Me and a buddy met him in the early 1990's in Cincinnati. He was with Dom Deluise who was doing some kind of guest star appearance with a company at the Cincinnati Convention center where we worked. He had asked us where he could smoke. We just made small talk while he smoked and he couldn't believe that my co-worker remembered some small t.v. appearance he made. It was pretty cool meeting him and he was friendly and had no problem talking with us. Great memory.
Thank you so much for this. I think my favorite memory of Burt is that he always made me smile. I loved all his movies, but when he teamed up with Dim Delouise, it was special.♥️ Rest easy gentlemen.
Stroker Ace and Hooper were so underrated. Before he passed away he gave one of his Trans Am’s to charity. Unfortunately I didn’t win but for those who donated got an autographed picture with letter of authenticity. I keep it locked away because it’s one of my prized possessions.

What a great actor! Everytime I see Smokey and the Bandit on tv I'm watching it. Him and Jackie Gleeson were perfect and worked well onscreen together.
Not my favorite movie but it’s probably what got him the most early recognition was Deliverance. That was one strange, powerful and unforgettable movie.

I saw Smokey and the Bandit in the theatre when I was 6 yrs old. Still my favorite movie of his. He is in my top 3 actors I wanted to be like when I was a young man.

Good job on the bio of one of the greatest actors who ever lived. I'm 52, my first meeting with Burt is watching Delerverinc. Then Gator Mccluskey. Burt was and still to this day my favorite actor. I have a lot of childhood memories of watching him on late night TV. So sad he died with all the hardships he endured. There wasn't a movie I didn't like, I loved them all. I remember when Iwas a kid back in the 80's, BR, always seemed to have acontinuous line of movies coming out. Our great ,Film Critic, Barry Norman said this week's BR release . RIP, to the legendary, much loved, underrated, Burt Reynolds
My favorite Burt Reynolds movies are Smokey and the Bandit, all of them. One evening in the 1980's, while living in Wells, Nevada, I glanced out our kitchen window. Parked across the highway was the semi from the movies. The actual driver was spending the night at the Ranch House motel. That definitely drew a large crowd that night.
One of my most favorite actor's of All Time ! Loved him in Deliverance.... Sharkey's Machine ...White Lightning...Smokey & the Bandit.. Longest Yard...Stick..Dan August..ect; ect;
I would have say that SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT was my favorite I believe I saw it about 10 times when it first came out I loved that laugh of his life when he laughed. I did too, he was great to n every since of the word and I miss him RIP old friend.
My favorite comedian, Norm McDonald, wanted to start the Jeopardy skit on SNL as an excuse to impersonate Burt Reynolds. When started pitching it they said Burt’s pretty old now and he said no, he wanted to dress up as seventies Burt. Well, a much loved recurring skit was born. Then Burt and Norm played father and son of another name in My Name is Earl. It was hilarious! I liked both White Lightning and Gator, but I loved Smokey and the Bandit! He and Jackie Gleason were great and Jackie had a resurrected late career that was born!
I loved all of his films. He had a great presence on and probably off the screen. I still watch his movies over and over again. He is Baseball, hotdogs, and Burt Reynolds. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
My strange connection with Burt: he and my long-ago brother-in-law were best friends in elementary and high school. Then my other brother-in-law shared a fence line in Jupiter Farms with Burt's ranch. Burt opened a feed and western-wear store on the ranch for the convenience of his animal-owning neighbors. My husband and I had a mini-ranch in Indiantown and always bought from his feed store. Then .... my husband worked as a stage carpenter at his dinner theater during the Burt and Sally years. Though I didn't know him that closely, I can totally confirm that he was a genuinely nice guy who always thought of others.

