- This is my full fragrance review of Amouage Honour Man, created in 2011 by Nathalie Feisthauer under the tutelage of Christopher Chong. Apparently the male version of honour is supposed to symbolize the son of Madame Butterfly.

It's a good fragrance! I don't think it's bad, its just got shortfalls compared to others from the Chong Era IMHO

It is not a bad perfume... just one of the more uninspired creations during the Chong Era IMHO... still a good easy wear once or twice a year for me

Could have commented on every vid of yours. I only started watching your channel since sunday (four days ago). Was fully fooled by frag tubers and had ordered a lot of samples from xerjoff because everyone was raving about that house, until i saw your review... Alread tried 40 knots and it's okey, alas i already bought fiero i may have not done that had i seen your review earlier. Anyway have ordered all kinds of amouage samples and Serge Lutens and before this day is out will order samples from papillon. To say that you help total beginners to discover real perfum is an understatement. Yesterday wore epic men and it's good stuff. Not so sweet as xerjoff and a lot of complexity. We will see how deep the rabbit hole goes! Thanks for sharing all the knowledge!

The opening of Honour Man is pure black pepper to me. Like you say it's the reference black pepper. Never have I encountered such photo-realistic black pepper note in a perfume. Comme des Garcons Black Pepper smells really addictive to me, but, ironically, smells nothing like the real black pepper.

Coincidentally, just got my bottle of this in yesterday. Found a slightly older one with Honor written in the collar. No idea if that makes s difference in the juice.

Yeah if you are going to skip a Chong Era Amouage, this is probable the one to skip 💪🐏
Incidentally, the only thing about Amaffi a cursory google search will bring up, is redditors claiming a Russian tv station did a news segment exposing how the brand was set up as a pet project (that potentially doubles as a tax scheme) for an oligarch’s young, bored trophy wife LOL.
Unrelated but as someone who shares your general taste in fragrances, I think Parfums de Nicolai would be worth checking out for you. I admit I sometimes go for things thatre obscenely pricey BECAUSE they’re expensive, but Nicolai is likely the best price for value brand I’ve found; roughly Santa Maria Novella prices, (unless you buy a 30ml, then it’s even cheaper), and she has the pedigree Roja *claims* to have i.e. she’s a Guerlain, president of the Osmotheque, etc.

Yeah I think it's one of the weaker releases under Chong... still better than most Niche releases in 2011...but I think him & Nathalie Feisthauer never saw eye to eye

Curious, now that Christopher Chong is at Thameen, have you tried any fragrances released under him?
I have not... I tried to reach out to them to get some juice to do videos on but they never got back to me. Funny enough Chong wrote me back and said write the distributor and I was like nahhh that's to much work.
He convinced me to just do it which I did and got no response lol
One day I will smell some Thameens 🙂
Ah yes, the last bottle I need to complete my C. Chong “Man” collection. I admit, I’ve put off buying this one for the same reasons you mentioned in your video. Still on the fence. Do I drop 200 bucks for a pleasant frag that I’ll wear once/twice a year just to complete the collection or move onto other things on the buy list? Ergh! So hard… 😩

It’s not a fragrance that I particularly enjoy that much, it’s nice, but not for me. I like the heavier, more resinous offerings from the house. Cheers!

I find amouage abit to niche for my tastes. Heard this one smells like wet paper in the drydown? But always wanted to sample it. The one amouage I do like is reflection 45 but the price has just increased again & now its £425! Absolutely taking the piss
