Haunting, sobering, beautiful. Oh, that the Father would soon give to His Son all He has promised Him. "The uttermost parts of the earth for his possession."
Marvellous. I fell in love with the Genevan Psalms when I discovered the Huguenots in 1985. Thank you for your testimony and efforts. As ungodliness grows more and more, this Psalm depicting the reign of our Lord Jesus Christ is more important than ever. The music is utterly appropriate.
Mr. Stolz, thank you so much for playing, recording and uploading these godly and beautiful psalters! And please forgive me for ‘unintentionally’ being rude by not leaving any comment although I’ve been subscribing and adding your music to my personal playlists.. (I’m quite new to this RUclips etiquette.. If you want me to, I’ll remove them from my playlists and just listen to them from your channel..) Anyway, I was so blessed by this Genevan Psalter..! I heartily thank you and all your fellow musicians for playing/recording these entire 150 psalms! May the LORD bless you, sir!
Why do the restless nations madly rage? What haughty schemes are they in vain contriving? The kings and rulers of the earth engage In rash attempts to plot their empty striving. They stand prepared, they all conspire together Against the Lord and His anointed King. “Let us”, they say, “tear loose and break their fetters Cast off their chains, their shackles from us fling.” Though proudly now they raise their battle cry, How vain is all their frenzied opposition! The Lord who sits enthroned in heaven on high, Laughs them to scorn: He holds them in derision. Then He will speak in wrath and indignation And all their host He will with terror fill: “I’ve set my King,” so runs His proclamation “Upon Mount Zion, on my Holy Hill.”

The words are more relevant today than ever before. Goudimel's harmonies are appropriately foreboding yet hopeful in conclusion. Well done Ernst.

Ouvindo novamente....
Wonderful!! Love it, so melancholic, in the true tradition of medieval music. Well done Mr. Stolz.
Not medieval, from French Renaissance (XVIth century), even if some tunes may be older.
Breathtaking. Thank you.
Fui levado as lágrimas. Muito bom, Deus abençoe....
