Within myself I can see how this shadow manifests as the ego / mind constantly provoking me. At some level no one in the external is EVER provoking us, it's our own mind provoking that reaction to the external.
So.....the more we can see that we are really just provoking ourselves in this shadow, and to not react in the way the ego wants us to react (blaming "The other") the more that we can transcend it.
