child despite having seen countless Looney Tunes shorts throughout my childhood. This one actually freaked me out when I was in high school because I caught it on Cartoon Network while in a hotel (CN used to run at least three hours of Looney Tune shorts on the weekend at this time) in a completely out of context situation. Basically, when I turned on the TV to watch it, it was at the part where all I could gather was that a fat pig who clearly wasn't Porky was biting into a chicken and frickin' exploded! That honestly disturbed me. Several years later, the short appeared on a Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVD, and I saw it in it's entirety. I still find it to be quite disturbing and don't watch it all that much due to that. Also, I love "Bye Bye, Bluebeard" as an adult, but as a kid, yeah, that short was pretty disturbing, especially when Bluebeard blows up after eating the bombs. I think I'm sensing a theme here... Also, "The Case of the Stuttering Pig" has a really great but terrifying transformation sequence that startled me as a child, but it's an amazing short and one of my favorites as an adult.
I was fine with horror movies as a kid, but Birth of a notion terrified me more than anything I have ever seen and yet I grew up to become a Peter Lorre fan lol.
I legit thought the thunder sound effect was fireworks or something outside my window 😭😂 I don't think they have a lot of history, but I love Gossamer and would love even more to learn about them in one of your videos!
Great Video Dave perfect for Halloween 🎃 I remember Pigs is Pigs 🐷 Holy Cow I wonder if it’s on RUclips I’d like to see it again Lol 😄 But the one with Bugs Bunny 🐰 and Dracula 🧛♂️ didn’t scare me at all Lol 😄
I don’t really know any scary Looney Toons episode because all I can think of is that Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers. The only things horrifying about that was the plot, the awful pacing, and the disturbing animation.
Before watching the video: I hope "The Case of the Stuttering Pig" is on there.🤞 **sees it at Number 1** Yes! The cartoon was creepy, especially in color where Mr. Dreadful (Lawyer Goodwill's monster form) is the same color as the Wicked Witch of the West.😖😖😖😖 Making him a Rule 63 combo of the Wicked Witch & Queen Grimhilde's hag form (Snow White).😰😰😰😰😰
There was one where all the characters were being replaced with like clones ? Or copies of themselves??? And bugs cooy tried to kill him with an axe , i cant find it anywhere can anyone help me identify it
Oh my god I was gonna say f*** you for not including the 90s but the fact that you told me what the episode was the Daffy duck exorcist episode you're completely forgiven you are a god I've been trying to think of that since the bloody early 00s
You're getting a little carried away with the ads. It's a 9 minute video and in addition to the two opening spots there were 3 more that interrupted and usually in mid sentence.
It’s a 9 minute video that I spent 2-3 whole days working on - the least the viewer can do is sit through a couple of ads so I can actually make a living doing this. I don’t place the ads, RUclips’s automated system does.
Tweety turning into mr hyde used to scare me as a kid!
and me too 😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨
My favorite, that didn't make the list, was Daffy visiting a Doctor with a Mr. Hyde persona...but becomes a goofy baby at the end! This was an amazing list! Fantastic #1 choice! *HE* Don't know me very well....Do he?
WHAM!!!!
" Duuh.. I'm Chloe! Let's you an' me wrassle!"
I love that short!
It's definitely among both Daffy's and Norm McCabe's best shorts.
Bye Bye Bluebeard literally gave me nightmares as a kid and the only thing that comforted me was reminding myself that he got outsmarted and blown up by a mouse.
Broom Stick Bunny
Tree For Two
Hyde And Hare
Jekyl's Hide
Gorilla My Dreams
Boston Quackie
My Little Duckaroo
Rabbit Punch
The Old Grey Hare
Water Water Every Hare
Honorable Mentions:
The Impatient Patient
Hurdy Gurdy Hare
That's enough for a Part Two.
Actually, Porky DIDN'T defeat Lawyer Goodwill
'Twas the 'Guy in the Third Row' who done it ^_^
Thank goodness for that guy
As he called Goodwill at the short's end You Big Sourpuss
Those Jekyll and Hyde ones always freaked me out as a kid. Hyde and go tweet, Hyde And Hare and The Impatient Patient. were all pretty scary. Especially Bugs and Tweety's Hyde transformations.
