  • When making swords, most of the time is spent in front of the grinder. Grinding generates a lot of metal dust and that dust gets everywhere. Unfortunately, dust collection for metal dust is quite tricky. The sparks from grinding can create smoldering fires, and finely ground high-carbon steel burns surprisingly well. It's time to make my own metal dust collector. In part 2, I will build the frame from which to hang the blower and the Thien Baffle I built in the last video.
    Ingredients so far:
    Blower with steel impeller: bit.ly/pennblower
    16 gauge sheet metal: 4'x10'
    1" angle iron 2x20'

4:43 PSA if your camera does this (ray effect), it's possible that you're damaging the CCD under the weld's arc. Source: at least 4 deceased inspection and technical data recovery cameras for weld purposes.

Nice video! Why you bend your wire before place a tack weld?

Too lazy to cut it. I just want it out of the way to start a new weld.
