Building a wooden sailboat in a very remote village! 😲 (Episode 299)

- Опубликовано: 9 фев 2025
- In this episode we join Robert on his mission to build his first ever wooden sailboat canoe, in the remote atoll in the hermit islands. We also get onto some fiberglass work as we repair the transom of his skiff which is his main mode of transport between the islands. It was a week that we will never forget.
SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. We found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are now sailing across the Pacific Ocean!!

Another great wholesome episode....one man may not be able to change the world...but you can change the world of one man
Truth ♥️
Well said!!
No drama?! You have changed peoples lives for the better again! Well done Colin and crew! Parlay is much more than a boat, it’s a way of life. Good on ya.
I love that part. That's my favorite part. Living life and enjoying improving other lives when the opportunities to do so present themselves. Class
Colin and the Parley crew really have hearts of gold. You are good people showing the world that world what it means to be caring and kind.
So nice to have an episode without fake drama.
Just pure real emotions, support and building memories with the islanders.
Would love to see more of this.
I admire your kind and generous nature, you just keep changing lives where ever you go. I hope you understand that you will be remembered forever as not many of your sailing friends are so willing to share not only your mechanical ability but your tools. I realized that I was smiling when you gave your drill away. Please stay safe, the world needs you.
Give a man a tool teach him how it works and you give him life and sense of self well done
That was an amazing episode. You make a huge difference to the lives of the people that you meet and help.
Wow Colin, your humility and willingness to give people the shirt off your back is amazing to see. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had more people like the whole Parlay team around. Just love the channel😎 Safe travels 😊 Till next week😎
This is exactly how a life is well lived!!!!! Thank you Colin for being an amazing human being.
Colin hi from Alberta, Canada. Words really cant express the level of selflessness you and the Parlay team provided to Robert. Repairing his broken transom, assisting him with his new build canoe including adhesives. Then to finish it all off by giving your drill and charger to him. He was so excited and truly thankful to receive it. That's what its all about kudos to you and all of the Parlay team.
Thanks for sharing it with us, made my weekend.
Colin (and crew) -so beautiful to see such generosity and helpfulness to other people. ❤
I wish the whole world could get along like this. They will never forget you, nor you them.
Well said
Sometimes I wonder, will God ever forgive us for what we've done to each other? Then I look around and I realize God left this place a long time ago.
When you gave him the drill I caught myself smiling just watching the joy on that man’s face. Not only do you enrich the lives of those you help but also the people who watch your videos. Bravo team Parlay
You really are amazing human beings. I just think how different the world would be if everyone had your sense of compassion. A little time and you really changed the world for Robert and his people.
What an example of the human heart poured out to someone in need. Rock on Parlay.
Colin your a good man , That's why you and the crew of Parlay will be blessed !!! SAIL ON PARLAY !!!
The way you leave everyone better than they were before you came makes my heart feel good.
What a tremendous gift you gave them. They will remember Parlay for generations. Good man Colin👍👍👍🤝🤝🇺🇸
You’re just good people! Stay Gold Parlay… 🤓🥳🤘
Always a delight to watch your conversations in the language of generosity
I so love your kindness and generosity Parlay Revival Crew!
You guys didn’t just help, you markedly improved their lives. Much respect Parlay Revival🙏♥️
The most rewarding Video you have done in a While👌
Colin to the rescue again! Such a cool cat. Need more in the world like him...
Your work with people from the places you visit are my absolute favorites. Your heart and skills are always evident. The depth of knowledge you gain from these experiences has to be priceless. I was hoping you were going to be able to leave them with power. I honestly wish the world was made with more people like you and the crew.
As you get older, its becomes nicer to give than receive, you can see in the faces how much they appreciate your help, great video.
Collin. Spreading joy everywhere you go!!!
All of your generosity of your time and resources to help these beautiful self sufficient families is enlightening as well as inspiring ❤
I had tears watching the boat makers face when you gave him the drill. He was so happy. Something so small to us but so huge to someone else. The same with giving the battery to the older man. You change people’s lives. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
As often happens, this episode brought me to tears. Colin, you embody all that is good and decent, when kindness is given it is returned in ways that give us all hope for this crazy world.
Amazing Amazing Amazing 💚💚💚
What an awesome gift. I mean all your efforts. That drill was iceing on the top! How generous. Thank you for doing your part to make this a better world.
How funny. Right after I posted my comment I heard Colin say "iceing on the cake".
What a way to give back.
This was my favorite episode to date. Great work. Loved seeing you help out the locals with your skill set and generously giftyour bsttery tools that will help them for the future. You should do more episodes like this❤❤
Love this one, strangers becoming friends, and stories that will be told in that family for a generation, cheers to Parlay🍻
Watching your channel is like meeting a longtime friend who always knows how to cheer you up. Keep making us happy with your funny videos!🌌🔶😳
This video made my heart grow bigger. What a beautiful thing to watch. People helping people and laughing and working together. Just wonderful.
