    it makes me realise how fleeting and temporary life is, ghosts of the past, all long dead, going about their daily lives.

    even the little kids in this video grew up, lived their lives and then died.

      Yeah, everyone here had a name, a family, a story, a life. Sometimes I would like to know their. The mind blowing thing is also that absolutely none of them, or maybe in their dreams, could imagine that people would watch them today. Someday, they - and we - will be watched and remembered for the last time, until they become a full inexistant and invisible thing as everything in this world. This may be very melancholic, but this is also the reason Life is a true and unique chance and is incredible.

    • @perticapertica
      @perticapertica 5 месяцев назад

      @@brioche5845 полагаю, что они знали, что их снимают на "видео", и вполне возможно, что они как раз и думали о том, что эти кадры сохранятся для потомков.
      Так например в 1902/1904 годах записали последнего певца-кастрата Алессандро Морески. Тогда уже было очевидно, что практика пения таких певцов изжила себя, и записи осознанно делались для потомков, которые уже никогда не услышат подобных певцов. Сам Морески согласился на это, хотя очевидно был не в лучшей вокальной форме. Отчасти понимая, что для многих слушателей будущего он будет кем-то вроде пугала или посмешища, но благодаря ему мы имеем хоть какое-то представление о голосах певцов-кастратов, на которых долгое время держалась опера.

      En aquella época conservadora, era común que en los días de playa hubiera gente vestidos en ropa simple pero que cubre bien el cuerpo, verían un cuerpo semi desnudo como algo inmoral. Mientras que el carruaje era como una especie de vestidor o eso creo que era llevado para hombre y mujeres que querían más intimidad hasta la orilla sin tener que recorrer distancias tan largas. ¡Vamos, es finales del siglo XIX!, es muy diferente a nuestra época actual y eso es lo que cuenta.

      Apart from work (or school) and chores, what else was there to do? Most common hobbies seem like they were a luxury back then too.
      Art supplies have always been kinda expensive and books weren't always super easy to get either. I guess woodworking and sewing were options, but those could also just be regular chores that they needed to do anyways.
      It must've been extremely boring for handicapped people who couldn't afford hobbies and also couldn't easily go outside to hang out with others.

Ignorance is what causes radical animal activists to take perfectly happy, retired elephants away from the circus and their beloved owners only to lock them up in a park/reservate full of serious dangers and challenges, and to take dolphins away from their Sea World trainers and release them in the ocean, where they end up dead in some discarded fishing net.
      Animal rescue programs like those often cause more harm than they improve the lives of these animals.

Truth is, a lot of dogs "act up" by barking, scratching, biting furniture et cetera because they are frustrated over not getting as much needed exercise and purpose as they were bred to have. It can really help to give dogs little carts to pull (like groceries) or if that's inconvenient, there's also these vests you can put on them with warm warter weights. :) Does wonders on dogs that tend to show a lot of frustration and squirly whirlies

      The title of this film [scenes of daily life. The Netherlands, Berlin.] suggests Berlin is in the Netherlands or something... The images seem almost exclusively Germany. My comment states GEOGRAPHICALLY this are two separate countries.

    • @xl000
      @xl000 2 года назад +1

      @@WPGinfo There is no ambiguity with the title; in US English, you use City, State a lot to make it clear which state that city is in, because people are geographically challenged in the US maybe ? But in Europe, you don't really see for example "Paris, France" for Paris. The order is not even right, because it is Country, City so it doesn't even work according to this logic.
      It's clear that it's scenes from some in the Netherlands, and scenes from Berlin, and everyone knows what Berlin refers to. Contextually we don't need to specify that this Berlin in the one from Germany, even though there are 2 other cities with that name in Europe.
      Compare that to the 30 Berlin in the US and the 20 Montpelier (from French Montpellier with a spelling mistake)

      Well, yeah, it almost certainly would've been better than vhs when the film was originally made. Analogue standard definition tape doesn't really compare to 35mm film, even with the inferior film stock at the time. Similarly the (presumably)AI upscaled(+ additional frames) video here doesn't remotely compare with 35mm or even 16mm film quality from the 90s.
      Having said that, there were multiple superior tape formats than vhs, both analog & digital, in the 90s anyway.
