Your under-sink liner in the kitchen is just fine! I use something similar in various places in my house, mostly to avoid scraping wooden shelves and cabinets, to keep things elevated slightly above ground/floor level and to stop sliding (especially liquids n storage). Don't worry about those who pass judgement on every little thing.

Whitney I love my Dyson. I wouldn’t have anything else. I’m 68 and love to clean but I’ve noticed I’m slowing down a lot. When you were decorating the shelf I felt all of the ways you staged them were great.

Tip to help you with the showers & bathtubs. I have an O’Cedar mop but anything will do. I bought extra mop heads. I have one that is just for bathtubs & showers. No bending & stooping & you get a really clean bath. 😊
Check to see if your return air vent covers are removable. I know ours slide off from each side. Once removed my husband takes them outside and hoses or pressure washes them sparkling clean in just a few minutes. When they are dry we just slide them back on. It sure beats trying to hand clean each little shutter piece.
The bows clipped to the chicken-wire mesh in a frame is priceless! My family originates with farmers and I am going to use this idea as a gift for my Aunt who once bragged she was 'the Chicken-plucking Queen of the Panhandle (of Florida)' and was proud of it, too!
I think it is so honest of you to let your followers know this is real life and not for show. Especially in a household with multiple people of various ages, with various needs and expectations, a person does well to have flexibility. You can still have hopeful standards but reality does not always cooperate with our fondest wishes for order and opportunity to create order. Living creates mess and some chaos and tolerating it until such time as you can change it takes maturity and patience. I remind myself that prioritizing is necessary to function each day and I am pleased to do even a small chore when I can. Made me think of this when you were talking about doing 'piecemeal' activities and appreciating being able to do it. Good coping!
i don't think it's taboo to talk about pregnancies or mental health or anything like that, In fact I think it's amazing you have the confidence to actually talk about it at all, and it's pretty healthy just to get some stuff out and not always racking your mind about it.

I can't believe people came at you about expiration dates on spices. 😄 Some people just aren't happy unless they're criticizing others for something. I'm not very fond of the Konmari method. I feel like it's not practical for a lot of people. I like her folding methods, but that's about it. Half of my possessions don't spark joy, but I need them. What can I say...I just don't get very excited about kitchen utensils, lol! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas, Whitney! 🎄❤️
This is exactly how I feel too! I only apply the spark joy aspect to things that make sense for that… so certain clothes, shoes, etc but yes kitchen stuff, none of it sparks joy but I need it lol! I also just make sure I don’t have multiple of one utensil that aren’t being used. I only like part of her method! Thanks so much for watching ❤️ and have a merry Christmas!!!

So cool- I have never seen a device in which to store flimsy cutting boards! I am speaking of that wooden "rack," for lack of a better word, that you put those cutting boards into! It looked like a magic trick to my untrained eyes! How very interesting! What else have you got up your sleeve (in the drawers)?

Hi Whitney. It’s after midnight and I’m unable to sleep so I’m watching you clean. By far the most difficult room for me to clean/get organized is my home office. I have a stack of paper clutter that needs to be filed or used for tax purposes. I so wish I could get the room cleaned, but now I have a downright aversion to even going in there! It’s demoralizing.
I know what you mean! My office space felt that way too. Getting a couple file boxes changed my life! It makes it so easy to file things away and stay on top of it too!
Whitney, you are awesome. I don't keep my house up to par either. I have a lot of health issues so therefore I don't always clean. I have been decluttering my house since March. As I watched you assess and change your cabinet with OTC meds., etc. in it, I could see you "thinking with your hands!" It is useful to orient things another way, try another grouping and reconsider what resources (bins and boxes) should be used to the best advantage. Made me laugh to see your busy, busy hands as you worked out a solution to your storage needs. Keep it up- very fun and educational to see!

