Wow, must be nice to celebrate ur own culture. Everything is getting so sterilized in the US it’s disgusting. The costumes, the music, & the rituals were beautiful. So many participants as well, what a joy for the community.
    Many Blessings to All 🙏🇺🇸

Well said my friend, you hit the nail on the head there. Even in my short life of 30 years it's staggering what's been lost here in my home state of Maine. I could go on for hours about what's gone and never coming back, and just how awful and often insidious all the reasons for it are. We've lost everything now after this last push with the flight from the cities of the new yorkers and their fellow flatlanders, it's just done.

The amount of culture and mystery that comes from Peru is amazing. These people make festivals and celebrate their culture, while in the US our people celebrate themselves and TikTok.

Unlike the Ukukus up in the Peruvian Andes, at least these people haven't had their rituals and culture yanked away from them yet.

So...if they are celebrating (in South America) the Sun Solstice (longest day there)?
Is it on June 21st like our Solstice (longest day here in North America)?

It is the 21st in South America yeah, but Inti Raymi takes place in the 24th because Catholic priests forced us to change the date back in the day, although Aymara new year is in the 21st!

When did this celebration resume after the Spanish banned it?

  • @mylo7148

Why do people not think these buildings had some kind of roofs? It is hot as hell in south America. And they had to clear away areas to build or keep groomed. It's jungles everywhere...

@@defyjayy8335 OK, they would take children and burn them alive and the more they screamed the more they enjoyed it. The Spanish watched it in horror. So get your info correct Sir.

While enjoying the colorful beauty let's keep in mind that they were are very violent people. Where once their rituals, etc were full of violence.
