Most informative video I've seen on this subject by far. An understanding of the lingo and descriptions of that lingo means being equipped to have intelligent conversation and make intelligent decisions about these sounds. I feel more equipped now. Thanks David and team!
Current go-to’s for live worship settings is Keyscape Wing Upright, NI Giant and, of course, SK2021 Black Hole Upright. I’ll usually layer Giant and BHU in a SK layered patch with a couple of shimmer pads. Keyscape Upright usually runs in standalone mode with a synth pad from my Jupiter Xm (fantastic sounding combo)
If you’re into thick sounding vintage analog pads, strings, plucks and basses, you’d love the Jupiter Xm or X. It’s vintage Roland synth sounds at their best... and I’ve played on originals back in my teens in the 1980’s. You basically get all the Roland synths from the 80’s and early 90’s wrapping up in 1 unit. The front panel layout has a learning curve and not the most user friendly. But the amazing sounds easily outweighs the negatives. It’s also has a built in midi and audio interface for your MacBook, so you can easily layer and mix your software synths with the Xm
lance culbreath sick I’m looking for a secondary board to compliment with my Kronos and I wanted an actual synth. I think I’m gonna have to end up saving some money. 😁
Hello!! I would like to know if all these pianos are available for sundaykeys for Ipad and also if they have the same quality?? Thank you very much in advance
Great advice around compromising sound quality and dynamics for a useable sound with regards to CPU and sitting in the mix . I haven't got keyscape but the giant and ravenscroft have served me well! :)
The sunday upright i changed it from the stock piano to Native Instruments The Giant and oh man sounds amazing, same goes for EP Piano using Native Instruments Mark I.
I used auto sampler in Logic to get my Kurzweil piano sound. It’s the triple strike grand from the PC3 and it’s a whole new world better than the MainStage sounds. Is it possible to move that sound over to my iPad and play in Sunday keys?
Why nobody can answer me this question? Can you have at the same time open the Sunday Sounds app and the Word app? To read the songs and playing at the same time.
Are you using mainstage? ableton? Are you on Mac? Windows? or iPad? Im a Mainstage/Sunday Keys user here. I able to open another web browser (my chords are on my Drive) or a PDF reader while Mainstage is playing on the background on the edit mode. It's doable but not recommendend bc you want to save your CPU and Memory for Mainstage only.
I use the Grand Rhapsody by Waves. It does take a good amount of CPU. Any suggestions on how to minimize CPU usage while using this third party plugins?
I have Mainstage with keyscape... but for some reason the sounds isn't as great as i thought. I bought templates and patches from the likes of Abel Mendoza's website etc but for some reason the sound just doesn't sit right in my church. I use a usb to port connection to my montage 8 and using it as a DAW but at this point i'm just using the montage 8(which i am super unfamilar with) as my main sound :/ The piano just feels much better and suits the songs. I really want to use VST because it's easier and I'm just frustrated at being unable to get the sound I want... I'm thinking of buying omnisphere to tweak keyscape even more but thats prob a really bad idea because I'm depending on new plugins to get better sound when there's a chance I'm doing smth wrong... Any tips?
I layer the SundaySounds patches (main stage 3) with up to 4 layers on my Yamaha MOXF8, in performance mode - it sounds great. I do bring the layers in and out, as required in the songs
@@kingpiano37 look up using moxf with mainstage via USB, then you can play your modf sounds and also mainstage. I agree - the mainstage piano sounds are poor.
To answer the second part of your question, there are so many to choose from and lots of them sound great! What sort of piano sounds are you after? Grand? Upright? Realistic or processed? The ones that get a lot of attention are keyscape, all the native instruments ones (mainly Alisha's keys, the giant, noire and Una Corda), xln addictive keys etc! To be honest I think the Ableton grand piano can sound nice, particularly if you play with the hardness setting you can mellow it out a bit and it sounds a bit less harsh! Sound magic piano one is a pretty good free plugin if you're short on cash.
Another fantastic video showcasing a fantastic product! If I were 30 years younger, I would want to be like David when I grew up....

@@occipitalknot It also comes with the Xv-5080 sounds too right?
IK&S yes...several hundred of them. Also a couple of thousand sounds from the Integra 7 reworked by the Zen Core sound engine

They are, and in most cases they sound better, since this video highlights an earlier version of the SK Sound Library :)

#Keyscape is the best piano plugin for me. There are also the Sampletekk piano plugins. (Sampletekk creates the patches for Nord)
Keyscape is the best piano sampler by far.
its where my money goes though... I'm figuring out which kidney to sell
@@erick8a51 Good one 🤣
I need this for my ypg-235 ya think it can be done?
Can I use samples sounds from native instruments in MainStage ?

How do you mix piano with strings on Ableton. And also whi h Piano plugin will you recommend
Either put them on different tracks or use an instrument rack to load multiple instruments on one track

Doesn’t anyone play a real piano anymore?
My church does, we have a Kawai grand piano. My only real complaint is we don’t keep it in tune often enough.
dude., you