I knew I had to have that car. I met my husband walking to the store. He was driving a Trans Am. We both loved that car and we miss it!
Smokey and the Bandit was my favorite. It came out during a very influential time in my life and it shaped a lot about me. I've owned 9 '78 to '81 Trans Ams and several Firebirds. And I used to be hell on wheels. All thanks to Burt and maybe to Bo and Luke Duke as well!
I never saw even one of his movies until 2006 when he stared with Rachel Welch in, "Forget about it." It was hilarious. Looking back, I have a lot of respect for the guy. He always seemed to be doing his best.
I had the privilege of shaking the mans hand and having a short chat here in Taupo, New Zealand early 2000. I also played pool with Seth Green and another actor in a bar later that day lol. They were filming a movie, Without a Paddle.
First Reynolds movie I remember seeing as a young kid was Smokey and The Bandit. Fell in love with that car and movie as a young kid. That was in the late 80's probably 10 about 10 years after the movie was made. They played it on one of the local channels movie nights. We recorded the movie on a VHS tape. I watched that movie hundreds of times and now have all 3 Bandit movies on DVD.
Gator McKlusky was a great character. I still remember the promo "Nobody leans on Sharkeys Machine" LOL. Hooper is a great movie from that period. The Old Boy had on stand out career that brought joy to millions. R.I.P Burt.
I grew up in the late 70's-late 80's, and my mom wouldn't let me watch his movies because of she only saw him as a man trying to get notches on his belt. In the UK. An optician used a picture of Burt to advertise the brand. At the time apparently, I looked so much like him everyone thought I was in the advert. Famous for 30secconds!
Greetings from the Ohio Porters. Yeah, I sure liked Burt! 🤩 I’ve not seen all of his movies or shows, but I sure liked him in Smokey & The Bandit! 🥰 Always thought that we needed more of Smokey movies and truck movies! He had some great women in his life and it consume as to why those relationships didn’t last, but I guess That’s Hollywood! Felt bad about them actually. We shall miss him. Thanks for sharing this info. I learned a few things. 🤩🇺🇸
First thing I saw him in was White Lightning. It was at the Drive-in. Totally got hooked on that car chase, against the law, guy out to stop someone, revenge tale movie.
I learned a couple things I didn't know about Burt. I had been to his Ranch in Jupiter in 1980. The barber chair from Gunsmoke was there. He also used to raise Appaloosa horses and raced them. His Ranch was used to film Smokey and the Bandit movies. I like The Man Who loved Cat Dancing. Sam Whiskey. WW And The Dixie Dance Kings. Gator. I was a member of his Fan club.
As a fellow Michigander I will say he is greatly missed and will never be forgotten . Just wondering how his career would have been if he would have made Michigan his home base ...
Great video. Thought I caught him on The Rifleman. Favorite movie definitely has to be Smokey and the Bandit, although Cannonball Run is great as well. Was fortunate to see that in the theater.
I remember watching Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit I am 40 years old now and still like to watch Burt Reynolds act in movies I did not know that he was dead
Absolute star for sure. The moment at the opening of "The End" Burt is sitting in his parents living room downing pills he had just raided from the medicine cabinet with a litre of milk in order to kill himself. He throws up all over the glass coffee table and says, "Looks like Walt Disney threw up." put me in stitches. But I was a fan of many of his films. RIP Burt.

Sharkey's Machine!
I will always first think of Burt in Smokey and the Bandit, Deliverance, The Longest Yard, and Cannonball Run.

Saw Smokey And The Bandit at a $1 theater when I was 10- seen it at least 40 times since.
Just cool! Wish I could've met him.
I just watched White Lightning last night. Man I love those old 70s movies.
In the UK. An optician used a picture of Burt to advertise the brand. At the time apparently, I looked so much like him everyone thought I was in the advert. Famous for 30secconds!
So cool and confident!! I’ll miss ya Bandit!!
I Truly Enjoyed slot of Burt Reynolds' TV and Movie Actions. He Is A ICON.
Love your videos. Big up from the 🇬🇧!
Hooper. Gator. The bandit. I'm 43. Burt was in so many of my childhood movies
Smokey and the Bandit movies, with the late great Jackie Gleason.
Three films that stood out for me--from Burt Reynolds' career--were Smokey & the Bandit, Cannonball Run and Deliverance!👌
My favorite burt reynolds movie was the longest yard.
Love him in the bandit, cannon ball run and yes the longest yard he will be miss rip mr burn
Cannonball one and yes we couldn't wait to see the blooper reel
Very good - thanks
As a fellow Michigander I will say he is greatly missed and will never be forgotten . Just wondering how his career would have been if he would have made Michigan his home base ...
Great video. Thought I caught him on The Rifleman. Favorite movie definitely has to be Smokey and the Bandit, although Cannonball Run is great as well. Was fortunate to see that in the theater.
Smokey and the Bandit! With Jackie Gleason! 👍😁
My favorite too!
Burt Reynolds used to claim he was born in Waycross, Ga but admitted later he was born in Michigan
I remember watching Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit I am 40 years old now and still like to watch Burt Reynolds act in movies I did not know that he was dead
I really loved Smocky and the Bandet but also others he was a actor .❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Absolute star for sure. The moment at the opening of "The End" Burt is sitting in his parents living room downing pills he had just raided from the medicine cabinet with a litre of milk in order to kill himself. He throws up all over the glass coffee table and says, "Looks like Walt Disney threw up." put me in stitches. But I was a fan of many of his films. RIP Burt.