You asked what area in the home I struggle with most regarding organization and the maintenance of same? Has to be the linen closet in my hallway! All those pesky cloth items which unfold themselves and move around when I am not looking! Ha ha ha Seems that I have always had an issue with towels, blankets, pillowcases, washcloths, sheets and hand towels. Tried so many folding and stacking arrangements but did not keep up with it, reverting to old but well-known ways when under a time crunch. Also store OTC stuff, toiletries and small household items (think batteries) in this closet as there is no room for it anywhere elsewhere (small house). Anything you could suggest or show would be great! Thanks.

I am still struggling with the kitchen, but I finally got rid of the dresser. I am a visual organizer, so if it is in drawers it is pretty well non-existent. I now have a clear bin on a shelf in my closet for socks and underwear, a stack of pants/shorts on a shelf, and I hang my shirts.

Enjoyed this video so much! I would not think of criticizing your personal details as each homemaker has to adapt to her environment and specific family issues. Don't see anything to challenge anyway! Appreciate your sharing, explaining your thinking as you organize/de-clutter/clean as it helps me consider other points of view when assessing what I can do... My brain is just like that and I have ADHD. I don't say you have it, but it's a very common issue that we are unorganized or struggle to finish a task before doing another and end up with 10 unfinished projects and a big mess instead of a clean house. I have followed the Konmari method and I think her method is great for me, but I changed it slightly to suit me, I just have not got so many clothes so I just did one closet at the time as I just have two small ones and then I did my jackets in the hallway instead of putting my four jackets on my bed. I really need some new clothes, but if I just finished my laundry I would have a little more clothes but I still need to buy new one as some of the is just looking like I robbed a homeless person. When l start vacuuming for instance and see that my kitchen sink is dirty I forget all about vacuuming and clean my sink, and then I see my cooking top is dirty and have to clean it and then I get tired and need to sit down and my vacuuming is long forgotten, but my kitchen sink is clean and my cooking top, but now my counter top and my floor is a mess and I need to rest and the next day I just don't remember to continue or my fibromyalgia is giving me a hard time with a lot of pain or I get a cluster headache attack and migraine and is set back for a few days, so it's not just you who can't do it "the right way" even though it looks like you finish eventually so I guess you're better than me even if you don't do it in the right order, who ever decided what is the right order anyways? I love your home and how organized and neat it is even when it need to be cleaned and decluttered you can see that it's been cleaned recently. I do like that you teached your kids to do their room too so it's not just mom doing it all. 😊

I have the same problem with my son, carter's has recently expanded their sizes so now I'm able to find cute little boy shirts and jammies for him that don't look so mature. Anything to keep them little longer lol

The honest truth is, if we are struggling to keep up to all the household chores & constantly organising & re organising, then we simply have too much stuff. Until we accept the fact that we cannot keep everything, the cycle continues. You cannot organise clutter...

The powder you put on your carpet is not good for the filters in your vacuum cleaner. Google it.
It doesn’t effect the vacuum I use for it! Cordless vacuums with fabric filters, yes absolutely would damage.
Dear parents!
When Your kids are very good behaviour all the time and always taking good care of their things, keeping their rooms very clean, loving their favorite things and want to make nice childhood collections of their things: books, clothes, toys, video games, clothes, DVDs and etc, then donataing is very wrong thing to do. If You have few space then storage boxes and shelves will help You out and Your kids will be very happy and thankful then, if they can keep their favourite things. Childhood things are very valuable and it is very sad, if they won’t see them anymore in their life. Every child should have the right to keep their things, if they can take good care of them all the time!!!

Respectfully, why are you commenting this on my post lol? Nothing wrong with donating to those in need. I don’t have toys from my childhood and I’m just fine. Teaching our kids that materialistic things aren’t necessary is more valuable than holding onto stuff they don’t need. I’d much rather my children learn the value of hard work and giving to those who need it more than them.
@@whitneypea Because many people had agreed with me and they said they are keeping their kids childhood things, if they still very love them so much. Even if they can’t keep all the things, then they are keeping something what is very favourite and important to them and let them choose what to keep and what to donate. There is nothing wrong with keeping some of Your kids favourite childhood things, if they very love them so much.
