    That's the EXACT buzzer that our old 1985 Dodge Colt Vista had!!!! I would love it if you could also find a first-generation Dodge/Plymouth Colt Vista. We used to have a 1985 Dodge Colt Vista similar to this one when I was growing up, & I would give ANYTHING to have another one!!!!! Ours was Glacier Blue Metallic, 2WD, & an automatic, though, but it DID have the same Custom Package that this car does (Full cloth seats, clock, tachometer, map lights (not shown), & map pockets behind the front seats(also not shown). It also had a manually-tuned AM-FM stereo radio with no cassette deck. NOT a star on the track by ANY means, but..........let's just say that Glacier Blue Metallic was definitely the appropriate color for ours, as it DEFINITELY had glacier-like acceleration!!!!! This was also kind of the forerunner to today's crossovers. ruclips.net/video/TU_yyzw5Q3E/видео.html&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR20KwW6ESJ93awpCY7oKry42gGX4bfVrJ6yBxtoJ7A

      The buzzer sounding the same is because the Vista was actually a Mitsubishi Expo that Chrysler rebadged as a Dodge or a Plymouth. Many of Chryslers small cars and trucks from the mid 1970's to the early 1990's were built by Mitsubishi. In fact the truck featured in this video was also sold as a Dodge Ram 50.

    A blast from memory lane. I had a new 91' 2.4/5-speed and I ran the crap out of it in high school. The speed-o read 115mph and it would do it all. It had no tachometer so I had no idea the engine was screaming WOT redline in 5th at the time. A friend had a 1/2 ton Ford with a 300 I6 that couldn't keep up when we'd run'em...you know down in Mexico🤣. Pretty much the same truck you got. A/C, no power steering, same handbrake and color. Mine popped a timing belt at 67,000 miles but it was idling when it happened so no engine damage with it. It sipped gas at 55mph and guzzeled it at 70mph. I gave $5495 plus TTL brand new and wish I'd bought two back then. That truck is tough and nails and the front end will cut ruts in the yard like a log truck. Thanks for the video!

      You can buy those Neon light spark plug checkers that will easily show a dead plug or wire. Mom had a 66 Cadillac that had oil control problems and it was constantly oil fouling plugs on the worst cylinders. We we had a spark plug cleaner and the little testor light and I think it was when it didn't light up that was the dead hole and I'd quickly swap in a cleaned plug and off she'd go for a few miles till one of em fouled out again.
      Might be a handy quick check for cars like that to save time in the future. I also have a spark checker that just shows the spark jumping a small gap in the tool I use for small engines occasionally.

    Should I do this to mine it’s leaking under looks like transmission but still shifts thru all 5 gears just sputters and shuts off when you drive it

    Kind of a goofy filter deal.
    One of the first mods I do on my G-vans is splice in some hose on each side of the filter so if the fittings want to rust up I can yank the whole thing off and put box end wrenches on it. Probably not necessary down there, but they use salt here so
    Boy that smoothed right out and runs good. Probably a compression test or leakdown test would tell you for sure if anything is going on there, but as long as it runs good I'd let that be someone else's headache.

      @MXguy95  3 года назад

      Yea, it could have been alot worse, but low miles and no rust, it came apart easy. Now, I cant say in another 20 years it will do the same.

    Sure is cool watching your videos & thats neat that it was something as simple as a tune up. I thought that little truck was probably done for. Have the exhaust fixed & it's good to go

    • @MXguy95
      @MXguy95  3 года назад +1

      You and me both, thought there was no way it was that simple. Ive been down this road before with these trucks. Nine times out of ten it was always a valve issue and not worth repairing. I was very pleased with how this truck turned out!

    Cool beans brother. I was just curious if you got the shakes (miss) out of the motor so, I finished watching your video and, sure enough,you did. I think the sea foam helped a lot. Either case,I think that's great you got er running good now. If I was you, I'd keep ahold of that one. Don't see them anymore. At least I don't.👍✌️

    Burnt valves often have chunks missing.. or the seats are all messed up so they don't seal with the head...which means theres a compression leak on that cylinder...which could cause a skip.

    Got an 87 with 78K orig miles.. They are real picky on plugs,, stay with OEM plugs and you be ok

  • @gaddmeister
    @gaddmeister 3 года назад +1

    I'd have been surprised if it had burnt a valve at that mileage. Hope you are keeping it? Nice looking little truck.

    • @MXguy95
      @MXguy95  3 года назад +2

      It was fairly common for that to happen to them, I figured the mileage wasnt what did this one in, but the sheer age of it. Probably did alot of sitting and not too many oil changes. Luckily this one will live on it seems!