Daffy Doc wasn’t a Jekyll and Hyde moment
I do like the end of Hyde And Hare...
"Huh!" You'd t'ink dey never saw a rabbit before!"
Me too, I was so scared of the Jekyll and Hyde parodies as a kid
The Porky/Sylvester spooky cartoons are pretty creepy. Murderous mice sneaking around while you sleep? Actually real except for them trying to kill us LOL.
Those older black and white shorts could definitely get pretty dark
Most of these had no effect on me when I was small, but those Jekyll and Hyde parodies used to really mess me up.
Same, I didn’t watch Hyde and Tweet but Hyde and Hare terrified me
Because SOMEONE has to...
6:16
I don't understand it! James Coco went mad in 15 minutes!
To this day, I'm still scared of Sylvester's proto death scene when he gets shot by porky
Notes to you
One that doesn’t start scary, but definitely does become so is “Sniffles and the Bookworm”. Sniffles the mouse, and his friend, Bookroom, enter a bookshop at night. My vote goes to “Now Hear This.” A beautiful, surreal nightmare based upon the art of sound.
Pardon a little bit of nit-picking doc, but Bugs never realises who exactly the good doctor is. He only gets offended because of the doctor suggesting that he drank the concoction (which he really did).
That one terrified me, the creepy smile of Hyde. The way that Bugs accidentally armed Hyde and locked them in a room together gave me nightmares.
As Robert Bloch said, "Comedy and horror are opposite sides of the same coin."
As a kid, the only Looney Tune or Merrie Melody that creeped me out was Wearing of the Grin.
The one with Porky and the leprechauns?
Yup, Porky’s final solo cartoon.
This reminds me of Daffy Duck's Quackbusters. I wish it would was streamable.
I’d love to see one of these for scooby-doo. You could do one for tv show episodes and one for movies. Though I think you would have to count out Myster Incorporated as that show is creepier in its entirety than any other scooby-doo show or possibly movie for that matter.

Scaredy-cat has always been scary to me. Those mice haunt room at night

That Mr. Hyde was the freakiest thing I ever saw in Looney Tunes! Plus it had the epic Bugs turning into a green Hyde rabbit!
I agree! I was shocked those two weren’t on the list

top scary Fleischer cartoons? Aren't most of them disturbing at some level? That would be a hard list to decide on.
Guess what..... its Bob Rosses birthday today
Bye, Bye Bluebeard and Claws for Alarm still scares me. 😨😱

I know its probably too far into the month to do this, but could you do scary Tom and Jerry( or MGM) shorts for next year? It be awesome and fun!!!
It'll be the gene dutch episode
I thought personally that The Big Snooze was particularly disturbing from its use of fast, abstract imagery and Elmer crying and being tormented psychologically by Bugs within his own realm.
You mean The Big Snooze?
The monster that Tweety became after emerging from that Hyde formula bottle actually kind of looks like some sort of Dr. Seuss creature.
Surprised that Satan's Waitin' isn't on this list.
Neither is "Now Hear This". THAT was unsettling!
I found Satan's Waitin' with Tweety and Sylvester particularly scary and disturbing the first time I watched it.
Can you do top 10 scariest Scooby doo episodes
That’s a good idea
"Pigs is Pigs" was actually a short I never saw as a child despite having seen countless Looney Tunes shorts throughout my childhood. Honestly I have to say I'm grateful for this list I've been looking for a few of these some of them I've never seen before
I definitely remembered that episode where tweety turns into a Hyde looking monster.
Porky and Sylvester seem to take up 7 of the 10 spots on here.
Great Video Dave Lee Down Under
1:58 nooo my terrible episode
The scene in pigs is pigs where he eats the chicken leg and all of a sudden just explodes had me dying of laughter😂
I legit thought the thunder sound effect was fireworks or something outside my window 😭😂
I don't think they have a lot of history, but I love Gossamer and would love even more to learn about them in one of your videos!
