5 people didn't like this video. Why?? I wish I'd known this yesterday it would save me from traveling 50 miles to get my gear because all I had was one rope. Thank you Adam, I'll definitely give it a shot this weekend. It also seems fun.
Yeah, they are recent, hasn't seen they'll before. I wish I knew. They hadn't written anything. But anyways, write me if you are having difficulties using the technique :) and remember to be safe with a method you've tried out well ♥
I don't know where to start!!! I bet you probably know how to use a compass to shoot an azimuth ? This video is exactly the what I needed to refresh my memory. I was told when I first learned this in basic training.back in 1985 is that a "Swiss seat?"excellent
Not a bad simple seat from rope. Combine it with a Blake's or Tautline Hitch. Easy to find on RUclips with a bit better explanation than the vague instructions for whatever friction hitch that was.
Epic brother. Crazy technique. This is a very useful survival technique. You should make another video about the ascending and descending knot. it looks like a modified prusik.
Yeah I've done that myself to get 20 meters up in trees but in a very dangerous way where I disconnect from the tree, then stands on a branch to throw it higher and repeats this. However, it could be done more safely if you, before disconnecting to the first branch, connect with a secondary rope to the trunk or a strong branch. Then disconnect from the first branch and throw for the next branch.
i don’t get the sliding knot, i have watched this video 10 times and even tried to draw the steps but everytime i have a different not working knot. Can you explain with better camera shots? i can’t see half of it :(
Made this for better visuals ruclips.net/video/doNrydYr2gE/видео.html If you're have trouble with the sliding knot, add 40cm of thinner rope to your setup and do a classic prusik knot fixing you upon the main rope
Hahaha epic comment 🤣 The rope tightens on the thigh though, not your nuts or anything XD So I think this would work for well-equipped specimens too but then again, how would I know? Let me know! 😂👌😁
As this technique got popular, I made a follow-up video that might have better technical visuals for the knots: ruclips.net/video/doNrydYr2gE/видео.html I also added a t-shirt for that one...🙄

@@matiashoffmeyer60 yeah, sure thing, I'm always cautious. Thanks bud.
Some people just don't like videos for the sake of being a-holes.....
@@sentinela8775 What are you talking about? nobody dislikes this video. Everyone likes it. Prove me wrong.
maybe because its easy to fall out the back side. i am for sure a "like"er im out there like a monkey!
Well done! The only 'only rope' tree climb video I've seen.
Very cool, thanks for sharing.
Awesome job! The cameraman needs a little help though (apologies camera guy)..... But the rope climbing was amazing and thorough.
Excellent video!

Gonna have a look at that, thanks!
tqvm for this video mate. just what I am looking for-no expensive and fancy equipment and I needed the trick to get up a tree for hunting purposes..
That's actually pretty ingenious
Done well

Awesome! Thanks for sharing buddy
Thanks that's brilliant!
Niiiice! thank you so much Mr. Hoffmeyer :)
Excellent!
If I get to the hight of the rope and want to go higher, Is there a way to re throw the rope to a new branch?

been trying to figure this shit out for 2 weeks now, i say you should do an in depth tutorial showing exactly where to put it, instead of around here
Try this video, it's better ruclips.net/video/doNrydYr2gE/видео.html
@@matiashoffmeyer60 Oh thanks bro, its 3 months later but you definitely deserve an award for replying 6 years later
what do call that knot substitute to prussik? and why it is better than using a prussik?
It's just a slightly modified prussik better for my weight, I felt :)
Technically this still double rope climbing
What type of rope? I tried and mine just wanted to slide slightly
11mm, a rather static rope
I tried this method, and now I live in the tree.
Someone send help 😉🤣
Krass
Awesome info. Cameraman could definitely use some improvement, but still a thumbs up!
Cameraman you're fired
Looks simple but not as simple technique especially heavy man .
👌
coddles. the hard way/survivor way.

Wondering!!!😲😲
But it should have showed zoom for knocking
prusik, not prusnik
2:02 is there a way to do this for someone that has more stuff down there? this will not work for me.. and dude. wtf youre going to cut off your pp

falcons can do that way .not the english tree surgeon
Horrible, does not word do not try you will end up hurting yourself. Not clear videographer. I hate it.
hi shane, did you try it? What did you have a problem with? yeah the photographer is shite, he is called Berus, really, he has other talents
