2:56 not quite. Pontiac was introduced as lower cost alternative to the Oakland. Just as La Salle was a lower cost alternative to Cadillac. Oakland went away in 1931 while the tin indian regrettably went away in 2009. Love that Pontiac beautifully restored. A helpful tip: please film the car card. It tells the story of the car and every car has a story. 9:54 and the Plymouth. From '56 to '62 they were known as the forward look cars. Nice job! After seeing all 4 my favorite is the Pontiac. It proves that somebody besides Chevy made cars in '57. This was in New York?
Yep. Ill film the car card next time. Its just hard to do when people are walking in front of it and also there are so many other beautiful cars. But if you do a search I also found the 1958 Pontiac Bonneville convertible and two 1959 Buicks the Invicta and Electra to counter this as another GM offering. What I want to see is the 59 Oldsmobile 98. I have posted 54, 55, 56, 57 and 58 Oldsmobiles and similar Chevrolet and Pontiac and Buicks and Cadillacs. I prefer the Olds models the best of GM brands. The 56-62 Chryslers I also have a few videos of Plymouth Suburbans, Belvederes, Furys, Chrysler Newport Windsors, NYers, Imperials, and I finally caught a pair of DeSotos a Fireflyte and Firedome but it was nighttime. Dodges are rare from this era to find.
YES this was in New York. Some of the video was the Adirondack Nationals in Lake George. Others are the Queens Historical Society Club in Bayshore, Queens. Some are the Northern New Jersey Cadillac LaSalle Club others from the Staten Island Annual Antique Show. Some features are from the South Jersey Olds Club or Pelham Bay Catholic Church fundraisers, etc.
@broncomcbane6382 yes those big fin cars are very cool. De Sotos Edsels Mercurys, I love 'em all. Most MOPARS from the '50's and '60's are hard to find. Engineering wise they were 2nd to none but the build quality was for sh*t. Most of them rusted away or met a sad fate at the local demo derby. You have a good eye so keep the videos coming. Remember different is better so if see a Chevette film it! Real car guys will appreciate it's rareity not that it was a piece of crap when it was new. From a cold and windy windy city enjoy. Spring will be here before we know it.
