Pat, nice setup...I too have the L4. Consider listing the equipment like the fuel bottles and is that PVC holders they're in? Can u estimate total weight with all the addons please? I'm not small either and although its listed at 700# carrying capacity, I'm curious to see its performance loaded out. Thanks!
@@mkehr1207 Thanks! The fuel bottles I got of Amazon, can’t remember the name of them. Just do a search for 1500 ML aluminum fuel bottle and they should come up. The holders are 4 inch PVC pipe cut down in size. I would guess all in including the outboard, trolling motor battery and cooler about 200 pound or just north of that.
It's gotta be like $10k, the "paddle board" alone is like $4k the motor is $2500ish, the trolling motor and battery $2k. Cooler, light, and rod holders add $700. It works for a super specific situation, and if you have money to burn. It's for the guy that can't afford or have a real boat but still wants a boat.
@@michaelsefchek5116actually I built it because I don’t have room for a boat. Would love to have one but no place to put it. This is a decent compromise.
Good thing about this type of board is you can customize it the way you want and for your budget. I think a low end build would be around 5k. Or like anything else you can spend as much as you want.
I own a 22’ bay boat but bought a competitor’s hybrid paddleboard and put a 2.5 hp on the back. Total game changer. I’m seeing exponentially more reds with this rig than I can with the boat and I can get up in mangrove creeks and ponds that I couldn’t reach with the boat. I can reach mangrove shorelines hours before it’s deep enough to float a boat. I also understand the storage issue. My boat is on a lift and I can’t keep a poling or micro skiff or gheenoe on a trailer in my yard because of my HOA. My hybrid paddleboard fits in the garage and in the bed of my pick up. It doesn’t replace my boat, but it allows me to fish where and when my boat can’t.
@shallowwaterguy4755 nailed it-the storage space requirement is significantly lower, so Coach Pat is able to keep it at his home and fish a far wider range than in his kayak.
These setups aren’t in the Gheenoe or boat category. There’s a need for both. We love the feel of a SUP in the backcountry. There’s just something peaceful about it. We defy the tides too. We won’t see a boat or Gheenoe for hours while fishing low tides. Remember, fish are more in reach during low tides. We love the fact that you can throw it in the truck bed or car roof and just go. Our setups really thrive during negative tides where putting in off roadside is the only option to reach trapped fish. There are some used Gheenoes, Jon Boats and boats under $8k, but not many that have all the accessories, and everything is new. Boating has gotten expensive. You can get a trolling motor setup with us for under $3500. That will go for miles too💯
@@SUPCustoms-yx7vx a good new since just as low in the water as a sub with way more options and only cost about six grand with motor so I don’t know what you guys are talking about more bang for your buck with a Ganoe and stability and not worrying to lose your stuff if someone does cruise you and send some
I would love to have a Gheenoe but I don’t have enough room for a trailer in my garage. This was that bridge between a skiff and a kayak that is more portable.
If you've got the storage space, a Gheenoe is a fantastic option. For Coach Pat, that was an issue, and since this one doesn't require a trailer, it works better for him.

Hi Pat. What brand tiller extension do you have? Is it adjustable? Do you like it?
@@stevezakis3274 it is adjustable but I can’t remember the brand. I got it from SUPCustoms, it’s the one they give with their builds.
What a fishing machine. What's the draft with that payload?
Have you used it with just the trolling motor? If so, did you have to add a rudder to keep it going straight?
Yes I have. It would need a rudder if I put the TM up front but I believe next time I do it I’ll put the motor in the rear. It’s transom mount
@@shallowwaterguy4755 I didn’t know how it would do since it is a catamaran hull. Thank you for your response!
How do you even turn the motor without hitting the power pole?
What kind of money total do you think you would have in that setup?

For people on a budget, you can get a similar setup for around 4k if you are willing to go with inflatable options or plastic skiffs
I need this
There were a lot of us on the team that thought the same thing when Pat first showed us the video!
Dang for that much money, you should’ve got a Ganoe from Gheeno one with a steering wheel be about the same price as what you put into that

What trolling motor
Haswing 55 pound thrust. I wouldn’t recommend it. Stick with a name brand.
It's a great build , but a Gheenoe LT 10 would be more practical for the $ just mho

So, as decked out, about what is the cost…rough numbers?
Exactly, this is the only thing people want to know in a video like this…
I would think like 10k.
There are a lot of options, but this build is around $10K. You could build out a fishable model for as low as $5K, though.
I did this with an inflatable paddle board
How stable are the paddle boards after the wake from other boats? That’s my main concern, I am planning on doing it for using in the local lakes
