They should just open a very short pre-order window for the Artisan figures, like a couple hours, and make X amount that is ordered. The way that they handle these drops right now is terrible.

I ordered the sculpted version. I think it looks better than the rooted. I'm so glad too because I never wanna do the rat race for the Sideshow Queue.
So, you're not crazy - I do think 90% of people will pose him sitting - I just know I'm in that 10%. I've always hoped to recreate his transformation scene about a 30 seconds to a minute before he actually sits down. Maybe grabbing one of the timelines, walking up some steps to actually get to the throne. Far more dynamic.

Sir you are correct! This isn’t the one to over pay for! Sculpted hair is good enough!!! I’m passing on it all together. But if I would’ve bought it, he would be posed on the ugly chair holding the time lines. It’s that hero moment shot! Rooted hair looks very cool but sometimes it does hold and if you need to mess with it to darn much it isn’t worth it. Plus will it eventually start coming/falling out? No one knows! As for the chance to get one, I’d like a heads up about at least a day before of time to get online to try and purchase one! I missed on Anakin because I was having a procedure! But that had a date and time and so did Joker! I chose to pass on the joker. I didn’t even know Jack Sparrow was up for sale Artisan version until I saw the sculpted hair version.
Had some rewards. Decided to gowith the standard.
Don’t see the reason to add 160 dollars just for the rooted hair. They have to add some diorama or something for the artisan to differentiate it from the standard
I actually want to pose him trudging up the incline dragging timeline behind him (not sitting in the chair), but we’ll see. I do have my Endgame Iron Man in the snap pose. 😜
Suicide Squad Akham Asylum Joker had the exposed feet and ESB Leia had the slippers. So we’ve seen the feet thing done before :)
I likely won’t pose mine in the chair, holding the timelines. Just because I have a feeling the weight of the timelines and the arms stretched out like that might loosen some of the joints….
i would display him hands up when he was going to save the timelines, i don't need the chair or wool hair, the regular is fine, as long as the price is ok lol
No figure is worth a $1,000 imo especially ones where the hair can be ruined easier.
I went Artsan as i'm a massive Loki Fan so i had to have it. I will put him on the throne for awhile but i can see having him standing eventually to save space.

I totally agree the majority of collectors will pose this Loki sitting in the chair holding the realities. This would make a great statue but unless its an Iron Studios 1:10 scale you probably will be looking at over 1k usd easy. Your choice.
I think the sculpted version is extremely fine if you missed out on the artisan. I have Pres Loki and I am more then happy having him being my only representation of loki. God of Stories Loki looks great but I'm not moved to get him at this time. Maybe later if available. Who knows. Displays can be fluid.
The only other posing option I would think of doing would be him standing with the chair behind him holding the strands. Not that much of a variation.

I preordered the sculpted version, much better looking imo, looks exactly like him from the show. And not everything has to be artisan, honestly. It matters what looks good on your display. Also I love how your dog just dropped by, that was super adorable. Also you calling it the (poop throne) is on point 😂

I was able to get him but I had the same thing happen with the umbera trooper where it was announced and released before I even knew it. I will say though I appreciate them doing sculpted plus rooted unlike Anakin
The artisan situation is becoming interesting. Here are a couple thoughts:
1- Hot toys needs to move away from the exclusive model and get in line with the pre-order window model.
2- We need to start seeing them in-hand. Let's see if the quality of it actually matches the competition. They cannot afford these to be a downgrade from proto images given their price.
3- They are really releasing these quite often given rooted mass production is definitely more challenging to deliver on time and their price. I can see people reducing the number of collectibles they buy in this economy. It will be interesting to see the PO cancelation rate, which I see in a couple groups their waitlists are converting. Considering we will definitely get 2 more for summer fest and likely more throughout the year.
Scalpers are a huge problem for the community and this is exclusivity is not helping. I feel like some people PO just so they can get them at retail and decide whether they want them or not close to release.
What you just said is what I was thinking especially with that Iron Man majority of people pose that figure with him on his knees snapping this is no different cuz that's how I plan to pose him sitting in the chair holding the timelines and using LED green light up string to create even more of an effect
I also had no clue about this guy until i got home from work, not very nice Hot Toys! I got on the waiting list because i figured, why not. If I really want him when it gets closer to release, I'll probably go for the regular version. I was wondering what the big difference was between the two so thanks for that info.
If I can pick up the artisan for $500, I would go for it as a rare collectible. Otherwise a pass for me.
I'm not really bothered for rooted hair, I'm perfectly fine with sculpted.

It is TW 2.0 situation with them. Heard lot of complains about them recently. Avoid.
