FYI - There is a service area on New Jersey’s Garden State Parkway (toll road) that was just named after Connie Chung. It is located in the Township of Bloomfield, Essex County, New Jersey. I refer it as the Maury Povich Service Area. (He is married to who else ----- Connie Chung. 😁👌
KCBS, the West Coast flagship station of the CBS Television Network in Los Angeles CA, is owned and operated by CBS News & Stations, a subsidiary of Paramount Global. KCBS is the sister station to independent station KCAL in Los Angeles, fellow CBS O&O affiliates KPIX in San Francisco and KOVR in Sacramento and independent stations KPYX in San Francisco and KMAX in Sacramento.
Paramount is trying to save a buck. They thought it would be more cost effective to combine KCBS and KCAL into one. Just surprised they went with KCAL and not the other way around. If anything they should be operating under the KCBS banner. This move is quite perplexing. Why not be even more frugal and move all the CBS programs to KCAL?
no, its because KCBS is always close to last place in news, where KCAL isn't. So they prolly thought it may be better to lead with the better brand instead of using a sinking ship which is KCBS.
@danielschear556 It always makes a difference because when their ratings don't move...Another GM/ ND will come in and change the name- tinker with what wrong with it..Eventually they will reroute and go back to their roots. It is just a matter of time.
17:17 the late 80s news opens for KCBS are very similar style wise to the opening graphics for CBS This Morning during the same time frame...I'm guessing the same post house or in house folks did both sets of intros...
Paramount Global Corporation, the parent company of CBS, Paramount Pictures, Comedy Central and streaming service, Paramount+, uses CBS NEWS (fill in market city/state) for their CBS owned-and-operated television stations and sister duopoly stations. 👌 In the New York City market (#1) is WCBS-TV, Channel 2 (”CBS 2”), the CBS flagship/network owned-and-operated station (now known as CBS NEWS/NEW YORK). The also a duopoly station, WLNY-TV, Channel 10/55. 👌
@@danielschear556Yes, I agree that Michael Tuck was very good, from his commentaries to his news anchor positions. He had come from San Diego television news and went back there after his time on KCBS-TV-2, which was from 1990 through the late 1990s. A "Los Angeles Magazine" article on him in 1992 revealed that he had a chronic neurological condition. He died at 76 in 2022.
@@1thetvzoneHe is with the Church of Religious Science, also known as the Science of Mind, church, of which there are many, but he is based at their Simi Valley church. That is not to be confused with the Church of Scientology or the Christian Science Church. Religious Science was founded as Science of Mind in 1928 in Los Angeles by Ernest Holmes. Former KABC-AM helicopter traffic reporter and KNBC-TV-4 and KCBS-TV-2 news anchor, Kelly Lange, is a member of the Church of Religious Science, or Science of Mind, but a different church location. She has been public about that in online interviews.

RIP- CBS2 KCBS LOS ANGELES...
Now There Is CBS Los Angeles!
One More Thing...
Why CBS NEWS Los Angeles?
@@samuelcarrasquillo4590 Have they branded the CBS2 side on their local news as CBS Los Angeles? They've been pimping out KCAL NEWS?

Paramount should have kept the full "enforcer" theme music

Actually, someone did something about that. @CBS, ball's in your court..
