You might miss out some jokes there specifically the jokes that are based on the characters in the original dbz which you guys dunno anything about cuz this parody was primary for the dbz fans but it's fine this show is so funny that even non fans can have fun watching it.... that's how legendary Team Four Star are...
At the beginning that's true but the longer it lasts the more it can entirely replace the original show. Frankly starting with Episode 10 it's not as self-referential as it was and is starts standing as its own show that's just an alternate version of the same story.
There is some jokes you will miss if you javent watched dbz and all ots movies previously. But overall this abridged series was amazing even for the non fans.
And also so happy y'all are reacting to this, this was my go to stress release all throughout highschool, TFS are real OG's of RUclips and online parodies

There's another abridged series that got me into watching the original anime it's Swordart online abridged and I love the original series and the abridged
DBZA has gotten a few people to watch the official release, as well as get into anime in general.
Dragon Ball Z not only for kids, i think its for teenagers, also alot of adults watching Dragon Ball too. I am not perfect at english because i from Russia

watch the original first called dragonball (without the z or kai)..its 153 episodes its just called dragonball and its the first part of the story not just some kid series..you need to watch it for context or else dbz is going to confuse the fuck outta you....don't worry it has villains it gets good around episode 88 onwards and its very much dbz from episode 101 on and goku is not a kid half way through hes a teen and by the last arc hes close to age 19 and looks like an adult...you just gotta get through the gags at first...its a gag adventure mystical manga until episode 25 or so...then it takes the action more seriously....theres some good fights inbetween the first few sagas that keep you interested in the future of the series...the characters are charming af....the thing with z is it had a better story with better characters villains but og db has goku's story...thats the difference...og db is all about goku's life and what hes doing....dbz is an ensemble piece of fiction without a true main character pov at least..it jumps bounces all around from character to character more where goku can be absent for long periods of time...in og db every single episode has a lot of goku pretty much unless its a later filler before the final arc....he may not appear in like 1 episode and in like 96% of them hes the focus in the 153 episode series where as in dbz over 291 eps he may not appear for more like 38-40 eps in the series and multiple in a row and even then in a lot of eps you barley see him or hes not the focus hes not on screen long or part of the main plot....hes still the main character in name and impact but hes not followed as much as in og db...so you won't get why hes so beloved and matters without the og series context of who he is and what hes about...he is a lesser character in z hes already developed by then so the show does little to get people to care for him like in og db cause they assume you seen the og series and love goku already..which is why his character gets a bad wrap in the community writing wise cause people just never seen kid goku's show..they just seen him as an adult and acting like a child...theres no connection to his growth in dbz like in og cause hes a flat static simple character who changes others around him does not let them change him...
