    That Akro exhaust sounds awesome! The 1-inch lift does really make a difference and I really noticed a difference cornering as it keeps the peg mounts from scrubbing as quick as they did before new shocks.

      I don’t scrape the pegs at all (maybe not going fast enough 😂). The exhaust is great but the headlight is the game changer for me

    Handlebars = good; headlight = good; resprayed tank = no way; crashbars = not necessary, potentially damage the frame; pannier frames = obtrusive. SCR950 = great bike.

    Hi Rob, I've watched all your videos and they're great thank you. Consequently I've bought a SCR 950 too. Could you help me out on one aspect. I'm quite deaf so I can't hear the engine revs as well as I once did, consequently I don't know exactly when to cleanly change gears when accelerating. Roughly I'm going from 1st gear to 2nd at 5mph, 2nd to 3rd at around 15mph, 3rd to 4th at around 25mph and 4th to 5th at around 34mph. Is this about right? If you could help I'd be very grateful, cheers. 👍👍👍
    Loving the bike by the way.

      Thanks again and will come back to you.

    Thanks for posting this informative and quality video. I own this model too and would be interested to know, what model the hagon shocks are and how they perform, they are of course a fraction of the cost of ohlins. And could you let me know were you wired your heated grips into.
    Better days are coming I'm sure.

      @BikesVansandThings  3 года назад +1

      Stuart, thank you sir. (1) I cant remember (or find the receipt) for the Hagon shocks. I phoned them up and they sent me the correct ones. Apologies for not being clearer but they were vey helpful. I couldn't find the SCR950 on the website (2) The heated grips are directly wired to the battery nodes. I ran the wires under the petrol tank and along the frame. The voltage meter is great to check any drain which thankfully hasn't happened. I have left the bike for a few days with no issue.

    No European manufacturers makes a decent can for the SCR950...for Akra money, you can get a Two Brothers Racing or a Vance and Hines full system. I've looked closely at these bike, they need £1000 just thrown at the engine from the off, and to shed that 40kg of 'fat' ,it gets expensive...I've worked out how to do it, and it's a winter of work! Safe ride

      Yes absolutely. Just finishing my write up about some essential Mods. My dad (62) doesn’t like seating position as he struggles to get leg over seat after hip replacement so dedicated cruiser is better for him. Seat cover and rear spring change essential to stop vibrations though.

  • @adamhavlena9480
    @adamhavlena9480 3 года назад +1

    Man! There is no way my wife would let me spend so much money on motorcycle accessories!!!! I would have to add divorce cost to the bottom of the list. Luckily for me, the SCR works great stock, even after 15000 km. I only installed the Yamaha fork brace (better stiffness of front forks on hard braking), bash plate under the engine for off-road protection and I replaced the original foot pegs with Puig Enduro. They have rubbers, so less vibration into my feet and less slippage too. You also increase your lean angle by about 4 deg (grin:). Two observations: first, the 2 screws on your exhaust pipe cover (below the ignition) are starting to develop rust. Mine are not, so I suspect it is probably due to winter riding in salt. A hose-down after each ride will help a little. Second, your throttle cable assembly on the new handlebar is pointed pretty far up, you will have to twist your throttle hand too far down to give it full gas. I would re-drill the handlebar hole and seat it a little lower.

      😂😂 I tried to package it as ‘a whole’ to get it through internal finance.
      Pegs sound like a good idea.
      Thank you for notes on exhaust and throttle. Will take a look. Seems to be ok and haven’t noticed issues on the positioning but will take your advice and double check.
      Thanks again and more scr950 specific content to come!

      @@BikesVansandThings My mistake, the pegs are Puig Trail (black), not Enduro (those are a bit too chunky in appearance). You'd need to get the universal adapter from Puig + the pegs, which are angle-adjustable (also a nice plus). I think they would look very good with your SCR's overall style.
