If you’re often frustrated by data inconsistencies or returning NOMATCH when you move columns around in Smartsheet or Excel, we show you exactly how to remedy the issue by using dynamic Index Match formulas. Great to know that it helped you Nita and thanks for the comment. You should look at our Index Collect video next, as this lets you return results based on multiple criteria (instead of the single criteria with an Index match formula)...

Great! Been adding all my new columns at the end to get past the vlookup constraints and turned out my counting was not too good either :-) This solves it all!

Can you please explain why this formula is not working : =IFERROR(INDEX({3.COLUMN3}, MATCH([Primary Column]@row, {1.COLUMN1}, MATCH(Name@row, {2.COLUMN2}, 0))), "Not Found") The 'Match' works one at a time, but doesnt work when there are 2 'match' functions in the formula

Personally, we would recommend using an Index(Collect formula instead of an Index(Match(Match. This will ensure that you are not restricted to upto two matches. Watch our video below on how to complete.
