A farmer buys some watermelon seeds and pays gst on the seeds , he gets charged for the water he uses and pays tax on it , the soil enhancers he pays gst , the fuel to take it to market he pays gst , the workers pay tax aswell and pay gst to spend the money they earned , then the whole saler pays gst on the melons he bought from the farmer and pays gst to send them to market , the market buys the melons and pays gst on them , and eventually the customer buys them and pays gst on the melons , so by the time 1 melon has made it to a customer its been taxed multiple times , no wonder farmers are struggling
sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot my account password. I would love any help you can give me.
This is why everything we buy in Australia is expensive. You buy a $4000 car in Japan + shipping costs + 5% custom duty + compliance costs+ 10% gst + 10% Import duty + 3% stamp duty = $9300 in Australia.
Geat. Didnt answer a key part of GST tough. Is it done on top of income tax? or ia it aprt pf income tax. In other words, am I going to be paying 28% income tax + 10% GST? Is my total tax (38%)?? If so, that seems absurdly high. Id be looking at moving countries if thats the case.
Hi there, thanks for the informative video. I was wondoring do I charge GST if I'm providing IT services to overseas clients ? or does GST only apply to consumers within Australia ?
Hi Pat thank you for uploading this great tid-bit of knowledge. I think we have both grown up in an country with a goods and services tax. But I sometimes wonder what would life be like without a GST...
So for those who arent real smart , say i earn 1 dollar , i pay 20c tax on that and get 80c pay , now to spend that money will cost me 8c gst , so in total ive been stung 28c in tax
Do you have to register for GST in this scenario? If you buy a privately-owned car for 49.5k, and re-sell it at 40% profit on gumtree for 82.5k cash. If you register for GST, you pay 7.5k GST and keep 25.5k profit. If you don't register for GST, you pay ZERO GST and keep 33k profit. That's a 7.5k GST savings. Let's assume you don't earn any other income that year.
Get this i work and pay tax , the money i earned and payed tax on ,i have to pay tax again (gst) to spend the money i already was taxed on , basically gst is a spending tax
You buy a $120000 c43 in Australia it tax $35000 = $85000 before you apply custom duty tax 5% , 10% gst , 5% tariffs, 33% lct, 5% stamp duty, Rego and ctp ) Goveernmevt totally corruot in Australia since Bob Hawke was in power 80s
GST is a accumulative tax, that is products has GST 10% added to cost every-time they are sold, if the product is sold 5 times that is five lots of GST added to cost. Its a very unfair and economical crippling tax. if you buy an item you pay GST plus the previously charged GST in the cost of the item, if you sell the item you have to add 10% on the sales price. These taxes dont pay for roads or schools or hospitals. income tax dose.
5% custom duty at port in Australia + 10% import duty on imports from Europe. Then there high exise taxes in Australia on fuel " liquar " cars " cigretes
Gst slowly ruining my business trade, never ending payment for every 3 months then the end of the year massive income tax to pay, by the way every 3 months you pay gst and income tax plus end of year.
There also 5% custom duty tax, 10% Import duty . The reason why products much cheaper in usa there no federal sales tax in USA = no taxes on retail price of cars, food, goods, fuel, liquar ) but Alp in Australia blame Capitalsm for high prices not socal democracy bullshit