Collin while i was watching this episode, i just knew you where going to give him the drill! You are such an kind hearted person, and such an inspiration to me! LOVE YOUR SHOW!
Who’s been cutting onions. 🥲 Colin, you guys are awesome and your kindness is inspiring. 👏🏼
The smile on Robert’s face while piloting his skiff made me smile!!! You could see the deep joy he had.
Thanks to the Parlay team, this episode was not unlike so many others in how incredible it was.... but to see the absolute joy for the islanders and Parlay hit my heart. It is time for me, and has been for a while, to get on board as a Patreon. This type of stuff goes on with Parlay week after week after week ... I want to be a part of this journey in a different way... Thanks Parlay
Colin- You’re a good man.
Proud to watch and support your channel .
Colin you keep it real. Your generosity to locals is amazing. No other channel does what you and your crew do. Always giving back. Thank you. Safe sailing
Once again, a killer video by Colin and Parlay. It is amazing how people can survive with the bare essentials and make a happy life for themselves.
18:25 What a Gift! The look on his face was invaluable…
Another great video, Parley is such a fantastic ambassador to wherever they go.
You guys are awesome ... how rewarding for both parties.
Your kindness and generosity ❤ is so amazing. You have changed the lives of these people who have so little. I am sure that drill and a battery was the best thing that man has ever received. 😊
You and your crew are making worldwide friendships that will last a lifetime. We all envy you and your journey. Live life and enjoy life to it's fullest.
Man, as a board builder of 39 years, I could see myself hanging out with these fellas helping them and surfing and Fishing. Magic
I'm a tradesman.. I don't get a lot of time off.. But hanging out on a beach building a boat woth these guys would be a vacation..
I bring my tent, a cot, couple pair of cargo shorts and Tshirts and just sit there right on the beach..
I'll leave the steal toes boots at home..
Love you guys. This made me smile so much and brought a tear to my eye. Proud fellow kiwi. ❤
those never ending smiles said it all , everyone of them were smiling .good work guys , they will remember that forever , not like most of the world .
Colin, your generosity is truly heartwarming. As are the wonderful interactions with island folks. Best 20 minutes spent watching this. Thank you for bringing much joy to others, and our screens ❤
Love watching how generous you all are with your time, supplies, and skills with people around the world!
This was a great video, way to pay it forward.
Most of your episodes are pretty heartwarming, but this one is truly special. So cool to see how they work and build that canoe by hand! Love learning about all these islands and the different cultures. Some really neat and amazing people you come across! Thanks for sharing it with all of us. 🏝️❤
Absolute gold huge thanks. Love it when Robert says “ no litres”. Lost count of how many times I’ve seen locals run out waving madly and holding up empty fuel tanks. Love these people.
I don't comment often, but this episode made tears run down my cheeks. The kindness and generosity of you guys were felt so deeply by islanders. Brilliant episode ❤
I wish more people were like you, Colin and Crew! Your support for those who need it most is truly unparalleled! 😍🙌❤...
This video gives me so much hope for humanity.
Can't wait for episode 300! Keep cracking on Colin!
A good friend of mine named his baby boy Macrae after you! 6 months later my friend lost his life… thank you for being an inspiration to so many! Especially to our family!
It’s not just the things you share/give to others - it’s the part of yourself that you share that truly matters. And those exchanges of self stay with us forever. Love you guys.
SMILES ALL AROUND THE WORLD! You’re touching the whole world one island at a time……bravo to your entire team
This was a treat. Acts of kindness are eternal
Robert’s smile says it all. Thank you Colin!❤
Every Sunday morning I wake up to my coffee and your new episode. I get to travel through your team. Your connection with locals is so heartwarming and just such genuine love. Thank you for sharing these experiences with us.
I love how they’re so consistent releasing videos about same time each Sunday.
I do the same thing LOL
Loved this episode! It's so interesting to see what a little hard work and ingenuity can accomplish. It's also such a statement on Colin and crew to see them so willingly give away hundreds of dollars worth of tools and equipment that I know first hand they will not be able to easily replace for probably many months. Well done.
Just an amazing team you have showing the world what kindness and compassion can be!
Will always remember this one especially because my wife’s Father and Mother lived in Port Moresby for 4 years ! Thanks again 😎
Colin and his wonderful crew spreading love and light one island at a time.
Good on you for helping the locals so much! It’s so interesting to see how they have gotten along doing everything by hand and a simple thing like a drill will change their lives…so awesome! Great job Colin and crew!
