Thank you tho, Jim Desmond for never giving up!! My son and family are here... I want this county to be better for them and all! It's so disheartening.
Agreed Supervisor Jim Desmond! Leap to Success is another amazing tool for women who are abused or in homeless shelters. They teach confidence and life lessons, emotional support. Solutions for Change sounds amazing! Thank you for this video!
Jim- thanks for speaking up with a common sense approach. One suggestion is to provide a link to who our representatives are & who we should call or contact. I'll be honest, I don't know where to start on finding who to "reach out to". A link to a resource tool included with your video - on who to contact and how to contact would really be helpful. Phone #'s, email addresses of who to reach out to would help those willing to help, much more successful. Also an example of key points on getting communication done easily and done well is also invaluable.
Thank you for continuing the good fight. I say: take the homeless off the street to a location and set up a camp with tents, showers, bathrooms, etc. Screen each individual for disease (mental and physical) and require sobriety. Those that do not wish to maintain sobriety can leave, however, give local municipalities the ability to incarcerate homelessness so that if they return life will not be like before: it is now criminalized. Those who are willing to remain sober will be offered programs to assist with locating jobs and given monetary assistance to re-join society. Those that are sick physically or mentally will be given the professional care needed. Those that are unable to work can be given assistance and housing provided they perform some community service in the community. rough idea but crazy to allow those who do not contribute to society by working and paying taxes to diminish the enjoyment of life of those who do.
Love involves making tough decisions and executing on them, regardless of emotional responses that are guaranteed to come. Jim, I would appreciate it if you start with the premise that we have an open invitation for vagrancy in this state which attracts many here, and eventually streetlife leads to addiction and the crime that is needed to feed it...plain and simple. BTW addiction leads to mental health afflictions. Not poor mental health causing addictions! Police the criminals, that's the starting place. Legislate local laws/ordinances that does not allow vagrancy to occur where people have daily lives (tents/lean-to's on public sidewalks...are you kidding me?)! Start leading Jim, with actions, not complaints.

It doesn't work and it's immoral.
I'm in a Housing First building in l.a.
It is very hard to grow and reach goals. Policy needs to change.
Apartment rent princess is to high
The government needs to control that
Homelessness is a euphemism taken literally. Would be glad to put the resources towards REAL solutions.

Spot on....WHY would any taxpayer want to pay for an addiction?
When are you leaving San Diego? It's a mess here... I NEVER thought I'd say I want outta here, but it's something ridiculous everyday!
Supportive Housing First. Many mentally ill homeless people need supportive services.

Dude's a little bit stupid
Secretly wonders if the distinguished gentleman has any stock in rehabilitation centers
Common sense needs to come back to America.
Though love is the only solution.
They are not implemented properly
Just like communism!
