La pregunta sobre la evolución que lleva a cabo un fotógrafo durante un proyecto de larga duración es una de las mejores que he escuchado nunca.
Gran respuesta y gran vídeo.
Well said " I DON'T WANT TO BE AROUND THOSE NET WORK " I too believe in that.
Cheers for the postcard idea, great way to stay in touch in these mad times
yes it is
I think Daniel can offer good advice in a 15 minute YT on how he sequenced a project (and that would be good to see). But there is no substitute for finding a mentor, attending a workshop, or hiring a pro photographer who will spend time with you and your images to get the best sequence possible. Until you're able to do this on your own with confidence and good results, one must lean on the photog community for help - even if you have to shell out a few Franklins. I'd recommend Danny Wilcox Frazier. He's an amazing VII Agency photographer and has a crazy gift for sequencing.
Love listening to you Daniel. You and Nick Carver are my favourites and Marc of course. Love the idea of printing postcards. Love that you hate Instagram. 👍👍👍👍
thanks Chris!
Hmmn. Catholics, Sicilia. Fine. Just because someone in the USA sees KKK. when they see hoods (and I'm no fan, let me tell you) and is offended by that, is not your problem. If artists such as yourself need to play to those who throw their rattle out of the pram, due to personal idiosyncrasies then art, in the USA, has a problem. I would suggest your friend reads "Il Gatto Pardo" If she doesn't understand Italian, its available in English as "The Leopard" Or maybe the opera "Cavalleria Rusticana" These may facilitate an understanding.
If that is not enough, I can advise on a line on "Hoods" in England, which should help smooth things out. As you might say in the USA "get those English cats on your team and you've really got a ball game."
RE: Sequencing: Take a look at Stella Johnson's photo essay, Al Sol ( www.stellajohnson.com/al-sol-20). Not many images for a many-years project but the images are powerful.
2:56 May I suggest the way I would use Instagram to promote my photography, were I ever to do it? I would use Instagram to present the process of what I'm doing, rather than present my actual content. Say I were going to Yosemite, I'd post a photo of my maps, survival kit, camera, etc. before going, and perhaps pictures of my dusty boots and camera upon returning. Just like if if I opened a restaurant, I would of course have an "open" sign on the door, but I wouldn't stand on the street, in my chef's uniform, handing out free plates of food to passers-by. Having heard a lot about Daniel's attitude to Instagram, it has made me think carefully about what I put online. And the way forward I am happy with is to document my endeavors, rather than what I am actually producing. That way, I still feel like I have an online presence, and can let people know what I'm up to. Really enjoying this upload, thank you!
Thanks. Good suggestions and telling your story around your work iOS always a good idea.

I remember when “copy/paste” actually meant cutting with scissors and real glue!
I look at it as you've gotta be a House D.J.

Isn't this just a new upload of an older talk ? This has been happening a lot on the channel lately...
We do re-edits since not everyone caught the earlier broadcasts. Thanks for your understanding
Those RUclips algorithms have to be fed I guess... just a shame that you don’t state that it’s a repeat of an earlier video... it would mean some of your viewers wouldn’t end up spending time on something they have already seen...