My faith in humanity is renewed every Sunday as I watch you all interacting, caring, learning from and helping remote peoples around the world. Their smiles and gratitude pale in comparison to the imprint they’re leaving in your souls🤍🕊️🤍
Colin and the team. You are all so kind. It brought a tear to my eye watching this x
Colin you are so humble with how much you change people's lives, it's refreshing with so much negativity in the world. Your videos are a highlight of my week and to see the weekly adventures of you, Jamie, Britt & the patreon crew is awesome and definitely something I would love to be a part of in a couple of years time!! Much love to you guys and can't wait for next week's video! ❤️👊
WHAAAAAAAAAT EPISODE 299!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!! Congrats. Keep charging forward.
Your videos never dissapoint. The positive vibes make the ❤ grow. Thank you.
You guys are amazing. So generous of your time and resources.
Love seeing the happiness you spread!
Thank you all Parlay family for sharing the side of Melanasian region with me as a Micronesian. I really do appreciate your generosity deeds to share your tools with them. Kudos to you all.
Amazing and rewarding to watch you guys interact with families you have never met before! Humanity is amazing and this reminds me to always think / look about the good side. thx for sharing your journey
Total Boat has helped many of the RUclipsrs I watch. I know it's mostly for advertising purposes, that's ok, their still helping. To see Colin helping villagers with Total Boat product is cool. I'm not saying what Colin gave the Islander was free to him but to get this mans only transportation up and going is a blessing.
You are so generous..it means the world to those people when you're giving..GB and all the best in your paths 🙏🙏♥️♥️
such a privilege to truly be of service. Who gets the greatest gift? the giver or the receiver. Unify!!
This man is a blessing to his family. What a worker
Helping others is the biggest gift in life
Pure kindness! The world needs more of you!
Colin, you and the parlay revival crew are absolute heros man. Those people will be forever greatful.
If only everyone treated each other with the same kindness and caring, the world would be a different place for us all.
That was touching man. Almost brought a tear. The joy on that mans face said it all. So appreciative. I know helping out others brings a lot of joy to you and your crew. What a win/win eh. And ya, I'm Canadian😄. The best vid. Keep up the great work.
Collin, I have been watching your videos for years, this one is different. I can hear in your voice that you just went up a level. I will think about Robert and his family often
Mate.....those tools....are life changing for them...that boat is their lifeline....well done
Love it. Yall probably saved Robert’s boat by fixing it. Chances are he’d have been 4 years waiting on parts etc.
I love watching how yall help others.
That was one of the best episodes yet. I love how you help others while they offer you the bounty of the sea and land in exchange. Sharing skills and goods in the spirit of brotherhood. Awesome. I thought last week's influx of locals to use the internet was good but this exceeded it. "I can always get another drill" says it all.
The help you give today is reflected by how the islanders interact with future adventurers. Do good n it gets passed on. When you get to the next village....rest assured they'll know you're good guys already! They have so little, but luxuries like power tools, spare fuel,nutts.,bolts.,screws.,shirts, saws, are game changers
you are amazing COLIN. who wouldnt want to watch these uplifting videos and support this journey? IM COMING soon! love you guy! So happy to see you helping and spreading the love of boat building! (and of THIXO!!!) :)
That drill was never leaving the island. Well done Colin and crew.❤
I agree. One of the more beautifulest places Parley has sailed yet.
It’s always a good feeling when you can help out someone with your skills in a trade that you know most everything about.
What a dream bro..
We’re all looking forward to the future Parlay excursions.
Keep em’ coming Colin!
Cheers
Thank you for being in this world Colin. You provide joy and hope every episode. Long time viewer, but this one was so joyous, thank you
This channel will be known in my home as The Saints of Parley Revival. I can’t say enough about Parley Revival and the incredible crew that keeps it going, but especially Saint Colin. This guy isn’t just a sailor-he’s a genuinely good human who gives his time, energy, and resources to help others without hesitation. Watching him rebuild a boat transom, help construct a canoe, and even give a battery to a local who needed it. That kind of generosity and willingness to help is rare, and it’s one of the many reasons I’m honored to be a patron.
What I love most about Parley Revival is that it’s not just about fixing up boats-it’s about community, problem-solving, and making a real difference wherever they go. Colin and the crew don’t just pass through; they leave every place (and person) better than they found them. Their work is inspiring, and their kindness is proof that the sailing world is about so much more than just boats-it’s about the people you meet and the connections you build.
Supporting them feels like being part of something bigger-a movement of like-minded people who believe in restoration, sustainability, and lending a hand when it’s needed. So here’s to Colin and the Parley Revival crew-keep doing what you do, because the world needs more of it! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Wow Colin what an awesome help that is to those people, to us a boat and outboard are a pleasure thing but to them it is not only a way of feeding their families but can mean a lifesaving way to get to a hospital.
Ya just can't get that sort of human interaction in a holiday resort.! It's proof that strangers & culturally different people can really get along in a mutually beneficial way. Absolutely brilliant episode
Oh my gosh Colin, you are the best!!! I love how you love on people! So proud of you.❤