Fish Tales scared me as a little boy!
amazing video! :)
claws for alarm hands down, the scariest for me
The one with the two mice that had too much cheese so they wanted the cat to eat them but the cat doesn't want too and it includes with a dog
Dave Lee Down Under I love yer Halloween video
I think the scariest short as to be a lost short the killer tunes
I agree that the stuttering pig is the scariest. But it’s also pretty hilarious too!
What about the one where Porky is Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde I think Daffy is the other character maybe what that one called?
That one was actually a Sherlock Holmes parody. Porky was actually the Watson to Daffy's Holmes.
Perhaps its the Prize Pest that you are referring to. With Daffy gaslighting Porky into thinking that he is a schizophreniac monster.
If "Fish Tales" was just a dream, then why the heck is Porky naked at the end when he wakes up? Never mind, I really don't want to know!
I love looney tunes 🖤
Same 😊👍
Great Video Dave perfect for Halloween 🎃 I remember Pigs is Pigs 🐷 Holy Cow I wonder if it’s on RUclips I’d like to see it again Lol 😄 But the one with Bugs Bunny 🐰 and Dracula 🧛♂️ didn’t scare me at all Lol 😄
In invasion of the bunny snatchers in very scary when I was little
Not to mention, Bluebeard blew up and croaked
Life with feathers was Sylvester's first appearance.
Bruh for a second I thought there was lightning going off outside since I use headphones lol.
I don’t really know any scary Looney Toons episode because all I can think of is that Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers. The only things horrifying about that was the plot, the awful pacing, and the disturbing animation.
That monster look tweety & gossamer DNA got mixed
He should be called "Dave Lee 6 Ft Under" for October.
Bugs is so scared his 🥕 going to fall
Nope.. Tweety Hyde is the #1 scariest. That thing freaked me out as a kid.
That one part in pigs is pigs where the pig eats a chicken leg and then explodes i thought that part was funny
This is better than PhantomStrider's most unrealistic top tens for nothing.
Before watching the video: I hope "The Case of the Stuttering Pig" is on there.🤞
**sees it at Number 1**
Yes! The cartoon was creepy, especially in color where Mr. Dreadful (Lawyer Goodwill's monster form) is the same color as the Wicked Witch of the West.😖😖😖😖
Making him a Rule 63 combo of the Wicked Witch & Queen Grimhilde's hag form (Snow White).😰😰😰😰😰
I had a feeling it would be at that spot.
I remember getting disturbed as a kid during the episode shown in timestamp: 0:49. Anybody knows the ep name?
Dr. Jerkyl's hide
There was one where all the characters were being replaced with like clones ? Or copies of themselves??? And bugs cooy tried to kill him with an axe , i cant find it anywhere can anyone help me identify it
Can you tell me where can i watch the classics episodes
No impatient patient?
I want to see all this episods
Witch hazel shoulda had more character time
Oh my god I was gonna say f*** you for not including the 90s but the fact that you told me what the episode was the Daffy duck exorcist episode you're completely forgiven you are a god I've been trying to think of that since the bloody early 00s
We should have an election for networks to show more of the classic cartoons. All in favor?
Actually in the last one porky doesn’t take out the villan it was the guy in the third row.
Actually
Looney tunes are just comedy
Not horror
Just a dark comedy
I Love Looney Tunes
I love scaredy cat also Hyde and haire
What about Birth of A Notion?
Jeepers Creepers by Bob Clampett.
Looney tunes 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Can you do the top scarest scooby doo episodes?
Is it my imagination or are Claws Alarm and Scaredy Cat different versions of the same cartoon?
You’re correct. While they’re technically installments in the same “series” of cartoons, Claws for Alarm is a remake of Scaredy Cat.
So most of this is daffy ducl quackbuster
Very spook
Play the scary scenes of the Looney Tunes show.
Hyde and Hare was the best
Without further a " boo" . That was bad
It was meant to be bad
I don’t want to be like that pig 6:25
