I can't say I have been adjusting my training much for these races. Throughout the winter I have been doing a good mix of easy training, LT1, threshold and vo2max efforts. These hills were a little longer than what I specialize in, so I rather have focus on the bigger racing coming later this spring, which should suit me better :)
Hey man, is 250w easy spin for you or is it like intensive endurance? When you do easy rides, do you sustain 60%-70% of FTP or do you just ride whatever wattage below tempo/treshhold, as long as it's long in duration? I'm currently sitting at 353 FTP and my training app gives me my easy rides at 60-70%. Dunno if I'm riding too hard or not.
Your recovery ride have to be under 50% of your FTP(your zone 1) And the endurance ride should be around 55-74% of your ftp!!Also do a research with a coach or in the internet!!
250w is on the upper end of what I would consider an easy ride for me. I do most easy endurance rides at about 220-230 watts, with my heart rate around 60% of max. I am not using FTP that much because I find it to be way too high compared to LT2 (lac ~2,5), if I use the classic 20 min test *0,95. But if you are doing easy 4-5h rides, and your FTP is 350, I would aim for around 180-200 watss average.
Overall win ! GREAT
We gave André the nickname "The Colossus of Rhodes" ;)
Great video

for hilly races like this, do you do more work at threshold ? or vo2/sort interval for sprints/hills intensity
